WC4 card list

Theme: List of Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2004 cards, latest changes "So you better like an empty page?! Where's the sense in that?" P.Josiger (P.josiger (talkcontribs) 21:15, February 7, 2014 (UTC))

I never said anything about having a preference on empty versus non-empty pages. Our video game card list pages are populated by Semantic Mediawiki, which uses the information stored on individual card pages to decide which cards are listed and what information is shown for them. If you'd like to add entries to the list, therefore, you should add the appropriate information to individual pages:
  • The number is added via wc4number.
  • The name - if different from the card's current English name - is added via wc4name.
  • The lore - which should be added even if it's identical to the current English lore - is added via wc4lore.
  • The status - which should also be added in all cases - is added via wc4status.
  • The sets are added via wc4_sets (this is also where the card's rarity is added).
At some point, we'll be getting a template for the World Championship game series similar to {{DOR card}}, at which point all the WC card info will be split out to separate articles, as has been done for DOR cards; if you'd like to help with that, you'd be more than welcome, but I can't say when it'll actually happen. In the meantime, if you need any help or have any questions, I'd be happy to help you out more. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:26, February 7, 2014 (UTC)
So why not letting my added booster pack lists on the page rather than a almost empty table on the side until the template for the WC series will arive? I don't wanna spend my time typing in the stat of all the cards... people can easily see the stats if they follow the link that the cards name represents.(P.josiger (talkcontribs) 22:08, February 7, 2014 (UTC))
The information is added to each individual card page, and the list will then automatically pull in the newly-added info. The booster packs should be covered in their own articles (I haven't looked to see if said articles have actually been created yet). If you really don't want to spend time adding this information just because you'd have to do so in a manner other than how you want to, that's your prerogative. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 23:46, February 8, 2014 (UTC)
I have to appologize for my aggressive comments before. Guess I just needed some sleep ;) Until now I didn't understand the way the Semantic Mediawiki works. Now that I do, I have copied my card lists to individual Booster-Pack pages. Hope this is correct now. (P.josiger (talkcontribs) 14:10, February 9, 2014 (UTC))
No problem, don't worry about it. =) Aside from some formatting quibbles, what you're doing now is fine. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:07, February 16, 2014 (UTC)

Problem with a gallery link

The problem is with the link on Bujin Regalia - The Jewel. the link exists but it is appearing as a red link on the card's main page. Card Gallery:Bujin Regalia - The Jewel. the link is trying to point to Card_Gallery:Bujin_Regalia_-_The_Jewel,_Card_Gallery:Bujin_Regalia_-_The_Magatama

I've fixed it, but my method may not have been the best one. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 23:40, February 8, 2014 (UTC)
I'm glad you did. However which way you accomplished it I had no idea on where to even start looking for the source of the problem.

The specific problem has to do with the caching used by Semantic MediaWiki. It unfortunately is quite a bit buggier than the caching used by MediaWiki itself, and as a result sometimes old versions of pages can get "stuck" in the cache - sometimes for years - and screw up queries. The method I used to fix this specific event was to move the page back to its old title, and then re-move it to the correct title. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 07:05, February 16, 2014 (UTC)

Primal Origin List

Hi, would we be able to have the PRIO list unprotected so we can start to add the confirmed leaks onto it? Thanks. Photonkrios99 (talkcontribs) 13:39, February 12, 2014 (UTC)

Categories

Yo, would you mind adding the correct categories to this page, please? I don't really know well how to create OCG articles like that one. :P LegendaryAsariUgetsu (talkcontribs) 23:50, February 19, 2014 (UTC)

I don't know much about the set categorization scheme myself; Deltaneos went through a while back and did a bunch of recategorizing but I don't think he ever got through everything, and it hasn't been consistently applied since. The best I could suggest would be to look at similar pages when trying to figure out what categories to add; in the meantime I've done so for the PRIO guide promo page. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 15:38, February 20, 2014 (UTC)
