Main Page Transition

Hi Dragon Master!

My name is Nathan and I'm a Wikia Helper as well as an Administrator on the Marvel and DC Databases. In order to help you guys transition to the new style of Main Page that is needed to support upcoming ads, I've created a draft of your main page in the new style. Are you able to implement the change, or did you have something different in mind? I left this message for TwoTailedFox and Deltaneos as well, since you seem to be the most active admins.

Thanks! :)

Darth Covah

Hello D.Kaiser and sorry to bother you, but I have a small question I would like to ask. You see, I would like to make a sub-page of my user page called DeckZone, where I will post my and my friends' decks for all to see and judge. Unfortunately, I do not know how, and in order not to do anything stupid and mess up this fine wiki, I thought I should ask, so as not to get flamed by an admin ... So, to the point: could you give me a template - or a general method - of making sub-pages, such as your very own Dmaster's Dueling Philosophies? I would very much appreciate it! And thanks for your time!

Deck

Uh hey I was wondering who'd you do that deck thing like they do with the characters I want to do it with my deck cause like you deck list were it shows the [show] and [hide] thing. thank you very much. Hey its me again ya You've been alot of help but one more thing I did it like on you page were its says like "your decks" Then you click on Show to show them but My doesn't hide it can you help me and take a look at it it's on my page you can't miss it. thanks. Ya thanks and could you comment on my deck cause I haven't used that one in a tournament yet. I would But it's so hard to decide which cards to replace them with any pointers? actually its also in the graveyard they act like Normal monsters.

Re:Hello again (Invader of the Throne)

The ruling is wrong - her effect targets. You can tell because it uses the word "Select".

When an effect targets, you select the card(s) when you activate the card. Then your opponent can respond. If something happens to the target between when you activate the card and when it resolves, then you don't get to select a new target.

For example, "Invader of the Throne" targets 1 monster on your opponent's field. When you flip her, you select the monster, and then your opponent can chain to the effect. If the monster is no longer on your opponent's field when "Invader of the Throne"'s effect resolves, then her effect disappears and you cannot select a new target.

Question About a Dragon

Hey Dmaster its me again, lol. I saw the White-Horned Dragon page and had 2 questions.

  • Can i even get this card? the one pictured said limited edition
  • Would it work in a GB deck(4 cards are spell/trap destroyers)

Thanx again i apreciate all the help that u have given me. MajesticGladiator 18:23, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Deckmaking

Hey Dmaster. I was actually thinking that I would stop making decks and instead refine the ones I have already made. A lot of work is on my plate other than Yugioh, and I can only make these decks in the little sparing time I have. Thanks for your eagerness, but I think deckmaking's going to be changed to deckediting. Lol. Sorry! Chris427 23:48, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Might as well scratch that. You can post any number of deck types you'd like, but don't expect me to do all of them, or all of them in a time limit. I'll keep chipping at it maybe, and some ideas I might not even do - of course, with no offense. So please, go ahead and offer some suggestions. :) I do have some time over the summer don't I? Chris427 08:54, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
  • All 7 monarchs!? Dude... q(-_-)p ... Well, if one was to use all 7 monarchs, I think the best choice possible would focus on a Dark Attribute. This is because all other Monarchs, besides Caius, do not rely on a special type, attribute, or effect. Caius mentions "Dark" in its effect and gains its full potential while played in correlation to Dark cards. In the case of a Dark deck with 7 monarchs, personally I would run a Strike Ninja + D.D. Scout Plane variant, as they are Dark attributed and can be returned from the "remove from play" section. Another way is to use Zombies, since most of the better Zombie cards are attributed to Dark. Zombies are one of the most versatile cards in the game. O_O Good luck with that man. Oh, and Treeborn Frog will obviously be needed, if you will be using that card. Chris427 00:09, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
  • You requested it; I have made it. Here it is, Cyber Deck w/o Cyberdarks.

  • I know. I put it in. That was "Eh?" as in "Eh? What do you think?" Rodtheanimegod4ever 14:38, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

REVOLUTION!

I despise Monarchs for one reason, everyone uses them. I don't hate Cyber Dragons any more. In fact I pity the cyber dragons due to the fact that there true potential is now impossible because the have been limited. Monarchs are okay if it's in a deck that matches it, but most of the time they are in Cookie Cutter decks. If they help out the deck overall, I don't care. I just got my first Monarch card and I'm thinking of placing it in my deck due to it's effect of letting me draw cards and destroy monsters.

  • Yeah, but it was an believable ending. That episode had to be the first time Light actually freaked out and lost all reason in public. The definition of irony. I've only seen one episode of code geass, but it was good.

Thanks

I only just looked at your greeting and wanted to say thanks. I have a friend that's crazy for dragons, most of all the Blue-Eyes White Dragon of which he has 128. I'm not making up that number. He also has at least one of every dragon printed in english so far, except for Des Voltglaph, Judgement Dragon, and Dark Armed Dragon. Don't even try to get even the most common dragon from him unless you give him one hell of a good deal (Like an arm and a leg, and I don't mean Exodia). As for me, I run Six Samurai. I've only recently started to use them and their working out great for me. Having 3 Grandmasters and 3 Great Shoguns is pretty good too. I use the deck in the game (2008) even though I don't have WiFi yet. Thanks for the advice on the milf cards to use against Lightsworns. I have 2 friends who use them and they're tough. Judgement Dragon is a pain but cool. I hope your suggestions help. The Light-Inprisoning Mirror should help too. I also have an incomplete beast deck. I'm still trying to get Green Baboon and I'm waiting for the english release of Beast King Barbaros. Anyway if you can think of anything else to help that would be great. I'm also looking to side deck some cards to stop that damn Dark Armed Dragon deck my other friend uses. Of course there's Shadow Inprisoning Mirror, so if they summon it, they can't use the effect. Nice talking to you and I hope we can be Yu-Gi-Oh Buddies. Talk to you later. Mastermind6656 04:10, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Dimension Fusion Status

Sorry to bother you, but I recently looked at the page of Dimension Fusion and I noticed that under the TCG Advanced status it said Limited, but on the front page and on the Forbidden list, Dimension Fusion was forbidden. I was wondering if you knew how to fix that, because I don't know how. Bluedog187 22:28, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Thanks for fixing it! Bluedog187 22:36, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I knew about white of legend, but I still think konami effed up on that and kaibaman... as for shining dragon, that's good enough. Bluedog187 05:31, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
  • If they didn't make a Jadenman, I don't think you have to worry about that, lol. Bluedog187 05:36, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
  • I have a feeling they did make a Joeyman, but in disguise...Bluedog187 05:45, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Sorry to intrude. Ehem. Kaiba's vain. And if there was a Yugiman, its effect would be: Win your next draw phase. ^.^ Chris427 05:48, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
    • But if kodd is "joey" then powd is kaiba??? And Yugiman should never be made. Dmaster (Contribs Count) 06:18, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
  • I meant how in the anime when joey plays that monster, he sort of becomes the Knight. And if a Yugiman is made, I will never forgive Konami. Bluedog187 16:48, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

fog king level up! thing

Yeah, I know it doesn't say it, but I wanted to make sure if leveling up LV monsters weren't condsidered tributed. That way I can stop Monachs and still level up my monsters.

Retro Pack

While going through the card list for Retro Pack, I foud a small mistake: Messenger of Peace is a Rare card in these packs (I know because I found one in a pack I bought), not a common one as described. Since I cannot edit this page, please see if you can do something about it! Thanks! Darth Covah 15:48, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Regionals

  • Well, I sucked at the Regionals 2 wins 6 loses! But the good news is that I bought a 36 card deck of this guy for two bucks and fixed it up, I'm still "Keeping" the phoenix deck but i'ts under construction I posted the new deck but I messed it up somewhere could you help? What to do with Counterfeits

I just bought a five pack of yugioh card packs from Wal-Mart, and one of them had nothing but counterfeits in it. What the hell am I supposed to do now? I will not accept counterfeits. At least not unless I can do something about it. Any suggestions. User:Land_of_dogs

CounterFeits

The Font on all of them is different than the rest of my collection. I even compared my The Little Swordsman Of Aile card with the one I got out of the pack, and they were different. I also got an Ultra Rare Elegant Egotist, which doesn't exist.

Thanx for Checkin In

Hey, yea im doin ok, goin bac to Pa so im hopin to pick up more cards. As for tht page it linked to tht table u added to my page so iv seen it i was thinkin bout some of it but im tryin to be as original as possible tho i will put those in if need be. I kno ur sick of me askin u stuff lol, but i had 2 questions tht u mite be able to answer.

  • is it possible to run a GB deck in a similar way to a Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon deck: in otherwords focusing MOSTLY on powering up one monster?

well thanx again for checkin in. MajesticGladiator 03:54, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Didnt read it anywhere thts y i asked
  • Yea i guess u could say tht, altho it wasnt as random as u think. first off i was originaly goin for a greek/roman myth thing(kinda looks like chimera/mantacore). second a GB deck is almost totaly special summons so i thought throwin a no tribute normal summon THT strong cldnt hurt. MajesticGladiator 04:50, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Ohka's effect says tht he can be summoned w/o tribute but if he is he goes to the graveyard at the end phase.
  • Thanx i didnt think so i just wanted to make sure, good luck with ur GB deck. MajesticGladiator 05:27, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Re:Red-Eyes

Yeah, go ahead. Can't wait to see it! Bluedog187 03:42, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Well, I'd rather stick to close to 40 cards...but 60 is way too much. Anyway, for having built it quickly, the deck looks pretty good. There's a few OCG-only cards that I probably won't ever get to use (I'm too American for them, lol) but it's no big deal...sorry, kinda rambled there. Bluedog187 04:30, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Yep, I read that before. The deck you built has a whole bunch of classifications; DARK, Dragons, Red-Eyes, Cyberdark, etc. The only trouble I would have in building a deck like that is getting Cyberdark Impact!, costs way too much for me (don't have a job; parents would never pay that much for 1 card). Oops, rambled again...Bluedog187 04:39, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
  • 45 cards is ok, I'd rather focus on the Cyberdarks, since there's way more to work with, and Overload Fusion is a good idea. Bluedog187 05:01, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Um

  • Probably not a big deal, but you posted a welcome message on this person's page instead of their talk page. Bluedog187 05:30, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Back from my vacation

I went on a long vacation to the Mexican paradise, Veracruz. It was funny (Some problems appeared but in the end they were fixed and everything was alright). Stardust is my favorite one, about the questions, Trade-In is an useful tool, I see you have it in your deck now, good choice, as about the other question, I feel you lack Spells and Traps so I'll go with 1M2S2T. Oh well that's the thing for now, how have you been recently? I'll go back to school in three days, this time I have to work (Last time in school I only went there to play and almost got the year lost, well, I've promised it won't happen again.) --Dragon Slayer (Contribs Count) 16:48, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Site Idea

Hey D. I've been thinking of ways to promote community deckmaking, and I decided that competitions (perhaps weekly) can be taken place in some area of the website. Here's how an example weekly deckmaking competition would work out. Every week there would be a theme that will be posted on the designated page. Entrants can then submit their deck ideas on a separate part of the page by the given deadline. Afterwards, I, along with a panel of judges, would critique each deck depending on a given criteria. The only thing is that there really isn't no prize - just an honor to have won a weekly competition. I was wondering if that would be enough motivation for people to join. Anyway, I thought I'd ask you since you might know how we could operate this program, and how to publicize it. A group of people including you could run it, perhaps? Reply soon! Chris427 21:28, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

  • Never mind. It got approved by TwoTailedFox already. Here is the link for the competition: Weekly Deck Competition. I need a way to publicize it soon. Tell me if you want to be on the panel of judges! It'll be great having you on it. Chris427 23:30, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Deck V.2

Uhhh... ok. I'm on it. Chris427 02:34, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

  • Ok. So basically I read up on Cyberdarks, did some relay checks with other Cyberdark decks, and decided to build one that hasn't been built before. Here is your Dragons of Darklight Version 2, tournament style. It's dramatically different, but it is the strongest I can think of. I'm having it undergo edit-checks with people down at the other forums I help out in (Yugioh Card Maker Forum), so it still may be subject to change. The one condition I'm having for you to do is that I'm leaving you the responsibility of figuring out how to use your cards to the best possible way. It's there - but you should be able to recognize the relations between everything quickly. Simple enough for a simple service, right? :)
Dragons of Darklight V.2

Cheers. Chris427 04:34, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

  • PS: You know... don't feel bad about losing to Lightsworns and Gladiator Beasts. Sometimes it's inevitable. They're just too broken. :/ I can't guarantee that you will win with this deck most of the time, but obviously you should know that already. But it should do better than the one you have now. Chris427 04:35, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Fixed something. I'm putting in 1 EH Prisma to annoy you. It'll work well though. Chris427 04:43, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Alphanumeric text and Side Decks

response to both your questions.

  • I dunno why they add they add English text to Japanese episodes. Possibly to embrace other cultures. It may have been better, if they hadn't bothered over the last few months since they gave us the wrong spellings for Atlas, Rua and Ruka.
  • I had thought about adding Side Deck (and Fusion) to Decklist collapsibles before, but since a Side Deck uses Monsters, Spell & Trap, I thought just doing two of {{Decklist}}; one for Deck and one for Side Deck would be sufficient. -- Deltaneos (talk) 17:46, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
It became normal? I hadn't heard of the cubs... until you mentioned them just there. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:28, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Different Dimension Capsule

  • I can answer one of the questions you asked. If a card is removed from play face-down, it is for all intents and purposes erased from the game. "Different Dimension Capsule" can get it back with its own effect, but it is otherwise impossible to verify what kind of card it is so you can't access it. :( Not sure on the BESD question, though. Danny Lilithborne 04:25, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Sorry to intrude, but BESD can negate Magic Cylinder. It can do that because MC targets the monster whose attack it negates and BESD negates effects that target it. Bluedog187 04:32, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: WTH

1) "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" can negate "Magic Cylinder", since "Magic Cylinder" targets. 2) No. The card chosen by "Different Dimension Capsule" is placed face-down, so you don't know if it's a Monster, Magic, or Trap card. Since you don't know what it is, you can't Summon it.

And you're welcome. --Deus Ex Machina 04:55, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

  • F***...(sigh). Err, I mean --
    • 1) I'm not that good at making decks - I know how the cards work, but I don't know how to get the cards to work well together. If you really want my unexpert opinion, try adding in "Birthright" or "Call of the Haunted", or something that can revive monsters. If you're using OCG cards, try "White of Legend", for obvious reasons. Other than that, maybe take out "Van'Dalgyon" (is four Counter Traps enough to get his effect?) or "Skill Drain" (since it takes out all "Cyberdark"s and "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon").
    • 2) "Skill Drain" takes a while to explain, but here are some basic guidelines:
      • "Skill Drain" negates Continuous Effects, if the monster is on the field.
      • "Skill Drain" does not stop you from activating effects in the first place, and it doesn't negate costs.
      • If a monster is face-up on the field when its effect begins resolving, then its effect is negated.
    • As an example, it won't stop "Kaibaman". You can activate his effect and Tribute him, and he's not face-up on the field when his effect begins resolving, so it's not negated. It won't stop the "Gladiator Beast"s tag-in/tag-out effect, since it's a cost to return the Beast to the deck (so it's not face-up when its effect begins resolving, so it's not negated). It will stop the "Lightsworn" monsters' milling effects, since the milling isn't a cost (for most of them). It won't stop Summon effects like "Cyber Dragon", and it won't stop most "When this card is sent to the Graveyard, ..." effects. --Deus Ex Machina 20:26, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

  • *smacks forehead* Okay, let's try this again.
•"BESD" won't gain ATK and can't negate cards. You can still Summon him.
•You can still summon "Van'Dalgyon", but his other effect will be negated.
•"Exploder Dragon" will destroy the monster, but you'll take Battle Damage.
•"King of the Swamp" won't get his Substitute effect when he's face-up on the field, but everything else will work.
•"Summoner of Illusions" won't work, and you'll still have to Tribute a monster (since it's mandatory).
•"Paladin of White Dragon" won't kill Defence monsters, but you can Tribute him and Summon "BEWD".
•"Cyber Valley"'s second and third effects are negated, but his first will still work (since it's a cost to remove him).
•You can activate "Elemental Hero Prisma"'s effect and send a monster to the Graveyard, but he won't get the name. But, if you activate his effect and then activate "Skill Drain", he'll keep the name until the end of the turn.
•All "Cyberdark" monsters, "Prime Material Dragon", "Dragon Master Knight", and "Five-Headed Dragon" won't at all.
•"Masked Dragon", "Kaibaman", and "Twin-Headed Behemoth" are fine.
  • I'm not sure what's good against what, but I hear that "Light Imprisoning Mirror" is usually good against "Lightsworns". Other than that, you might want to try "Divine Wrath", since it'll stop most of those effects.
  • Lastly, "Light-Imprisoning Mirror" doesn't target, so "BESD" can't negate it. --Deus Ex Machina 14:00, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
