Dark Yugi and Kirk's Duel was a Duel between Dark Yugi and Kirk Dixon in Yu-Gi-Oh! R.
Events
Prior events
Kirk was one of the thirteen Card Professor mercenaries hired by Yako Tenma for Project R.A. He was the third Card Professor to face Dark Yugi and did so after Dark Yugi was separated from Jonouchi and Honda, after Jonouchi triggered a trap by picking up the card "Booby Trap". Kirk had heard that Dark Yugi was stronger when his friends were around and explained that the trap was there to eliminate that factor. He also ridiculed Jonouchi and Honda for falling for the first trap and said that they were probably in the garbage where they belong.
The Duel
- Dark Yugi's turn
Dark Yugi Summoned "Alpha the Magnet Warrior" in Defense Mode (DEF: 1700) and Set "Spellbinding Illusion" and "Spellbinding Circle".
- Kirk's turn
Kirk Summoned "Machina Soldier" in Attack Mode (ATK: 1600) and Set "Intruder Alarm - Yellow Alert".
He then activates "Ties of the Brethren", paying 1000 Life Points (Kirk: 4000 → 3000 Life Points) to Special Summon "Machine Defender" and "Machine Blaster" (ATK: 1800) and "Machine Defender" (ATK: 1200) from his Deck.
Dark Yugi wondered why Kirk was Summoning monsters that could neither attack nor be Tributed.
- Dark Yugi's turn
Dark Yugi Tributed "Alpha the Magnet Warrior" to Summon "Dark Magician Girl" (ATK: 2000).
Dark Yugi attacked "Machine Defender" with "Dark Magician Girl", but Kirk used "Intruder Alarm - Yellow Alert" to Special Summon "Caterpillar Tank" (ATK: 2700) from his hand, which counter attacked the "Dark Magician Girl". However Dark Yugi used "Spellbinding Circle" to lower its ATK (ATK: 2700 → 2000) and negate the attack.
At the end of the Battle Phase, "Caterpillar Tank" returned to Kirk's hand due to the effect of "Intruder Alarm - Yellow Alert".
Dark Yugi again wondered about Kirk's fixation with these monsters that couldn't attack or be Tributed.
- Kirk's turn
Kirk Summoned "Commander Covington" (ATK: 1000). He used its effect to combine "Machine Solider", "Blaster" and "Defender" into "Machine Force" (ATK: 4600).
Kirk paid 1000 Life Points (Kirk: 3000 → 2000) to attack "Dark Magician Girl" with "Machine Force". However Dark Yugi used "Spellbinding Illusion" to decrease the ATK of "Commander Covington" and negate its effect. This caused "Machine Force" to split back into "Machine Solider", "Machine Blaster" and "Machine Defender".
- Dark Yugi's turn
Dark Yugi used "Diffusion Wave-Motion", allowing "Dark Magician Girl" to attack each of Kirk's monsters (Kirk: 2000 → 0 Life Points).
Aftermath
Surprised by his defeat, Kirk dropped a number of cards, including the key card he was to give to Dark Yugi on the floor. He then stumbled onto a trap, which catapulted him into a trash receptacle.
