Yu-Gi-Oh!

  • This card was first used by Yugi Muto in his Duel with Arkana when he activated "Beckon to Darkness" to destroy Yugi's "Dark Magician". This card switched the target to Arkana's "Dark Magician", but Arkana negated "Beckon to Darkness"' effect with "Nightmare Chains" and used its other effect to trap Yugi's "Dark Magician" and render it incapable of defending his Life Points.
  • Yugi set this card in his first Tag duel with Kaiba against Lumis and Umbra, but did not activate it as Kaiba defeated Lumis and Umbra himself.
  • "Mystical Refpanel" is used by Yugi in his duel against a mind-controlled Joey. Right after Joey activated "Meteor of Destruction, he broke ahold of the Millennium Rod's control, returning him to normal. Yugi then activates this card, but chose to direct "Meteor of Destruction"'s effect to himself as he did not want to see Joey die. This in turn eliminated the rest of his Life Points. However Joey did not want Yugi to sacrifice himself just to save him. Joey then realized "Meteor of Destruction"'s side effect, so he used it to have "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" attack him directly, wiping out his Life Points and ending the duel in a draw. With the help of Serenity, Yugi and Joey were able to free themselves from their restraints.
  • In episode 109, this card appears in a flashback Leichter has when he explains to Seto that his treachery began when Gozaburo gave him a large amount of dollars to test Seto's business skills.
  • In episode 143, this card appears in a flashback Yugi has when he remembers winning Joey back from Marik's mind control and telling him they defeated Marik together.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

  • In episode 75, this card appears in a flashback Tyranno Hassleberry has when he recognizes the top of the tower location as the place where Yami Yugi and Kaiba had to team up in Tag Team Duel to defeat Lumis and Umbra.
  • During episodes 168 and 179, this card can be seen in a display case among others as part of a replica of Yugi Muto's Deck.
  • "Mystical Refpanel" seemed to be a Continuous Trap Card that sealed the card, and allowed the user to activate that card as if it were his own at a time of his choosing.
