OCG Rulings
- "Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways" is not treated as an effect of an Effect Monster.[1]
- As for the effect that allows it to attack multiple times, it is not necessary to perform these additional attacks in a row. You can attack once, attack with a different monster, and then perform the second attack.[1]
- While performing a second or higher attack with "Shooting Quasar Dragon", if "Skill Drain" is activated upon "Attack Declaration" or during the "Battle Step", since "Shooting Quasar Dragon" has its effects negated, the attack stops. Also, if "Shooting Quasar Dragon" has its effects negated by "Forbidden Chalice" during the "Damage Step", you still perform "Damage Calculation".[2]
- The effect of "Shooting Quasar Dragon" is applied as follows:
- It can negate the activation of the effects of a Continuous Spell Card, a Continuous Trap Card, or a Field Spell Card and destroy that card by chaining its effect to the activation of those effects.
- It can negate the activation of effects activated outside of the field by chaining its effect to those effects.
- If Shooting Quasar Dragon is no longer face-up by the time its effect resolves, its effect is still applied.[3]
- If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" is face-down on the field, and it leaves the field without being flipped face-up, its effect cannot be activated. If your opponent controls your "Shooting Quasar Dragon" and it leaves the field, you can activate its effect.[4]
- If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" leaves the field on the middle of the resolution of an effect or as Chain Link 2 or higher, the effect to Special Summon "Shooting Star Dragon" cannot be activated.[5]
- After Synchro Summoning "Shooting Quasar Dragon", if it's flipped face-down by the effect of "Book of Moon", and then flipped face-up once again, it can only attack once per turn.[6]
- "Shooting Quasar Dragon" effects work as follows:
- "Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways" is not treated as an effect of an Effect Monster.
- "This card's maximum number of attacks per turn equals the number of non-Tuner monsters used as its Synchro Material." is a Continuous Effect.
- "Once per turn, when a card or effect is activated: You can negate the activation and destroy it" is an Optional Quick Effect that can even be activated during the Damage Step. Also, it doesn't target.
- "When this card leaves the field: You can Special Summon 1 "Shooting Star Dragon" from your Extra Deck" is an Optional Trigger Effect that you can activate even if this card leaves the field during the Damage Step. Also, it doesn't target. Furthermore, if you don't have any copies of "Shooting Star Dragon" in your Extra Deck, you cannot activate this effect.[7]
- If "Shooting Quasar Dragon" can attack three times by its own effect, and it's equipped with "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce", "Shooting Quasar Dragon" own effect determines the maximum number of times it can declare attacks, so it can attack a maximum of three times. Even after "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce" is destroyed, it can still attack a maximum of three times.[8]
