Previously featured cards

• This set was unique in introducing 08 playable character cards of various main characters of the manga, and the Toei anime. In the future OCG/TCG, similar character cards were released but as illegal and promotional cards.
• The other 32 monster cards were previously featured in the manga, and the Toei anime,
  • "Aphrodite" was the only card introduced from the Toei anime, from its episode 008, released on May 23, 1998, when it was played by a nurse puppet controlled by Ridley Sheldon.
  • The other 31 monster cards were featured in the Yu-gi-oh manga and were released in physical form for its first time in this set.
  • The set featured iconic manga monsters used by Dark Yugi, Seto Kaiba, Katsuya Jonouchi, Mai Kujaku, Pegasus J. Crawford, Insector Haga, Dinosaur Ryuzaki and Player Killer of Darkness.
