OCG Rulings

• The effect "Target 1 face-up monster you control; that target gains 300 ATK and DEF." targets 1 face-up monster you control. (If this card is activated during the Damage Step, it can be activated from the start of the Damage Step until before damage calculation.)

• The effect "When your opponent declares a direct attack while this card is in your Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard as a Normal Monster (Warrior-Type/DARK/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 300) in face-up Defense Position. (This card is not a Trap Card.) If Summoned this way, banish this card when it leaves the field." activates from the Graveyard and starts a Chain Link. (If you have multiples copies of "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" in your Graveyard, the effect of each of them can be activated in a Chain.)

• After "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is Special Summoned as a Normal Monster, it is not treated as a Trap Card. (It cannot be destroyed by "Mystical Space Typhoon". Also, it does not use any of your Spell & Trap Zones.)

• After "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is Special Summoned as a Normal Monster, it does not use any of your Spell & Trap Zones. As long as you have a free Monster Zone, this card can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard even if all of your Spell & Trap Zones are occupied.

• Book of Moon: After "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is Special Summoned as a Normal Monster, if it is flipped face-down by the effect "Book of Moon", it will be flipped face-down in the Monster Zone. (It is not Set in your Spell & Trap Zone.) After that, if it is flipped face-up, it will be still treated as a Normal Monster (Warrior-Type/DARK/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 300), but the "If Summoned this way, banish this card when it leaves the field." is no longer applied. (If it is destroyed, it will be sent to the Graveyard.)

• Card of Safe Return: "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is a Trap Card in the Graveyard. Even if "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is Special Summon from the Graveyard as a Normal Monster, the effect of "Card of Safe Return" cannot be activated.

• Dragocytos Corrupted Nethersoul Dragon: If "Dragocytos Corrupted Nethersoul Dragon" destroys a "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil treated as a Monster Card by battle, the effect of "Dragocytos Corrupted Nethersoul Dragon" cannot be activated.

• El Shaddoll Anoyatyllis: "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is a Trap Card in the Graveyard. Even if the effect of "El Shaddoll Anoyatyllis" is being applied, you can still activate the effect of "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" from the Graveyard. (When the effect resolves, "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is Special Summoned as a Normal Monster.)

• Igknight Lancer: While "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is treated as a Monster Card, it is not treated as a Trap Card. Therefore a "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" treated as a Monster Card cannot be placed on the bottom of the Deck by the effect of "Igknight Lancer".

• Performapal Elephammer: If "Performapal Elephammer" attacks "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" and its effect is activated, since "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is not treated as a Trap Card, all other Spell/Trap Cards are returned to the hand. (The battle is performed as usual.) Also, if your opponent controls a "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" treated as a Monster Card, but no Spell/Trap Cards, the effect of "Performapal Elephammer" cannot be activated.

• Royal Decree: After "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is Special Summoned as a Normal Monster, even if all Trap Card effects are negated by the effect of "Royal Decree", since "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is not treated as a Trap Card, its effect is not negated by the effect of "Royal Decree" and it remains in the Monster Zone. (When "Royal Decree" is activated, this card is not placed in your Spell & Trap Zone.)

• Royal Prison: "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is a Trap Card in the Graveyard. Even if the effect of "Royal Prison" is being applied, you can still activate the effect of "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" from the Graveyard. (When the effect resolves, "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" is Special Summoned as a Normal Monster.)

• Statue of Anguish Pattern: While you control a "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" treated as a Monster Card, the effect "If Summoned this way, this card cannot be targeted by an opponent's card effects while you control another Trap Card that is a monster." of "Statue of Anguish Pattern" is applied.

• Ultimaya Tzolkin: If "The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil" treated as a Monster Card by its own effect is targeted by "Book of Moon", it is changed to face-down Defense Position in the Monster Zone, and you cannot activate the effect of "Ultimaya Tzolkin".
