Biography
Appearance
Shun's appearance is very much similar to his anime counterpart's appearance, with being the only exception is that his coat is intact, instead of in tatters.
Personality
Unlike his anime counterpart, Shun lives for the thrill. He is obsessed with finding powerful opponents and hates people who Duel for fun. He enjoys being pushed to the edge, like being low on Life Points. According to Nico Smiley, despite being tough, smart and athletic, Shun refuses the spotlight and won't be swayed with money or begging - what he seeks are real battles. In comparison to his more stoic anime counterpart, Shun is extremely short-tempered and hot-blooded.[1]After his duel against Yuya he appears to have a change of heart and has softend up his character and personality a little.
History
Several years before the events of the manga, Shun took part in a Mental Arithmetic Tournament and won, with Yuzu being the runner-up. Three months before the events of the manga, Shun used to Duel in an Underground Duel Coliseum, where Reiji found and recruited him.[1]
Present
Once the Leo Corporation staff detected the presence of "Phantom", Reiji sent Shun, Shingo Sawatari, and Sora Shiunin to pursue him in helicopters. Reiji ordered #1, Shingo, and #2, Shun to capture "Phantom" in a pincer attack, while #3, Sora, would capture him from the sky, with Shun mentally complaining that he had to receive orders from him.[2]
After Phantom defeated Shingo, Shun and Sora attempted to catch the former, but he managed to escape using Solid Vision with Mass to decieve them.[2] Afterwards, Shun looked up information on Yuzu Hiiragi, whom he saw with Phantom, which led him to take her father, Syuzo Hiiragi, hostage in order to lure Phantom. When Yuzu and Phantom arrived, Shun released Syuzo, as he no longer needed him, and started his Duel with Phantom.[1]
During his duel, he continuously refuse Yuya's Idea of Entertainment Duel. When his LP reached 100, his hidden sadistic character surface - going relentlessly. But lose in the end.
After Sora has trapped Yuya in the lab and dueled him to some point. Sora reveal that his sister is captured by Reiji Akaba, this cause Shun to get angry at Reiji. But after Yuri revealed that's a lie, Reiji told him that he'll remember not to take hostage. Shingo laughed at him due to his failed accusation, so Shun tell him to shut up.
Deck
Like his anime counterpart, Shun uses a "Raidraptor" Deck. His ace "Template:Manga" has low original ATK but powerful effects like the anime's Raidraptors, working best when he's in a pinch with a huge LP disadvantage, reflecting Shun's thrill-seeking and challenge-loving attitude.
