In the Yu-Gi-Oh! second series anime, it could only be activated if there was a Spellcaster-Type monster on the player's side of the field. The one time this happened was when Strings' Slifer the Sky Dragon attacked Dark Magician Girl. Yugi activated Spellbinding Circle and Magic Cylinder to redirect the attack back at Slifer with the same amount of ATK it had when the attack was declared to win the Duel, but Revival Jam blocked the attack, allowing Slifer to destroy Dark Magician Girl.
This card appears during episode 85 when Yugi is rebuilding his deck.
This card appears during episode 99 when Yugi is building his Virtual World deck.
This card appears during episode 108 when Seto Kaiba is building his Virtual World deck.
Yugi used an ability similar to this card to defeat Joey in Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters - Episode 007.

Syrus Truesdale played this card against Dimitri's "Ancient Gear Golem" by using "Jetroid's" effect.

Bastion Misawa was about to activate this card in his second duel against Chazz Princeton but changed his mind at the last minute and lost the duel.

During the Genex Tournament, Syrus duels a Slifer Red student in episode 84. He was going to use his combo with Jetroid and this card again, but his opponent summoned Jinzo.
