Using[edit]

  • Since combo Decks usually consider this card when building their boards, it is not uncommon the opponent will have a way to negate this card before their 5th Summon. Combining this card with other hand traps, such as "Effect Veiler" and "Infinite Impermanence", allows this card to be activated at a better moment, without having to worry about the opponent negating it.
  • After activating this card's effect, if it leaves the hand before resolving (e.g. to activate the effect of "Labrynth Chandraglier"), the opponent's monsters will still be Tributed, but neither this card or the "Primal Being Token" will be Summoned. This can be useful to avoid Summoning a Token with high ATK/DEF which the player cannot get rid of.
  • This card is most effectively used against a field with plenty of Link Monsters; since they have no DEF, the Summoned "Primal Being Token" won't gain DEF from them, and can potentially be easily destroyed by battle (if Summoned in Defense Position, and assuming any other Tributed monsters had low-enough DEF).
  • This card can be effectively wielded in a "Ritual Beast" Deck, since their Extra Deck monsters can return themselves to the Extra Deck as a cost for their Quick Effects. As such, the effects of those "Ritual Beast" monsters should be activated first (returning themselves as a cost), before Chaining with this card's effect, resulting in only the opponent's monsters being Tributed.
  • After using this card's effect, during your turn, Fusion Summon "Destiny End Dragoon" (which can be easily done with "Fusion Destiny"), which can then destroy the Summoned "Primal Being Token" and inflict enough damage to win the duel if the Token's ATK is high enough.
  • This card can be versatile in "Fossil" Decks, potentially serving as a Rock-Type Fusion Material for their Fusion Monsters, or as a high-Level Fusion Material for "Fossil Warrior Skull King".
  • Being a LIGHT monster, this card can make use of "Honest", especially if battling the "Primal Being Token" it produces.
  • Since the produced "Primal Being Token" is LIGHT-Attribute, "Leeching the Light" can take advantage of its high ATK.
  • By summoning a "Primal Being Token" to either the center-left or center-right monster zone opposite to an unoccupied Extra Monster Zone, you can then summon "Relinquished Anima" to the opposite zone of that token and Equip them to it, often resulting into "Anima" gaining huge amount of ATK from the token.

Countering[edit]

  • While this card is specifically designed to counter combo Decks, some of these Decks can Summon a monster that can negate this card's effect before (or during) the player's 5th Summon (e.g. "Baronne de Fleur", "Toadally Awesome").
  • For Decks that struggle to put some form of effect negation before their 5th Summon, "Crossout Designator" can banish a copy of "Nibiru, the Primal Being" from the player's Deck in order to negate the opponent's.
  • As this card's effect Tributes face-up monsters only, "Book of Eclipse" can be chained in response to this card's effect to change the user's face-up monsters to face-down Defense Position, thus allowing the player to keep all of their non-Link Monsters, which are then changed to face-up Defense Position during the end of the turn for their effects to be used during the opponent's turn, though it comes with the drawback of letting the opponent draw a card for each monster that is flipped face-up.
  • Since this card must be able to be Summoned in order to activate its effect, cards that place Summoning restrictions on the opponent (e.g. "Gigantic Spright", "El Shaddoll Winda", Barrier Statue monsters) can prevent it from being activated.
    • Similarly, effects that prevent Tokens from being Summoned (e.g. "Token Collector") or effects that prevent cards from being Tributed (e.g. "Fog King") can achieve the same result.
  • "S:P Little Knight" can banish itself and another of the player's monsters when the opponent activates this card, allowing them to dodge this card's effect.
