Forum:Wind-Up Soldier build.

Okay. So I'm thinking of building a Wind-Up Deck which utilizes the effect of Wind-Up Soldier. Aside from Instant Fusion, what other cards can I put in? I want my deck to be versatile, that it can change from a fast swarm deck, to a slow I-will-****-your-life-points-slowly-type. Which is a advantage provided by the abundance of Wind-Up cards. Soooo. . . Any suggestions?

Hmm, you can probably tech in 2 Wind-Up Soldier, I mean in general, Wind-Ups already have the characteristics you want. They have the ability to OTK on turn 2 with 1 Wind-Up Magician and 2 Shark, which are easily searched by Wind-Up Factory. On the same note, they don't have to OTK that turn, they can summon monsters such as Tiras, Keeper of Genesis to slowly beat the opponent down or slow down the game speed with Wind-Up Zenmaines. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 12:23, October 26, 2012 (UTC)

Well, one of my main concerns is that, before finishing the OTK, my opponent uses something to break it and I would find myself in a tight spot with all of my resources gone.

I saw a build that used Cyber Dragon, Wind-Up Dog, Wind-Up Juggler, and Wind-Up Magician along with Soldier. Might want to consider Genex Ally Birdman and/or Summoner Monk as possible cards too. ---Kungfu-mama (Talk) 15:57, October 26, 2012 (UTC)

I think you have to accept that your opponent might break your OTK, it's a truth to pretty much all OTKs. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 22:16, October 26, 2012 (UTC)

Also if you're afraid of your opponent breaking your OTK, you can make a build that can OTK at times but doesn't have to. OTK's are pretty inconsistant, or thats what I have seen, and Wind-Ups do have the potential but you would be better off holding up if you think they could reverse the situation. If anything you could put Number 16: Shock Master in the extra deck and stun whatever you think would hurt you the most. If you need a framework of a Wind-Up deck I have a topic towards the top that mixes Wind-Ups with T.G. and you could tweak it to your likings. I can probably consider maining T.G. Warwolf or Summoner Monk, but I think that Genex Ally Birdman is unecessary since I already have a lot level 3 monsters. Hmm. I have 2 Tour Guide from the Underworld, 1 Tour Bus from the Underworld, and 1 Sangan, and I think that Tour Bus is too much of a dead card. What do you guys think? Should I replace it? If yes, then what card?

I'm not sure what your deck looks like at the moment, but if you're not sure about Birdman you don't have to use it, although Birdman would work nicely with in a situation like: Summon level 3 Wind-Up monster, Special Summon Shark, return Shark for Birdman, overlay Birdman with other level 3 for Zenmaity, Special Summon Shark, use Zenmaity's eff to Special Summon a level 3/4 Wind-Up from deck, then overlay that Wind-Up monster with Shark for pretty much any Xyz in your extra deck.
Other than that if you could provide a possible build that you would like to use we could help you from there. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 15:09, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks you guys. Here's my deck list. I'm still missing 2 cards on my main though.

Tell me what you guys don't like. I would appreciate the extra hand. :)

It would help if you used a deck template, since it keeps it organized. Now onto the deck, I believe that 3 Rabbits are a bit much 2 are fine, the same with MST, Tour Bus can be kinda situational although it could be an alright tech choice, Factory looks fine at 2. You could drop 1 Torrential since you could have an entire field of monsters and lose them all, so maybe Mirror Force, and how about 2 Compulsory Evacuation Device it works really well against your opponents extra deck monsters (say good bye to your opponent's Zenmaines, Gachi, and whatever else like Stardust). The extra deck seems fine, and if anything you could take out 1 Reaper from your side to free up a space. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 04:44, October 30, 2012 (UTC)

I personally like 3 Factory. Also you should use a Template:Decklist. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 12:50, October 30, 2012 (UTC)
Indeed, Ace SP, he need the third Factory to complete the recipe - he has only 39 cards in the Main Deck right now. --iFredCat 13:22, October 30, 2012 (UTC)

Well, for me it's either Fiendish Chain or Compulsory Evacuation Device. I'm thinking of maining my Cyber Dragon or Interplanetarypurplythorny Dragon what do you guys think? I'll main the other Wind-Up Factory then. Thanks, you guys! :)

You don't need either of them. Drop Cyber Dragon into the Side Deck, along with a Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. Cyber's useful when facing HERO and Geargia/Machine decks, but not that amazing when mained. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 16:47, November 3, 2012 (UTC)
