Yusei and Z-one's Duel was the penultimate Duel in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime between Yusei Fudo and Z-one above the Divine Temple to prevent Z-one from destroying New Domino City.

Featured Duel: Yusei Fudo vs. Z-one

At the start of the Duel, the Field Spell Card "Speed World 2" is activated, as per the rules of a Turbo Duel.

Turn 1: Z-one
Draws a card. As he controls no monsters, Z-one Special Summons Template:Monster from his hand. Z-one then tributes "Time Maiden", which can be treated as 2 Tributes, to Summon Template:Monster. He sets 1 card.

Turn 2: Yusei
(Yusei's SPC: 0 → 1) (Z-one's SPC: 0 → 1)
Draws a card. As Z-one controls a monster while he doesn't, Yusei Special Summons Template:Monster from his hand. He then discards "Quillbolt Hedgehog" and "Clear Effector" to Special Summon Template:Monster from his hand. As he controls a Tuner monster, Yusei Special Summons Template:Monster from his Graveyard. Yusei then Normal Summons Template:Monster and activates its effect to Special Summon Template:Monster from his Graveyard. He tunes "Double Delta Warrior" to "Big Eater" to Synchro Summon Template:Monster. He then tunes "Clear Effector" and "Quillbolt Hedgehog" to "Debris Dragon" to Synchro Summon Template:Monster. Since "Clear Effector" was used as a Synchro Material, Yusei draws 1 card. Since he used "Double Delta Warrior" as a Synchro Material, he cannot declare an attack this turn. Yusei Sets 2 cards and ends his turn.

At this point, the effect of "Red Dragon Archfiend" activates, destroying all monsters that Yusei controls that didn't declare an attack this turn. However, "Clear Effector" allows Yusei to negate the effects of any Synchro Monster that used it as Synchro Material.

Turn 3: Z-one
(Yusei's SPC: 1 → 2) (Z-one's SPC: 1 → 2)
Draws a card. During his Standby Phase, "Metaion, the Timelord" returns to Z-one's Deck. He activates his face-down "Nonexistence". With its effect, he Normal Summons Template:Monster without Tributing. He attacks "Red Dragon Archfiend" with "Lazion", but Yusei counters with his face-down "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow", negating the attack, then Setting his card again. Z-one Sets 1 card.

Turn 4: Yusei
(Yusei's SPC: 2 → 3) (Z-one's SPC: 2 → 3)
Draws a card. "Lazion" inflicts 1000 damage to Yusei when he draws a card during his Draw Phase (Yusei LP: 4000 → 3000). Since he has at least 2 Speed Counters, Yusei activates "Speed Spell - Angel Baton", drawing 2 cards ("Junk Synchron" and "Regen Warrior") and sending the latter card to his Graveyard. Since it was sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, Yusei Special Summons Template:Monster. Yusei Normal Summons Template:Monster. He then tunes "Regen Warrior" to "Junk Synchron" to Synchro Summon Template:Monster. He activates its effect to destroy all cards on the field, but immediately counters it with his Set "Synchro Barrier Force", negating the effect and inflicting 500 damage to Z-one for each Synchro Monster on the field (Z-one LP: 4000 → 2500).

Turn 5: Z-one
(Yusei's SPC: 3 → 4) (Z-one's SPC: 3 → 4)
Draws a card. During his Standby Phase, "Lazion, the Timelord" returns to Z-one's Deck. Z-one sends "Nonexistence" to the Graveyard to activate "Endless Emptiness". He uses the effect of "Endless Emptiness" to Special Summon Template:Monster, Template:Monster and Template:Monster from his hand, all in Attack Position. "Zaphion" attacks "Black-Winged Dragon", but Yusei activates "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow", negating the attack and returning "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow" to its face-down position. "Sadion" attacks "Black Rose Dragon". "Timelord" monsters negate their own destruction, and Z-one takes no battle damage from attacks involving any of them. Since it battled, the effect of "Sadion" activates, returning Z-one's LP to 4000 (Z-one LP: 2500 → 4000). "Kamion" attacks "Red Dragon Archfiend". Since it battled, the effect of "Kamion" activates, returning all of Yusei's monsters to his Deck and inflicting 500 damage to him for each monster (Yusei LP: 3000 → 1500).

Turn 6: Yusei
(Yusei's SPC: 4 → 5) (Z-one's SPC: 4 → 5)
Yusei draws "Talisman of Reversal" and subsequently Sets it.

Turn 7: Z-one
(Yusei's SPC: 5 → 6) (Z-one's SPC: 5 → 6)
Draws a card. During his Standby Phase, "Lazion", "Kamion", and "Zaphion" return to Z-one's Deck. Since it left the field, the effect of "Zaphion" activates, allowing Z-one to draw until he has 5 cards in his hand. Yusei activates "Talisman of Reversal". Since Z-one drew a card(s) outside of his Draw Phase, Yusei draws cards equal to the number of cards in Z-one's hand (5). Yusei's hand is revealed to contain "Synchron Believer", "Synchron Keeper", "Steam Synchron", "Turbo Synchron", and "Scouting Warrior". Since it was added to his hand by a card effect, Yusei Special Summons Template:Monster. Since a monster was Special Summoned, he also Special Summons Template:Monster from his hand. Yusei uses the effect of "Steam Synchron", allowing him to Synchro Summon during Z-one's Main Phase. He tunes "Scouting Warrior" to "Steam Synchron" to Synchro Summon Template:Monster in Defense Position. Since Yusei Special Summoned a Synchro Monster, Z-one activates "Empress's Crown" from his hand, drawing 2 cards: "Sandaion, the Timelord" and "Infinite Light". Z-one uses the effect of "Endless Emptiness" to Special Summon Template:Monster, Template:Monster, Template:Monster, Template:Monster, and Template:Monster from his hand, all in Attack Position. Since "Endless Emptiness" is on the field, the ATK of "Sandaion" becomes 0 ("Sandaion": 4000 → 0 ATK). "Michion" attacks "Ancient Fairy Dragon". Since it battled, the effect of "Michion" activates, halving Yusei's LP (Yusei LP: 1500 → 750). "Hailon" attacks "Ancient Fairy Dragon", but Yusei activates "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow", negating the attack and returning "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow" face-down. "Raphion" attacks "Ancient Fairy Dragon", but Yusei activates the effect of Template:Monster from his hand, negating the attack and Special Summoning it. "Gabrion" attacks "Ancient Fairy Dragon". Since it battled, the effect of "Gabrion" activates, returning "Ancient Fairy Dragon", "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow" and "Synchron Believer" to Yusei's Extra/Main Deck. "Sandaion, the Timelord" attacks Yusei directly. Since it battled, the effect of "Sandaion" activates, inflicting 4000 damage to Yusei, but Yusei activates the effect of "Synchron Keeper" in his hand. He banishes it and "Big Eater" from his Graveyard to Synchro Summon "Template:Monster from his Extra Deck with its effects negated and negate the damage from "Sandaion". Z-one Sets 1 card.

Turn 8: Yusei
(Yusei's SPC: 6 → 7) (Z-one's SPC: 6 → 7)
Draws a card. Z-one sends "Endless Emptiness" to the Graveyard to activate "Infinite Light". Z-one can now negate the effect of his "Timelord" monsters that returns them to his Deck during his Standby Phase. Since "Endless Emptiness" is no longer on the field, the ATK of "Sandaion" returns to 4000 ("Sandaion": 0 → 4000 ATK). Yusei Normal Summons "Turbo Synchron". He tunes "Power Tool Dragon" to "Turbo Synchron" to Synchro Summon Template:Monster. When Summoned, it increases Yusei's LP to 2000 (Yusei LP: 750 → 2000). Since he has at least 7 Speed Counters, Yusei activates "Speed Spell - Synchro Panic" to Special Summon "Ancient Fairy Dragon", "Black Rose Dragon", "Black-Winged Dragon", and "Red Dragon Archfiend" from his Extra Deck, all with their effects negates and ATK reduced to 0. He then activates the effect of "Life Stream Dragon" to reduce the Levels of all of his other Synchro Monsters to 1. Yusei tunes "Ancient Fairy Dragon", "Black Rose Dragon", "Black-Winged Dragon", and "Red Dragon Archfiend" to "Life Stream Dragon" to Limit Over Accel Synchro Summon Template:Monster in Attack Position.

"Shooting Quasar Dragon" can attack a number of times equal to the number of its Synchro Materials (5). Z-one reminds Yusei that all of his monsters can negate their own destruction. Yusei informs Z-one that "Shooting Quasar Dragon" can ignore that particular effect. "Shooting Quasar Dragon" attacks and destroys "Michion", "Hailon", "Raphion", and "Gabrion". "Shooting Quasar Dragon" then attacks "Sandaion, the Timelord", with both monsters destroying each other. When destroyed, the final effect of "Shooting Quasar Dragon" activates, allowing Yusei to Special Summon Template:Monster from his Extra Deck. "Shooting Star Dragon" attacks Z-one directly (Z-one LP: 4000 → 700). Yusei activates the effect of Speed World 2, removing 7 Speed Counters (Yusei's SPC: 7 → 0) to draw 1 card. Yusei Sets 1 card.

Turn 9: Z-one
(Yusei's SPC: 0 → 1) (Z-one's SPC: 7 → 8)
Draws a card. Z-one activates the final effect of "Infinite Light". Since he's Summoned 10 "Timelord" monsters with different names during this Duel, he sends it to the Graveyard to Special Summon Template:Monster in Attack Position. When "Sephylon, the Ultimate Timelord" is Special Summoned, he can Special Summon as many "Timelord" monsters as possible from his hand, Deck, and/or Graveyard with their effects negated and their ATK increased to 4000. Special Summons "Metaion", "Sadion", "Gabrion" and "Sandaion". "Sephylon, the Ultimate Timelord" also gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all other "Timelord" monsters on the field (Sephylon's ATK: 4000 → 20000). "Sephylon, the Ultimate Timelord" attacks "Shooting Star Dragon".

Yusei activates his Set "Converging Wishes", reducing the battle damage to 0. He can also banishes "Power Tool Dragon" and "Turbo Synchron" from his Graveyard to Synchro Summon Template:Monster in Attack Position. "Converging Wishes" also increases the ATK of "Stardust Dragon" by the total ATK of all Dragon-Type Synchro Monsters in his Graveyard (Stardust Dragon's ATK: 2500 → 23000). Yusei activates the final effect of "Converging Wishes". By returning 1 Dragon-Type Synchro Monster in his Graveyard to his Extra Deck, he can force 1 of Z-one's monsters to attack "Stardust Dragon". Returns "Ancient Fairy Dragon" to his Extra Deck (Stardust Dragon's ATK: 23000 → 20900) to force "Sephylon" to attack, but Z-one activates its effect to prevent battle damage by banishing 1 other "Timelord" monster he controls. Banishes "Metaion" (Sephylon's ATK: 20000 → 16000) to prevent battle damage. Yusei returns "Life Stream Dragon" to his Extra Deck (Stardust Dragon's ATK: 20900 → 18000) to force "Sephylon" to attack. Z-one banishes "Sadion" (Sephylon's ATK: 16000 → 12000) to prevent battle damage. Yusei returns "Life Stream Dragon" to his Extra Deck (Stardust Dragon's ATK: 18000 → 15600) to force "Sephylon" to attack. Z-one banishes "Gabrion" (Sephylon's ATK: 12000 → 8000) to prevent battle damage. Yusei returns "Black-Winged Dragon" to his Extra Deck (Stardust Dragon's ATK: 15600 → 12800) to force "Sephylon" to attack. Z-one banishes "Sandaion" (Sephylon's ATK: 8000 → 4000) to prevent battle damage. Finally, Yusei returns "Red Dragon Archfiend" to the Extra Deck (Stardust Dragon's ATK: 12800 → 9800) to force "Sephylon, the Ultimate Timelord" to attack. With no other "Timelord" monsters to banish, the attack continues. (Z-one LP: 700 → 0)

Yusei wins.
