Machine (機械 Kikai) is a Type of Monster. It debuted in Vol.2 in OCG, Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon in the TCG, and Deck Mod Pack: Hyperspeed Rush Road!! in Rush Duel.

Overview
The Machine Type represents various machineries, including (but not limited to) robots, automata, androids, and general-purpose machines. Many appear to be classical humanoid robots (such as "Machine King"), while some are completely life-like (such as "Amazement Assistant Delia"), and others yet are very geometric (such as "Shreddder"). Machines may also resemble non-human living beings, such as many members of the "Cyber" archetype being based on animals and creatures (mostly dragons). However, not all robotic/mechanical monsters are fall under the Machine banner, with many themes of robotic/mechanical monsters being classified as other Types. The majority of Machine monsters are EARTH, DARK, or LIGHT, although there are Machines for each of the six primary Attributes.

Machine monsters and their support are typically associated with pushing for extremely high ATK, with the effects of cards like "Power Bond", "Limiter Removal", or "Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe". High-Level Machine monsters are also famous for either having absurdly high original ATK such as most members of the Supercolossal and Train series, very strong protection effects such as "Apoqliphort Towers" or "Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus", or great removal effect such as "Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star" or "Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder". "Cyber Dragon", one of the most influential monsters in the history of the OCG/TCG metagame's development, is a Machine monster.

While there are a wide array of Machine archetypes and series with diverse playstyles, many of the prominent Machine themes such as "Cyber Dragon" and Train are usually geared towards offensive gameplay, involving neutralizing the opponent's threats (usually via mass removal effect) to make way for them to deal a large amount of damage; some others such as "Machina" and "Orcust" focus on defensive grind game and utilizing various disruption effect to outlast the opponent before quickly finish them off.

In the early parts of of the original manga and anime, Machine monsters inherently had the special ability of being immunite against all type of magic, including attacks from magic users. The card "Everlasting Alloy" was partly made in reference to this fact.
