Images[edit]

Only upload png images. Otherwise, they have a pretty high chance of being deleted. You can convert them by using http://image.online-convert.com/convert-to-png When you do, select Best Quality and tick the Enhance box. Obstruction of Diffraction (talkcontribs) 22:13, December 24, 2013 (UTC)

I was not aware of the <<png-only>> rule. I've been waiting for those images to be up for some time now, and I suppose I got a little ahead of myself when I had the opportunity. I'll keep that in mind from now on. TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 23:17, December 24, 2013 (UTC)

OW images[edit]

Most of the images you're uploading have already been uploaded. Check the Gallery page first to see if any of them are already uploaded. Obstruction of Diffraction (talkcontribs) 22:51, December 24, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Brick. When adding to the galleries, please make the links to yugioh.com like this. Thanks for all the uploads, by the way. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:57, February 3, 2014 (UTC)
Except don't capitalize the letters like he did. The url doesn't have capitalized letters in the card name. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 19:47, February 3, 2014 (UTC)
... Another reminder. You just did it again for "Shadow Moon". --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 23:30, February 10, 2014 (UTC)
And yet again for Double Fusion. Please Brick, try to remember. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 02:40, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
Oh dear, look at all these messages...
I'm terribly sorry, I don't get any sort of message whenever anyone edits this page, and I hardly ever check it. I'll try to solve this issue now that I see it.TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 03:11, March 20, 2014 (UTC)

Duel Arena characters[edit]

I'm not sure, but it looks like there are 38 cards in the Dark Magician Deck? Did you miss out on some (or did I miscount)? --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 16:06, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

My, five days later and I finally think to look at this message. Yes, you are correct about my incorrectness. See the page for the changes. TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 02:40, June 10, 2014 (UTC)

PSCT for anime cards[edit]

We don't use PSCT for anime cards, except for the ones used in the ZEXAl era and onwards. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 19:48, August 7, 2015 (UTC)

Archetype infobox images[edit]

The only policy is "whichever image is better." I prefer the anime screenshot for "Melodious", but it is by no means because its from the anime. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 15:37, October 12, 2015 (UTC)

Oh. Well, I stand corrected.TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 20:24, October 12, 2015 (UTC)

Regarding the naming of Ra's Phoenix form[edit]

Not sure what the others decide to do, but as far as the naming goes, both "Sphere Mode" and "God Phoenix" names are based on the Japanese Kana (so there is no naming structure involved, as far as i can say).

The TCG didn't change the name for "Sphere Mode", so its still possible (even-though only a little) that they might not do so for "God Phoenix" as well. And since it is translated as the name suggest in Katakana (if it would have been Hiragana, then it could be considered a bit), i think it would be better to leave it as it is, unless we get the Official TCG name for it (whether change it now, or later all the same), since its better not to mess up things to much.

But like i said, its all depends on the others who are at higher position than me (by the way, i can rename the page since i am allowed to do so, but won't for now, hope you understand why).--Supratim1986 (talkcontribs) 15:33, November 18, 2015 (UTC)

Premium Pack 18 effects[edit]

Look here, in case you're wondering why Danielblack started adding them. Cheesedude even specifically said not to add them yet, unless they're actually confirmed. ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 23:07, December 14, 2015 (UTC) That's why I deleted them.TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 23:09, December 14, 2015 (UTC)

DMG Archetype.[edit]

You're aware that Dark Burning Attack does call for a DMG monster, specifically, right? PhotonLegion95 (talkcontribs) 14:27, December 15, 2015 (UTC)

Unofficial names/lores[edit]

Please stop removing them, and restore the ones you've removed. They're invisible and not doing any harm. If you want, refer to User:Dinoguy1000 for more specific reasons not to, since idr. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 14:46, January 29, 2016 (UTC)

Redirects[edit]

Hello, They, whom I'm going to call Brick. Please, when redirecting set/card numbers to their respective page, tag the redirect with a redirect template:

And I ask you to please go to your contributions and tag the ones you didn't tag before. Thank you. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 17:27, May 2, 2016 (UTC)

Factbox[edit]

Hello Brick. You don't need to hide the factbox if you see it. You just need to hide it the page appears broken (since it's probably due to the factbox).
That means, if you see a page like this on the Wikia skin, or like this on the Monobook skin, you should hide it. If a page is being presented normally, even though the factbox is visible, you don't need to hide it.
In case you have doubts if you should hide it on a specific page, feel free to ask me or ask an admin or anyone else that knows how this works. Thank you. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 19:03, May 21, 2016 (UTC)

Unofficial names and lores[edit]

Brick, please do not remove unofficial names and lores. Even if the official ones might be available soon, like in this case. So please keep them. If an official name/lore comes out, then it should replace the unofficial one. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 12:07, August 5, 2016 (UTC) —Last edited at 12:51, August 5, 2016 (UTC).

Actually, I mistyped. But you get what I mean. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 12:51, August 5, 2016 (UTC)

Set lists/galleries[edit]

Hey Brick. When creating set card lists or galleries, please make them according to User:Dinoguy1000/boilerplate. Take a look at it; you just have to replace the list/gallery entries with the ones from the pack you're doing it for. If you have questions, just ask. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 20:51, August 13, 2016 (UTC)

Unofficial names/lores again[edit]

Hey Brick. Please don't remove names/lores if they are unofficial, like you did with the Portuguese lore here. Just tag them with the respective {{Unofficial name}} or {{Unofficial lore}} templates. Thanks. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 01:39, August 22, 2016 (UTC) Huh, I removed that? Didn't notice it was there when I made the edit.TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 02:03, August 22, 2016 (UTC)

Ghost of Dark Sanctuary[edit]

Hi there. I just want to know where the evidence is that states Bakura cannot control which monster is possessed by the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary? Shadowfox87 (talkcontribs) 11:53, August 23, 2016 (UTC)

  • You're barking up the wrong tree, there. Maybe go ask the person who actually added the line? TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 12:36, August 23, 2016 (UTC)

Spacing[edit]

Please space appropriately in Card Galleries and the like. If you don't have monospaced font enabled already, you can do so by going to "Preferences" on any Wiki page , going to the "Edit" tab, and choosing "Monospaced font" in the advanced options section. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 18:11, September 4, 2016 (UTC)

Linked lores[edit]

Hi Brick. I appreciate your additions regarding the card names and lores, I really do. But sometimes the lores there are already correct and have links on them and you just overwrite them. I bet you do it for all the lores you can find on the database, to ensure the article displays the most recent lores. But by doing so, you sometimes erase those linked lores that were already correct; meaning you just remove the links. So I ask you to pay a bit more attention and preserve the links. Of course, if a linked lore is there and the one at the database is completely different, I won't ask you to keep the links, because that would be annoying and would take lots of time and I know that's not your aim. But in cases where the linked lore we have is similar to the one at the database (or if a comma is missing or something that small), I would like you to be careful and don't overwrite that one. You can make a comparison by clicking on "Show changes", right next to the "Publish" button.
Also, I've see you adding "Viatnemese" to {{Unofficial name}}; the correct spelling is "Vietnamese". You can check if your spelling is correct by, when previewing the page, scrolling to the bottom and check if there isn't a category named Card pages with a nonstandard unofficial name. Thanks! Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 11:26, September 9, 2016 (UTC)

Reminding you to avoid de-linking the lores. Several times, you just remove the links and that's all. So please try to pay attention, Brick. Thanks. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 22:59, October 17, 2016 (UTC)
See what I'm saying? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 23:24, October 17, 2016 (UTC)
You see, in a very large and embracing point of view, you are removing info from pages. That could be a problem; especially when you remove links that are not present on the English lore. Which means, you are decreasing the navigation level of the page. It's like going to a tips page and remove some links just because, ultimately.
Not to mention that some people had the work to link the instances, of course.
I know it can be a harsh work, the one you are doing; and it's easier to just overwrite everything, I know. I've added several names/lores to pages, so I know that. If you want I can give you some regex to cut the links out of the lores already there; then you just have to compare them to the ones you are going to add and see if they are equal. (If they aren't equal (which also means almost identical), you don't have to bother with the links. I'm just talking about cases where there are zero changes to the lore; which means you simply removed the links.)
In any case, there's a button entitled "Show changes". If you click on it, you'll see the changes you made to the code; this can help you see if you're just removing the links, without updating the lore. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 23:47, October 17, 2016 (UTC)
You say you had "never made an edit just to remove them". Take a look at this edit; you just removed the links, that was the only thing you did. And those links aren't even on the English lore.
And even if you add a lore that wasn't there yet, sometimes, besides that, you remove the links of the lores without updating them, because they were already updated. That's what I am asking here. I am not asking for you to keep the links if they are there on an outdated lore. If a lore has links but is outdated and you just overwrite it with the most recent one, that's fine, I don't mind. Now, if the lore has links and is updated, don't remove the links; because, in that case, the only change you made to the lore was to remove the links; you did nothing more (just like the example I presented above).
Take this example. You did zero changes to the Spanish lore. The only thing you did was to remove the links. You also removed the links from the Italian lore, but I am fine with that, because the lore was outdated. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 13:00, October 18, 2016 (UTC)
I know what you mean, I know you didn't make that edit for the sole purpose of doing it. But that's what I'm pointing here. If I didn't know your methods, those could be considered disruptive edits. And they are, at a degree. Just like this one. You can clearly see the Italian and Portuguese lores were correct. You can also clearly see the German lore only differs on the quotation marks. So why do you have the necessity to just overwrite them if they are correct? Use the time to copy/paste the lores to check if they were correct. May take a wee bit more, but it is preferable; quality over quantity.
And no, you shouldn't be blindly editing; that's not a good practice, as you can see the result.
As I said in the beginning, I appreciate your additions. But even though you add good info, you also remove it. I'm just asking you to pay more attention. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 20:06, October 18, 2016 (UTC)

Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Bane[edit]

What was the reason for your edit here? If you haven't already known by now, Viz's YGO translations are very shoddy, and shouldn't be taken as the literal translations. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 18:18, October 4, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, but the confusion in your reply has forced me to reply =/. I'm not referring to the specific card's translation, I'm referring to Viz's translations as a whole for the YGO manga. They have stated (though not publicly) that their translations for the manga have been handed off to a separate entity, and the quality can be seen throughout the inconsistency of their translated manga card names.
I understand your reasoning, and I wish you had stated it as such in your edit summary for that edit. In general, it's just a good idea to use the "edit summary" for edits like that, which I know you've been using recently. No hard feelings please, from either of us. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 20:36, October 4, 2016 (UTC)

Reset CardTable2[edit]

Hi Brick. Why did you do this? Was something wrong with the page? Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 21:09, November 4, 2016 (UTC)

Alright. Just asked, because with the SMW update, there shouldn't be needed to reset the properties' assignment; so if something was wrong with the page, should probably be reported. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 21:23, November 4, 2016 (UTC)

"Gemini Imps"[edit]

In Portuguese:

Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 15:50, November 7, 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, I know. Though, the first time, I confess I didn't think of the Brazilian thing. But if you revert or change something an user just added, please try to give a small explanation through the edit summary, so people can know what was wrong.
In any case, don't bother much with unofficial names/lores, unless it's to change them to the official ones.
Feel free to revert me on the "Gemini Imps" page (but, again, either point to this or explain why, please). Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 16:47, November 7, 2016 (UTC)

"Treeborn Frog"[edit]

Hi Brick!

Why did you change the french name of Treeborn Frog again? I got the card in french and the real french name is "Rainette" not "Grenouille d'Arbre"

Best regards.

Oh purée les joies de la traduction française a encore frappé! Merci de m'avoir corrigé dans ce cas. Berzetoberze (talkcontribs) 16:21, December 2, 2016 (UTC)

Replacing files[edit]

Pleas don't leave orphaned files that have a duplicate floating around meaninglessly (especially since they are copyrighted content). I see you replaced the JPG Tag Force file for "Gandora" with a PNG one. Whenyou do this, please tag the old one with {{Delete}}. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 03:23, December 5, 2016 (UTC)

Also, please only tag them for deletion if they are not being used in any pages anymore. That means, only after you've updated all the file links. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 03:47, December 5, 2016 (UTC)

Korean lores[edit]

When you add them, do you just copy/paste them from other sites without comparing with the actual card? A lot of the Korean lores on card sites differ from what's printed on the actual card, so be careful when doing that. If you can't handle comparing, then it's best not to insert the Korean lore at all until someone else decides to do the comparing process. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 20:53, January 7, 2017 (UTC)

I would like an answer though. When I look over cards that already have a Korean lore inserted by a certain user, I'd like to assume the lore is 100% correct so I don't have to personally check it. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 21:14, January 7, 2017 (UTC)

Cool, thanks. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 21:27, January 7, 2017 (UTC)

Adding empty parameters[edit]

Hey Brick. Generally, doing this is pointless. So please try to avoid it. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 12:56, January 16, 2017 (UTC)

PSA[edit]

If you see a lone italian name on the page of an anime-original card from an upcoming TCG set, then it's probably an official dub name added by me personally. Please stop overwriting them. --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 13:22, January 25, 2017 (UTC)

Then why you're deleting them anyway? --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 13:43, January 25, 2017 (UTC)
Brick, if you think a name/lore is unofficial, just tag it as unofficial; don't remove it.
If I see an user removing content from pages, I might block that user. There's even a block reason: "Removing content from pages". So it's something that happens frequently.
You have been told, several times, to leave the names/lores there. However, you keep removing them. You're adding the Korean lore in some cases at the same time you remove the unofficial name/lore, sure. But please stop removing info from the pages. Don't push it, please. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 13:56, January 25, 2017 (UTC)
Believe me, I don't plan to push this at all. He considers these dub names official and wants them to stay, where I don't and don't mind if they get removed. It's understandable.
Starting now, I will add the unofficial tag to these dub names and leave it there. Veuillez m'excuser.
TheycallmeBrick (talkcontribs) 14:39, January 25, 2017 (UTC)
Wait, no, that's not the point! Dub names are official on this wiki after all. I just wish you do not touch them until it is proved the Italian TCG name is different. Is that so complicated? --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 14:46, January 25, 2017 (UTC)
I told you to stop tagging dub names as unofficial. The policy of this wiki is that they aren't. --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 22:39, February 6, 2017 (UTC)
I'll let you on Geh, but the point remains for the RATE cards you tagged again. Also, "what degree some dub names are more official than others". What do you mean? Some cards have no other western name apart the dub one. We have to use that, and if you disagree with me on that, then you're disagreeing with the rules, seeing as everytime a card is featured in the dub before it is released in the TCG it is promptly renamed. We wouldn't do it it dub names were unofficial. --XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 23:07, February 6, 2017 (UTC)
