Design
Appearance
"Raidraptor" monsters resemble robotic various genus and species of birds of prey equipped with weaponry, with a mechanised appearance. The Main Deck monsters are based off of lanius, a genus of passerine birds in the shrike family. The Extra Deck monsters so far are based off falcons, with "Raidraptor - Force Strix" being based off strix, a genus of earless owls.
Playing style
Although only a few cards were revealed so far, the archetype's strategy seems to be heavily focused on Xyz Summoning with the use of monsters with the same name (multiple copies of the same monster), though this focus on monsters with the same name is exclusive to the anime; they support all "Raidraptor" monsters in the OCG.
The effects of the Main Deck monsters can be activated during the Main Phase of the turn that they were Normal or Special Summoned, and they focus on swarming the field to Xyz Summon Rank 4 or Rank 5 monsters. Due to "Vanishing Lanius" being one of the Deck's primary combo pieces (and it being only able to Special Summon itself in the anime), "Raidraptors" have a plethora of in-archetype searching power, as well as access to other search cards for both Winged Beast-Type monsters and Level 4 monsters.
The Xyz Monsters so far all have low ATK and high DEF for their Rank, but they make up for this with extremely powerful effects: "Rise Falcon" can gain a large amount of ATK, while "Blaze Falcon" can attack directly and destroy monsters with its effects. "Raidraptor - Revolution Falcon" combines elements of both of these effects. "Raidraptors" also have a Rank-Up strategy, they can use "Rank-Up-Magic Raptor's Force" to revive their fallen Xyz Monsters and then evolve them into more powerful forms, or they can use "Rank-Up-Magic Revolution Force" to either Rank-Up their own monsters, or their opponent's, effectively acting as impromptu removal, though this will deny full access to "Revolution Falcon's" effects unless one is retaking control of one of their monsters or the opponent also uses "Raidraptors".
