Yu-Gi-Oh!

Duelist Kingdom Arc

• In the Japanese version of the second series anime, Solomon Muto's poster features this card alongside Hercules Beetle (foreshadowing Yugi's duel with Weevil Underwood while its Black Luster Soldier and Harpie's Pet Dragon are in the poster in the dub, foreshadowing Yugi's duel with Mai Valentine).
• This card made its first appearance called "Elf Swordsman" during Yugi's first duel against Maximillion Pegasus. It was destroyed by Dark Magician, which Pegasus was controlling with Eye of Illusion. Being referred to as the Elf Swordsman was corrected in later episodes.
• It made its next appearance in Yugi's duel against Ghost Kaiba, where it destroyed Grappler. It stayed on the field until the duel ended.
• Yugi summoned this card against Panik in his opening turn. The next turn Panik destroyed it with Barox.
• During Yugi and Joey Wheeler's tag-team duel against the Paradox Brothers, Yugi summoned this card, and it was immediately attacked by the brothers' Wall Shadow. However, Joey activated Kunai with Chain, capturing Wall Shadow and raising this card's ATK high enough so that it could destroy Wall Shadow. It was later destroyed by the brothers' Dungeon Worm.
• In Yugi's second Duel against Seto Kaiba on top of Pegasus' castle, he intended to destroy the diseased Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon with this card, but hampered his attack during the last moment.
• Yugi summoned this card on his opening turn during his anime-only duel with Joey during Duelist Kingdom. It was destroyed by Joey's Giltia the D. Knight.
• During Yugi's duel against Pegasus at the end of the Duelist Kingdom arc, he summoned this card and attempted to attack Pegasus' Toon Mermaid with it. Unfortunately, this card was destroyed since normal monsters could not destroy Toon monsters.

Battle City/Virtual World Arcs

• During Yugi's duel with Bandit Keith (controlled by Marik Ishtar), he summoned this card and destroyed Keith's face-down Cyber Jar with it. As per Cyber Jar's effect, it was destroyed.
• Yugi summoned this card during his duel with Johnny Steps and destroyed Sonic Maid with it. It was later destroyed by Johnny's Musician King.
• During Yami Yugi's duel with Arkana during Battle City, this card was seem in Yugi's hand and later discarded when Yugi used Card Destruction.
• After Battle City, this monster was replaced with Obnoxious Celtic Guardian.
• This card can be seen when Yami Yugi was building his Virtual World deck before his duel with Gansley, though he does not select it.
• This card can be seen when Tristan Taylor was building his Virtual World deck before his duel with Nesbitt, though he does not select it.
• This card can be seen when Seto Kaiba was building his Virtual World deck before his duel with Lector, this card is briefly seen, though he does not select it.
• This card can be seen while Yami Yugi is choosing his Virtual World deck before his and Joey Wheeler's tag-team duel against The Big Five (in Tristan Taylor's body), though he does not select it.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters

• Yugi Muto was holding the "Celtic Guardian" figure while teaching Téa Gardner how to play Capsule Monsters.
• "Celtic Guardian" is the first Monster Yugi obtains in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters arc.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

• This card appears in the second version of GX Japanese opening song of 99%.

Naming

In the Spanish Anime, this card was known as "Guardia Celta".
