- "Curse of Anubis" cannot be activated in the Damage Step.
08: [Damage Step] "Grave Protector" vs "Serpentine Princess"
- If "Serpentine Princess" is destroyed by battle and shuffled into the deck by the effect of "Grave Protector", then her effect activates.
- The effect to "destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field" of "Harpies' Hunting Ground" is mandatory, so it will activate even if "Harpie Lady" or "Harpie Lady Sisters" is Special Summoned during the Damage Step.
30: [Damage Step] Can "Shadow Spell" be activated during the Damage Step or when an attack is declared?
- "Shadow Spell" can be activated both during the Damage Step and when an attack is declared. If activated when an attack is declared, then you do not enter the Damage Step. If activated during the Damage Step, then the monster's ATK decreases by 700, but you still perform Damage Calculation.
31: [Damage Step] Can "Shadow Spell" be activated during your opponent's Battle Phase's Damage Step?
- You can activate "Shadow Spell" during your opponent's Battle Phase's Damage Step, however, only the "-700" effect will be applied and you perform Damage Calculation normally. Afterwards, the targeted monster cannot attack.
44: [Damage Step] Can "Kunai with Chain" be activated during the opponent's Battle Phase?
- The effect of "Kunai with Chain" can only change a monster to Defense Position if the monster is attacking. You cannot change a monster which is not attacking to Defense Position.
- If you activate "Kunai with Chain" during the Battle Step, then you can activate its effect which changes the Battle Position. You cannot activate this effect if you activate "Kunai with Chain" during the Damage Step.
- The effect of "Kunai with Chain" does not cause a Replay.
64: [Damage Step] Can "Virus Cannon" be activated during the Damage Step?
- "Virus Cannon" cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
- If a monster like "Jinzo #7" attacks directly and "Forbidden Chalice" is activated during the Damage Step, then no replay occurs and you perform Damage Calculation normally.
- You can activate the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Guardian" during the Damage Step when the effect of an Effect Monster is activated.
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Guardian" does not target.
8397: [Damage Step] Can "Forbidden Chalice" be activated during the Damage Step?
- "Forbidden Chalice" can be activated during the Damage Step, but not during Damage Calculation or later.

- If a Trap Card is activated during the Damage Step, then you can activate the effect of "Naturia Balkion" in chain to the Trap Card. However, the effect of "Naturia Balkion" is a Spell Speed 2 Quick Effect, so you cannot activate it in chain to a Spell Speed 3 Counter Trap Card.
- If "Supervise" is sent from the field to the Graveyard during the Damage Step, then its effect will activate and will Special Summon a Normal Monster.
8764: [Damage Step] Can the effects of "Phoenix Gearfried" be activated during the Damage Step?
- The effect of "Phoenix Gearfried" which Special Summons a monster from the Graveyard cannot be activated during the Damage Step. However, the effect which negates the activation of a Spell or Trap Card which targets can be activated during the Damage Step.
8827: Please explain what is meant by "at the end of the Damage Step".
- "At the end of the Damage Step", as mentioned in the text of cards like "Legendary Jujitsu Master", occurs at the same time as "when the monster which is destroyed by battle is sent to the Graveyard". Or, if "Macro Cosmos" or "Banisher of the Radiance" is active, then this occurs at the same time as "when the monster which is destroyed by battle is removed from play".
- The effect of "Naturia Hostneedle" cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
