"The Menace of Hope!!" is the twenty-third chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! D Team ZEXAL manga. It was first published March 3, 2014 in the Saikyō Jump magazine.
Summary
Team ZEXAL finally reaches the last Web Point, where they find the mind behind all the riot: Master Evil.
Featured Duel: Yuma Tsukumo vs. Master Evil
Turn 1: Yuma
Yuma's opening hand contains "Gagaga Magician", "ZS - Banish Sage", "Rainbow Kuriboh", "Monster Reborn" and "Swords of Burning Light". He draws "Goblindbergh". Yuma Normal Summons "Goblindbergh" (1400/0), using its effect to Special Summon "Gagaga Magician" (1500/1000) from his hand. He Overlays his two Level 4 monsters to Xyz Summon "Number 39: Utopia" (2500/2000).
Turn 2: Master Evil
Master Evil's opening hand contains "ZW - Asura Strike", "Dimensional Prison", "Sacred Serpent's Wake", "Shared Ride" and "Mind Pollutant". He draws "Mind Control" and activates it, taking control of Yuma's "Utopia". Next, he uses Yuma's "Utopia" as an Xyz Material and performs a Chaos Xyz Evolution, Xyz Summoning "Number C39: Utopia Ray" (2500/2000). Master Evil attacks Yuma directly, but Yuma activates the effect of "Rainbow Kuriboh" in his hand, equipping itself to "Utopia Ray", which prevents it from attacking.
Turn 3: Yuma
Yuma draws "Kurivolt", and Normal Summons it (300/200). Next, he activates its effect, detaching his "Utopia" from Master Evil's "Utopia Ray" in order to Special Summon a second "Kurivolt" from his Deck. He activates the effect of the second "Kurivolt", detaching "Gagaga Magician" from "Utopia Ray" to Specail Summon a third "Kurvolt" form his Deck. Yuma Overlays two Level 1 "Kurivolts" to Xyz Summon "Number 39: Utopia Roots" (500/100).
Turn 4: Master Evil
Master Evil draws "Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force" and activates it, Ranking-Up "Utopia Ray" into "Number C39: Utopia Ray V" (2600/2000). Since "Utopia Ray" became an Xyz Material, the "Rainbow Kuriboh" which was equipped to it is destroyed, also, the effect of "Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force" negates the effect of Yuma's "Utopia Roots". Master Evil equips "ZW - Asura Strike" from his hand to "Utopia Ray V", increasing its ATK by 1000 (2600 → 3600). He attacks and destroys "Utopia Roots" (Yuma 4000 → 900).
