Jaden and Sartorius' Duel is a Duel in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime between Jaden Yuki and Sartorius.
Duel[edit]
Turn 1: Jaden
Jaden draws "Elemental Hero Bubbleman". Jaden's hand contains "E - Emergency Call", "Elemental Hero Burstinatrix", "Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird", "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin", and "R - Righteous Justice". Jaden then Normal Summons "Elemental Hero Bubbleman" (800/1200) in Attack Position. Since "Bubbleman" was summoned while it was the only card on Jaden's side of the field, its second effect activates, allowing Jaden to draw two cards (one of which is "Bubble Blaster"). Jaden then activates "Bubble Blaster", equipping it to "Bubbleman", increasing its ATK by 800 ("Bubbleman": 800 → 1600/1200).
Turn 2: Sartorius
Sartorius draws "Arcana Force VII - The Chariot" and subsequently Normal Summons it (1700/1700) in Attack Position. Since "The Chariot" was summoned, it begins to rotate. It lands upright, so if "The Chariot" destroys a monster in battle and sends it to the Graveyard, Sartorius can Special Summon that monster to his side of the field.
"The Chariot" attacks "Bubbleman", but Jaden destroys "Bubble Blaster" to prevent "Bubbleman's" destruction and reduce the Battle Damage from the attack to 0. Since one of Sartorius's monsters failed to destroy a monster in battle this turn, Sartorius activates "Divination of Fate" to Special Summon "Arcana Force VI - The Lovers" (1600/1600) in Defense Position. Since "The Lovers" was summoned, it begins to rotate. It lands upright, so Sartorius may treat it as two Tributes for the summon of an "Arcana Force" monster.
Turn 3: Jaden
Jaden draws. He then activates "E - Emergency Call" to add "Elemental Hero Avian" from his Deck to his hand. Jaden then activates "Double Fusion" to pay 500 Life Points (Jaden 4000 → 3500) and allow himself to Fusion Summon twice this turn. Jaden then uses the effect of "Double Fusion" to fuse "Avian" with "Elemental Hero Burstinatrix" in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman" (2100/1200) in Attack Position. Jaden then uses the effect of "Double Fusion" to fuse "Flame Wingman" with "Elemental Hero Sparkman" in order to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman" (2500/2100) in Attack Position. Due to the effect of "Shining Flare Wingman", it gains 300 ATK for each Elemental Hero in Jaden's Graveyard. There are four, so "Shining Flare Wingman" gains 1200 ATK ("Shining Flare Wingman": 2500 → 3700/2100).
"Shining Flare Wingman" attacks and destroys "The Chariot" (Sartorius 4000 → 2000). Since "Shining Flare Wingman" destroyed a monster in battle and sent it to the Graveyard, its effect activates, inflicting damage to Sartorius equal to the original ATK of "The Chariot" (Sartorius 2000 → 300). Jaden then switches "Elemental Hero Bubbleman" to Defense Position and Normal Summons "Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird" (800/600) in Defense Position. Jaden then activates "Air Hummingbird's" effect to increase his Life Points by 500 for each card in Sartorius' hand. Sartorius has three cards in his hand, so Jaden gains 1500 Life Points (Jaden 3500 → 5000).
Turn 4: Sartorius
Sartorius draws "Light Barrier" and subsequently activates it. Upon activation, "Light Barrier" begins to rotate. It lands right side-up, so the effects of all non-Arcana Force monsters are negated. The remaining effects of "Light Barrier" are revealed in the next episode. Since the effects of "Shining Flare Wingman" are negated, its ATK decreases to its original value ("Shining Flare Wingman": 3700 → 2500/2100). Due to the last two effects of "Light Barrier", Sartorius can now choose which effects to apply to his Arcana Force monsters without having to rotate them and when a monster destroys another monster in battle, the controller of the monster that destroyed the other monster will gain Life Points equal to the original ATK of the destroyed monster. Sartorius then Tributes "Arcana Force VI - The Lovers" to summon "Arcana Force XXI - The World" (3100/3100) in Attack Position. Since "The World" was summoned, Sartorius uses the effect of "Light Barrier" to give "The World" its Heads effect. Now during each Sartorius's End Phases, he can send two monsters he controls to the Graveyard in order to skip Jaden's next turn. "The World" attacks and destroys "Shining Flare Wingman" (Jaden 5000 → 4400). The effect of "Light Barrier" activates (Sartorius 300 → 2800). Sartorius then Sets a card.
Turn 5: Jaden
Jaden draws "Hero Signal". Jaden's hand contains "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin" and "R - Righteous Justice". Jaden then activates "R - Righteous Justice" to destroy a Spell/Trap Sartorius controls for every "Elemental Hero" monster he controls. As Jaden controls one, he will destroy one Spell/Trap and he chooses to destroy "Light Barrier", but Sartorius activates "Emperor's Staff" to prevent his cards from being destroyed by card effects this turn at the cost of allowing Jaden to draw a card ("H - Heated Heart"). Jaden Normal Summons "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin" (600/800) in Defense Position.
Turn 6: Sartorius
Sartorius draws. On Sartorius's Standby Phase, "Light Barrier" rotates, as its effects must be reconfirmed each turn. It lands upright, so it retains its effects. Sartorius then Normal Summons "Arcana Force IV - The Emperor" (1400/1400) in Attack Position. Since "The Emperor" was summoned, Sartorius uses the effect of "Light Barrier" to give "The Emperor" its Heads effect. Now all of Sartorius's Arcana Force monsters will gain 500 ATK ("The Emperor": 1400 → 1900/1400; "The World": 3100 → 3600/3100). "The World" attacks and destroys "Air Hummingbird". The effect of "Light Barrier" activates (Sartorius 2800 → 3600). "The Emperor" attacks and destroys "Bubbleman". The effect of "Light Barrier" activates (Sartorius 3600 → 4400).
Turn 7: Jaden
Jaden draws "Hero Counterattack". He then Sets a card.
Turn 8: Sartorius
Sartorius draws "Cup of Ace". On Sartorius's Standby Phase, "Light Barrier" rotates, as its effects must be reconfirmed each turn. It lands upright, so it retains its effects. Sartorius then activates "Cup of Ace", which rotates upon activation. It lands upright, so Sartorius draws two cards ("Arcanatic Doomscythe" and "The Material Lord"). Sartorius then activates "Arcanatic Doomscythe" by sending "Arcana Force VIII - The Strength" from his Deck to the Graveyard. Now if Sartorius destroys a monster Jaden controls by battle and sends it to the Graveyard this turn, Jaden will take damage equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster. "The Emperor" attacks and destroys "Aqua Dolphin". The effect of "Arcanatic Doomscythe" activates (Jaden 4400 → 3800). The effect of "Light Barrier" activates (Sartorius 4400 → 5000). "The World" attacks Jaden directly, but Jaden activates "Hero Signal" to summon "Elemental Hero Clayman" (800/2000) in Defense Position. A replay occurs and Sartorius uses "The World" to attack and destroy "Clayman". The effect of "Arcanatic Doomscythe" activates (Jaden 3800 → 3000). The effect of "Light Barrier" activates (Sartorius 5000 → 5800).
Turn 9: Jaden
Jaden draws "Pot of Greed" and subsequently activates it to draw two cards ("Elemental Hero Neos" and "O - Oversoul"). Jaden then activates "O - Oversoul" to Special Summon "Elemental Hero Sparkman" (1600/1400) from his Graveyard in Attack Position. Jaden then activates "H - Heated Heart" to increase "Sparkman's" ATK by 500 ("Sparkman": 1600 → 2100/1400) until the End Phase and allowing "Sparkman" to inflict piercing damage this turn. "Sparkman" attacks and destroys "The Emperor" (Sartorius 5800 → 5600). The effect of "Light Barrier" activates (Jaden 3000 → 4400). Jaden then Sets a card. On Jaden's End Phase, the effect of "H - Heated Heart" expires ("Sparkman": 2100 → 1600/1400).
Turn 10: Sartorius
Sartorius draws. On Sartorius's Standby Phase, "Light Barrier" rotates, as its effects must be reconfirmed each turn. It lands upside down, so its effects are negated until Sartorius's next Standby Phase. "The World" attacks and destroys "Sparkman" (Jaden 4400 → 2900). Since an Elemental Hero on Jaden's side of the field was destroyed in battle, Jaden activates" Hero Counterattack" to force Sartorius to randomly choose one card in Jaden's hand. If it's an Elemental Hero, Jaden can summon it and destroy one of Sartorius' monsters. Jaden reveals that the only card in his hand is "Elemental Hero Neos", so Sartorius has no choice but to pick it. Because of this, "The World" is destroyed and Jaden Special Summons "Neos" (2500/2000) in Attack Position.
Turn 11: Jaden
Jaden draws "Neo-Spacian Glow Moss" and subsequently Normal Summons it (300/900) in Attack Position. Jaden then Contact Fuses "Neos" with "Glow Moss" in order to Special Summon "Elemental Hero Glow Neos" (2500/2000) in Attack Position. Jaden then activates the effect of "Glow Neos" to destroy one card on Sartorius's side of the field and apply an appropriate effect based on its type. Jaden chooses to destroy "Light Barrier", so "Glow Neos" can attack directly this turn. "Elemental Hero Glow Neos" attacks Sartorius directly (Sartorius 5600 → 3100). On Jaden's End Phase, "Glow Neos" returns to Jaden's Fusion Deck due to its first effect.
Turn 12: Sartorius
Sartorius draws "Arcana Force I - The Magician" and subsequently Normal Summons it (1100/1100) in Attack Position. Since "The Magician" was summoned, it begins to rotate. It lands upright, so when Jaden activates a Spell Card, "The Magician's" original ATK will be doubled until the End Phase. "The Magician" attacks Jaden directly (Jaden 2900 → 1800). Sartorius then Sets two cards.
Turn 13: Jaden
Jaden draws "Hero Flash!!" and subsequently activates it to remove from play "H - Heated Heart", "E - Emergency Call", "R - Righteous Justice" and "O - Oversoul" from his Graveyard in order to Special Summon "Elemental Hero Neos" from his Deck (2500/2000) in Attack Position. The effect of "Arcana Force I - The Magician" activates ("The Magician": 1100 → 2200/1100). Sartorius assumes that Jaden is going to use "Neos" to attack "The Magician", but Jaden explains that due to the last effect of "Hero Flash!!", Elemental Hero Normal Monsters can attack directly this turn. "Neos" attacks Sartorius directly (Sartorius 3100 → 600). On Jaden's End Phase, the effect of "The Magician" expires ("The Magician": 2200 → 1100/1100).
Turn 14: Sartorius
Sartorius draws "Magician's Scales" and subsequently activates it to Tribute "The Magician" and add "The Sky Lord" from his Deck to his hand. Sartorius then activates "The Material Lord" since he has at least one Level 4 or below Arcana Force Monster in his Graveyard. He then activates "The Spiritual Lord" since he has at least one Level 5 or 6 Arcana Force monster in his Graveyard. Finally, Sartorius then activates "The Sky Lord" from his hand since he has at least one Level 7 or above Arcana Force Monster in his Graveyard.
Sartorius then activates the final effect of the final effect of "The Sky Lord", sending "The Material Lord", "The Spiritual Lord", and "The Sky Lord" to the Graveyard in order to Special Summon "Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler" (4000/4000) in Attack Position. Since "The Light Ruler" was summoned, it begins to rotate, it lands upright, so when "The Light Ruler" destroys a monster in battle and sends it to the Graveyard, Sartorius can select a card from his Graveyard and add it to his hand. "The Light Ruler" attacks and destroys "Neos" (Jaden 1800 → 300).
Since "The Light Ruler" destroyed a monster in battle and sent it to the Graveyard, its Heads effect activates, allowing Sartorius to add "Light Barrier" from his Graveyard to his hand. Sartorius then Sets a card.
Turn 15: Jaden
Jaden draws "Fifth Hope" and subsequently activates it to return Elemental Heroes "Avian", "Burstinatrix", "Clayman", "Bubbleman" and "Sparkman" from his Graveyard to his Deck and draw 3 cards (as he had no cards in his hand and no other cards on the field when he activated "Fifth Hope"). Jaden's hand contains "Neo Space", "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole", and "Silent Doom".
Jaden then activates "Neo Space". Now "Elemental Hero Neos" and any Fusion Monsters who use "Elemental Hero Neos" as a Fusion Material Monster gain 500 ATK and "Neos" Fusion Monsters on the field do not have to return to the Fusion Deck during the End Phase due to their effects. Jaden then activates "Silent Doom" to Special Summon "Neos" (2500/2000) from his Graveyard in Defense Position. Jaden then Normal Summons "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole" (900/300) in Attack Position. He then Contact Fuses "Neos" with "Grand Mole" in order to Special Summon "Elemental Hero Grand Neos" (2500 → 3000/2000) in Attack Position.
Jaden then activates the effect of "Grand Neos" in order to return "The Light Ruler" to Sartorius' hand, but Sartorius activates "Reversal of Fate" to reverse the direction of "The Light Ruler", making it upside down. Due to the Tails effect of "The Light Ruler", the effect of "Grand Neos" is negated and "Grand Neos" is destroyed. After that resolves, "The Light Ruler" loses 1000 ATK ("The Light Ruler": 4000 → 3000/4000) and Jaden is allowed to draw one card ("Reverse of Neos").
Jaden then activates "Reverse of Neos" to Special Summon "Elemental Hero Neos" (2500/2000) from his Deck in Attack Position with 1000 more ATK (2500 → 3000 → 4000/2000). "Neos" attacks and destroys "The Light Ruler" (Sartorius 600 → 0).
Jaden wins.
