First Series[edit]

Yu-Gi-Oh![edit]

  • In episode 1, Yami Yugi uses this card during his Duel against Seto Kaiba. After seeing his hand, Yugi concludes that the pieces are the parts of Exodia and he could win if he could get all five pieces. On the final turn, Yugi draws "Exodia the Forbidden One", As Yugi now had all five pieces in his hand, he summons "Exodia" who destroys all three "Blue-Eyes White Dragons" and wins Yugi the Duel.
  • In episode 3, Weevil Underwood asks Yugi if he could look at his Exodia pieces. Yugi does so, but right after seeing the Exodia cards, Weevil throws Yugi's Exodia cards overboard to insure that Yugi can't use them to help him win his Duels in Duelist Kingdom. Despite Joey Wheeler jumping in to try and save the cards, he only recovers two pieces.
  • In episode 55, Seeker uses this card during his Duel against Joey. After Seeker got all five piece of Exodia into his hand, he won the Duel through an Automatic Win. After the Duel, Seeker revealed to Joey he had 3 complete sets of Exodia to insure him of his victories.
  • In episode 56, during Seeker's Duel against Yami Yugi, Seeker sensed that this card that this card was the top card of his Deck while his hand held the rest of the "Forbidden One" cards. In the next episode, Seeker was prepared to draw this card, but Yugi activates "Time Seal" to prevent Rare Hunter from conducting his Draw Phase this turn. Next Yami activates "Lightforce Sword" to banish "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" from Seeker's hand for three turns. Seeker drew this card on his Draw Phase, but since he didn't have all five pieces in his hand, he couldn't get an automatic win.
  • In episode 74, this card appears within a series of flashbacks that show Yugi's first two Battle City Duels.
  • In episode 99, this card appears when Yami Yugi was building his Virtual World Deck for his Duel against Gansley.
  • In episode 108, this card appears in a flashback explained by Leichter when he reminds Seto that his birthday gift from Gozaburo Kaiba was where all the mistakes made by Seto himself began.
  • In episode 109, this card appears in a flashback Leichter has when he explains to Seto that his treachery began when Gozaburo gave him a large amount of dollars to test Seto's business skills.
  • In episode 120, Gozaburo Kaiba uses this card during his Duel against Seto Kaiba. This card, "Left Leg of the Forbidden One", "Right Leg of the Forbidden One", "Right Arm of the Forbidden One", and "Exodia the Forbidden One" were selected for the effect of "Painful Choice". Seto chooses "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" to be added to Gozaburo's hand. The remaining parts go to the Graveyard. "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" is then set in Defense Position. "Vorse Raider" then attacks and destroys "Right Arm of the Forbidden One". Gozaburo then activates "Contract with Exodia" to summon "Exodia Necross". This card grants "Exodia Necross" immunity to destruction from Effect Monster effects. In the next episode, Seto activates the effect of "Soul Demolition" five times to banish all five pieces of Exodia from the Graveyard and make "Exodia Necross" vulnerable.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX[edit]

  • In episode 127, this card was shown in Marcel Bonaparte's hand during his Duel against Adrian Gecko while the former was possessed by Yubel. Marcel was going to add "Exodia the Forbidden One" from his Deck to his hand via the effect of "Break the Seal" in order to win the Duel, but the Duel got canceled due to the Sacred Beasts being awakened. After Adrian saw Marcel's hand, he realized that Marcel would have won the Duel if "Break the Seal" had resolved.
  • In episode 144, this card was shown in Adrian's hand during his Duel against Aster Phoenix. In the next episode, Adrian activates the effect of "Ritual of the Ultimate Forbidden Lord" to return "Exodia the Forbidden One" from his Graveyard to his Deck and discard this card and "Right Arm of the Forbidden One" in order to Special Summon "Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord".
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card is shown when Adrian arrives at where Exodia is sealed off and takes out the five Exodia pieces from his Deck.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card is shown in a flashback Adrian has when he remembers Yubel telling him that his will is more immense than the gods and that not even Adrian himself can tear it down.
  • In episode 149, this card was shown in Adrian's hand during his Duel against Jesse Anderson while the latter was possessed by Yubel. He is forced to send this card from his hand to the Graveyard due to the effect of "Hand Destruction". Later Adrian activates the effect of "Ritual of the Ultimate Forbidden Lord" to return this card, "Left Leg of the Forbidden One", and "Right Leg of the Forbidden One" from his Graveyard to his Deck, discard "Exodia the Forbidden One" and "Right Arm of the Forbidden One", and Special Summon "Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord" (whose ATK became 2000 due to its fourth effect). Adrian then activates "Burden of the Mighty", which decreases the ATK of "Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder" by 1000 (as it was Level 10). "Exodius" then attacks "Hamon". Adrian then activates the third effect of "Exodius" to send this card from his Deck to the Graveyard, which increases the ATK of "Exodius" by 1000. Jesse then activates "Delta Barrier", whose effect activates the two "Delta Barriers" in Jesse's Graveyard. Jesse then activates the second effect of "Delta Barrier" to prevent "Hamon's" destruction and reduce the Battle Damage he would take to 0. Due to the first effect of "Exodius", it is not destroyed by battle either. In the next episode, Adrian activates the last effect of "Fog Castle" to send the latter and all cards from his field and hand to the Graveyard and add this card, "Right Arm of the Forbidden One", "Right Leg of the Forbidden One", and "Exodia the Forbidden One" from his Graveyard to his hand. Adrian then activates "Break the Seal" and activates the latter's effect to add "Left Leg of the Forbidden One" from his Deck to his hand, but Jesse sends "Nightmare Shuffle" to the Graveyard in order to activate "Hand Destruction", which forces both players to send four cards in his hand to the Graveyard and draw four cards. Adrian was then forced to send the four Exodia pieces in his hand to the Graveyard and draw four cards while Jesse just draws one card as he had no cards in his hand. Adrian then activates "A Feather of the Phoenix" to take "Exodia the Forbidden One" from his Graveyard and place it on top of his Deck. Adrian planned to activate "Backup Soldier" on his next turn to get the three remaining Exodia pieces in his hand and gain an Automatic Win, but Jesse defeats him before that could happen.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in Adrian's thoughts, when he reminds himself that he killed Echo in order to release Exodia.

Manga[edit]

  • In chapter 38, Yami Yugi held this card in his hand and was puzzled by it as an useless card. However, he figured it out as a Puzzle Part, like his Millennium Puzzle, and drew "Exodia the Forbidden One" to defeating Kaiba in the duel.
