Also, sorry for not having a contest at all after our New Year's celebration.

  • I think I should note that DN might not have all the cards, but I think we should be alright. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 18:15, February 9, 2013 (UTC)
That isn't a problem. I use Pro which has the cards I need. --Evolution Is The Key 18:26, February 9, 2013 (UTC)
I have a Burning Knuckler deck, but it uses Barian's Magic, which is another option. Is that ok?--Evolution Is The Key 18:42, February 9, 2013 (UTC)
Kuri - That's fine. As for you Number, the Troposphere is the first layer of our Atmosphere here on Earth. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:21, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
February 17th, 2013. Though if memory serves right, participants can give one day late, or anytime early.--Evolution Is The Key 06:10, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
Actually, the deck submission opens once DASP adds the appropriate sections in this thread for participants. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 07:04, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
Which will probably be either Thursday or Friday. If I somehow forget, another user may add in the section, just look at previous contests to see the header layout. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:31, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
  • where do we put suggestions for cards?

--Deathpyre (talkcontribs) 19:33, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Right here. But I feel like we have too many, but suggest if you want. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 23:55, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

SharkTenjo's Deck name is exactly the same as mine, but it also fits his Deck theme. Aaaawkward... --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 10:47, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

Ooops. Im sorry. I just copied your deck template and forgot to change the title as im kinda lazy making the deck template and typing the asterisks and brackets and everything but yea lol it does fit as i am using 3 Sharks too, No.47, C32 and Bahamut. Decks

Post your respective decks below, and remember to give a short paragraph explanation of how your deck works.

Eagle Shark & Panther Shark

Okay. Panther Shark and Eagle Shark. This duo consists of LV5 monsters, each with lackluster stats. They can be Normal Summoned without Tribute if the opponent has at least 2 monsters and can Special Summon themselves if their counterpart is present. They don't like copies of themselves around so I'm best running 2 of each to avoid clogging up my hand.

Now, being LV5 monsters, the first thing I can think of is levelling them down via A Legendary Ocean, but because their ATK is so low there isn't a point doing so. Might as well run Giga Gagagigo and the like. So, instead, I'll forgo using ALO and instead make full use of their LV5 status to access Rank 5 Xyz Summons. Because their ATK is so low, I can easily search them out using Mother Grizzly, and control whether Eagle or Panther Shark appears depending on which of the duo is already present in my hand. If I actually do get both Sharks sitting in my Graveyard, Salvage can recover them with ease so I can instantly perform a Rank 5 if I have a loose Normal Summon.

But, alas, there are times when I only get one member of the duo and can't make Rank 5 successfully. This is where the third shark comes in - Man-Eating Black Shark. Summoned with Instant Fusion, MEBS can help fill in that extra monster I need to make a Rank 5 while still retaining the overall shark theme of the Deck. If the opponent is doing their fair share of Special Summoning as well, Dragon Ice can also dive in to help out with the Rank 5 summon.

This is about as far as it goes with using Panther and Eagle Shark, so the rest of the Deck follows a general Fish/WATER theme. Spear Shark goes hand-in-hand with Shark Stickers to make Rank 4 Xyz Summons, while Hammer Shark easily makes Rank 3 ones. Needle Sunfish mostly serves as fodder for Hammer Shark, but sometimes a 500 ATK reduction is enough to take out a pesky beater. Fishborg Archer also helps with making Rank 3 Summons, though it can also help serve as Tribute fodder if necessary. Spined Gillman kinda sticks out amidst the rest of the Fish, but its 400 ATK boost can prove invaluable when surmounting other beatsticks. Fish Depth Charge is a must in anything that's mostly Fish, being their trap form of Gemini Spark.

"I am a good card, not a pointless set filler. If I am to change this image, I must first be used well in a Deck. Fish are awesome, not junk." --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 07:07, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

Burning Knuckler

Well, as I have said before, Fire has been a specialty of mine for a time. So without further ado, here I add to my Fire decks.

This Birning Knuckler deck has many different strategies. They can swarm and quickly overpower. However, they also run a useful grave engine. When Glassjaw is sent to the graveyard by a card effect, I get another BK in my grave added to my hand. So I ran a small mill engine. This consists of Prominence Knight, Headgear, and Foolish Burial. And to combine also with the Mill Engine, we have Switchhitter to Special Summon any Knuckler I choose to Mill, along with Warrior Returning Alive if I am lacking Glassjaw. For the record though, Glassjaw can go by his own effect or even by an Xyz Monster detaching him. Isn't that great?

Moving on, due to it being an Archetype of warriors, I've included Rota, along with Copy Knight and some good Warrior Xyz, notably Excalibur and Ninja. The Xyz run pretty fast in this deck and make for a quick swarm Strategy.

Now, let's move on to the Spell Line-Up. As mentioned, I have ROTA and Warrior Returning Alive for some good support of warriors, along with Burial for the Mill Engine. Then we have our good old staples and one other card. Barian's Force. This makes for a good add on, especially since it allows me to run a nice Burn Strategy with the Two Chaos Xyz.

Next, the trap line up. There really isn't much to say about this, as it is simply adding defence to the Archetype, with the addition of Copy Knight for a quick Xyz.

I want to address one Question this deck may Face, I run Pyrorex because, with the constant Grave Manipulation, I can get him out quite nicely a couple of times, and he can add to my previously mentioned Burn combo.

Thank you for your time, and I hope other deckbuilders enjoyed building their deck as much as I did building mine. --Evolution Is The Key 07:02, February 17, 2013 (UTC)

Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon

So, this is not a huge surprise. I tried a lot of stuff, but they simply do not combo well with Number 107. The deck must be able to summon rank 8 Xyz monsters consistently, that narrows he choices to Gagaga, Galaxy, Dark World and Darklord/Dark and a few other decks. And of course Hieratics. Gagaga and Tachyon Dragon weaken each other, as most of the good Gagaga cards increase or decrease ATK. Darklords have their own OTK and don't need this card and I hate DW. From the beggining, I hesitated between Galaxy and Hieratic. After a very-very inconsistent Galaxy deck, I made this.

Okay monsters: this deck works well without the Tachyon Dragon, but it combos well with the Hieratic effect of 'It's ATK and DEF becomes 0". 0? I don't think so, they return to the original value. So this is the basic idea behind the deck. I summon a lot of dragons with the Hieratic effects and negate that ATK decreasing effect. The deck starts slowly, so I included Swift Scarecrow. I chose this one over Battle Fader as it may interfere with Tefnuit's self special summon effect. And here is Barbaros. It can help me to Xyz summon one of the rank 8 monsters, or if not needed for that, I can restore its ATK with Tachyon Dragon. Also, in some situations, it can be tribute summoned with 3 tributes to nuke the opponent's field (its surprising how easy to gather 3 tributes with Hieratics).

Spells: I have 3 Heavy Storms with the Wingbeats, so I don't use MST. I have Forbidden Lance, it works well with Tachyon Dragon. It can be activated during the BP when the opponent uses Mirror Force of D Prison, so I have a 3200 ATK monster that can attack twice. Or it can be used before the BP, so Tachyon Dragon's ATK will be restored and you have an almost 100% indestructable monster (other monster effects negated and is unaffected by spells and traps. Okay, Honest and Necro Gardna can stop it). Here is Inferno Reckless Summon, a card that can help you summon 3 Blue-Eyes or Wattaildragons. The other spells can get you the needed monsters from the deck.

Traps: Common Charity is for more draw power, Bribe is obvious, Return is a pretty good card, it restores my normal monsters banished for Charity or by the opponent monsters. And as the deck uses a grave a lot, the opponent may side in Macro Cosmos, and then... Surprise!

Overall, the deck is strong. It may start slowly but then it's incredibly strong. Not a really original idea, but I didn't found other decks that work well with this Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon. Maybe it worth trying with Galaxy cards, but it didn't work for me.

Rank-Up Magic - Barian's Force

So Rank-Up Magic - Barian's Force.. its used by the bad guys in the anime to make their monsters stronger. So it selects an Xyz and special summons a Chaos Xyz or Number C in the Extra Deck with 1 Rank higher but only with the same type. Chaos Xyz are bad as only Chaos Xyz: Dark Fairy Cheer Girl is the only one released so i went with the Number C route. The bad thing about them is most of them needs 1000 LP or lower except for the Burning Kucler guy which is bad so i will use them for a beatdown tactic instead and with this the Number C with the highest attack is Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss.

Shark Drake Veiss being summoned by RUM Barian's Force needs a Rank 3 Sea Serpent. Rank 3s are easy to summon but it needs Sea Serpents which is connected to the WATER attribute so with RANK 3 WATER needed, we can have an alternative by using the lovely card, Bahamut Shark. It summons a Rank 3 or lower WATER monster. The Rank 3 Sea Serpent im using is Mermail Abysstrite and Number 47: Nightmare Shark. The first problem is summoning Bahamut. I've selected some water monsters to easily summon Bahamut. Tinplate summons another WATER in hand, Mother Grizzly and Revival Jam provides defense and field presence after an opponents turn. The good thing about Revival Jam is it reduces your LP by 1000 which may help you get to the LP Requirement for the effects of Shark Drake Veiss. Aqua Spirit is easily summoned with many WATERS in the deck. Spear Shark in combination with Shark Stickers easily summons Rank 4 and Xyz Remora together with Generation Force swarms.

Xyz Remora's effect can be activated easily as this deck can make an Xyz VERY EASY like an example summoning a Nightmare Shark by using Stickers and Sunfish then detatches for Remora. Remora can summon Shark Drake (which can be used later to summon C32) and with the remaining Nightmare Shark, you can use Rank-Up Magic - Barian's Force and summon C32.

Instant Fusion summons Rare Fish for Bahamut. Moray of Greed adds speed and gets rid of the WATERS you don't need at the moment. Salvage recycles my waters and the other are now staples for the deck. Thank you and hope you like my deck. ----SharkTenjo 10:14, February 17, 2013 (UTC)
