"Gaia the Dragon Champion", known as "Gaia the Dragon Knight" (竜（りゅう）騎（き）士（し）ガイア Ryūkishi Gaia) in the OCG, is an archetype (TCG)/series (OCG) of Level 7 WIND Dragon Fusion Monsters closely related to the "Gaia The Fierce Knight" archetype and Curse of Dragon series.

Support for this archetype only exists in TCG Speed Duels, and consists sorely of the Skill Card "Knight of Legend". In addition, the only member that is currently legal in the format is "Gaia the Dragon Champion".

While the archetype technically has two members ("Gaia the Dragon Champion" and "Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion"), "Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons" is treated as the former while face-up on the field (as does the latter), so it also functions as one while on the field.

All three of these monsters have 2600 ATK and 2100 DEF, and similar Fusion Materials. Visually, they appear as "Gaia The Fierce Knight" riding "Curse of Dragon" or its retrains.

Indirect supportEdit

As mentioned above, only the Skill Card "Knight of Legend" supports "Gaia the Dragon Champion" as a common name string, so TCG/OCG support takes advantage of the name-changing effect common among the retrains of the original by supporting cards specifically named "Gaia the Dragon Champion" or that mention its name, which are the following:
