Lists

The Numbers Monsters are a series of special monsters whose names begin with No.ナンバーズ. According to the story of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, there are ninety-nine of them, but so far, only three of them are known, all of which are Exceed Monsters: "No. 39 Aspiring Emperor Hope," "No. 17 Revise Dragon", and "No. 34 Electronic Computer-Beast Tera Byte," the latter of which will be released as a V-Jump Promo in the April 2011 issue.

It seems they carry some negative effects once they run out of Exceed Material Monsters. For example, "No. 17 Revise Dragon" cannot attack directly and "No. 39 Aspiring Emperor Hope" destroys itself when it is selected as an attack target.

Story

When Astral first appears to Yuma Tsukumo in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, it is revealed that he is trying to retrieve his lost memories, which have transformed into the 99 "Numbers Cards". When they are summoned, their respective number is printed in their user's hand. It is said that these Number monsters cannot be killed with just cards in this world. However when two or more Numbers confront themselves in a Duel, they'll fight each other to consume one another. When they're defeated in a Duel, they're absorbed into Astral.

It is for this reason that Astral teams up with Yuma.

Trivia

  • So far, all revealed members of this archetype are Cover Cards.
  • If all monsters in this Archetype are shown during Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, then this Archetype will be the largest Archetype in the entire game, even topping such large Archetypes such as "Blackwings", "The Six Samurai", and "Elemental Heroes".
