Joey notices "Lava Battleguard" and notes that it looks familiar. Joey then takes out this card and notices both cards are similar to each other. Tristan gives "Lava Battleguard". Joey later uses this card during his Duel against Rex Raptor. During Joey's turn, he Normal Summons this card in Attack Position. This card gains a Field Power Bonus from the Forest terrain. This card and "Lava Battleguard" then gain 500 ATK via their effects. "Serpent Night Dragon" then attacks this card, but since this card had higher ATK than "Serpent Night Dragon", the latter is destroyed.
- During the next episode, "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" (whose ATK was 3000 due to the effect of "Dragon Nails") attacks and destroys this card and "Lava Battleguard".

During The Sledgehammer's turn, he Special Summons this card along with "Lava Battleguard" via the effect of "Feast of the WIld LV5", with their effects negated. The Sledgehammer then Tributes this card and "Lava Battleguard" to Tribute Summon "Battleguard King".
