Jump to: navigation, search

We use a bunch of 1, 2, and 3-character abbreviations for various things, some of which are official and some not so much; they've never been reviewed to try to minimize collisions AFAIK. Bold abbreviations are official, italic are semi-official, and plain are unofficial/specific to the wiki. If an abbreviation has multiple uses of the same type/in the same section, which are split in some way between official, semi-official, and unofficial, each "level" is listed separately. Abbreviations followed by ! indicate conflicts.

  • EN - English
  • E/EU - European English
  • A/AU/OC - Australian/Oceanic English
  • F/FR - French
  • C/FC - French-Canadian
  • G/DE - German

Sets

Most 2-character set prefixes are from Series 2 sets; only one or two are from sets released afterwards. The wiki has an in-house set of often ad-hoc abbreviations used for Series 1 sets (which have no official standardized set prefixes, though some abbreviations/prefixes were published in the first two The Valuable Book volumes). Unless otherwise noted, all sets listed here are Japanese.

Other

It isn't normally as important to avoid collisions with these abbreviations, but we should still be mindful of them and avoid them where it can be reasonably managed.
