Chameleon Decks gain advantage by recycling Normal Monsters with "[[Sickleon]]" and "[[Hot Flameleon]]", while rapidly sending cards from the top of the Deck to the Graveyard and paying LP to fuel the effects of their boss monsters, "[[Ecdysis Caliguleon]]" and "[[Predator Gunleon]]", which become stronger with more cards in the Graveyard and lower LP, respectively. Due to the heavy-milling nature of the playstyle and the effect of "Caliguleon", the theme is one of the few which can still feasibly be ran with more than 40 cards.

"Sickleon" is extremely important in the early game due to its LP cost unlocking the effects of most of the other members and recovering Normal Monsters to be used for Tribute/discard fodders. "[[Enraged Scale Liberation]]" not only mills cards to fuel the ATK of "Caliguleon", it also lets all the members potentially gain additional ATK, and during early game, it can be used to setup the Graveyard and opens up the effects of "Hot Flameleon" and "Metal Megaleon" by reducing the user's LP. "[[Explosive Rage]]" is an excellent spot removal that can hit even Level 9 or higher monsters, at the cost of using up 2 Reptiles from the hand.

"[[Third Coming of the Reptilian Count]]" can also be effectively used in the Deck to grant easy revival in cases of "Caliguleon" getting destroyed or milled.

Chameleon (レオン Reon) is a series of Reptile Type monsters with various Attributes used by Yuga Goha in the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime.

Members[edit]

Monsters of the series appear as monstrous chameleons and possess varying Attributes, most likely referring the color-changing ability possessed by many real-life chameleons. All Level 4 or lower members of the series have one-word portmanteau names, while the Level 5 or higher members have two-word names, with the second word being portmanteaus.

Playing style[edit]

Chameleon Decks gain advantage by recycling Normal Monsters with "Kamaleon" and "Fiery Infernleon", while rapidly sending cards from the top of the Deck to the Graveyard and paying LP to fuel the effects of their boss monsters, "Ecdysis Caesarleon" and "Predator Gunleon", which become stronger with more cards in the Graveyard and lower LP, respectively. Due to the heavy-milling nature of the playstyle and the effect of "Caesarleon", the theme is one of the few which can still feasibly be ran with more than 40 cards.

"Kamaleon" is extremely important in the early game due to its LP cost unlocking the effects of most of the other members and recovering Normal Monsters to be used for Tribute/discard fodders. "Release Wrath" not only mills cards to fuel the ATK of "Caesarleon", it also lets all the members potentially gain additional ATK, and during early game, it can be used to setup the Graveyard and opens up the effects of "Fiery Infernleon" and "Metal Megaleon" by reducing the user's LP. "Fire Wrath" is an excellent spot removal that can hit even Level 9 or higher monsters, at the cost of using up 2 Reptiles from the hand.

Outside of the theme, "Rocketortoise Modularchelon" can be used as an additional boss (or even a replacement for "Gunleon" if one does not like how it plays), which can use its effects to sacrifice small fries on the user's field in exchange of skyrocketing its ATK for the turn. "Third Coming of the Reptilian Count" can also be effectively used in the Deck to grant easy revival in cases of "Caesarleon" getting destroyed or milled.

Trivia[edit]

  • Just like how Yuga Goha contrasts Yuga Ohdo in various ways, this series also contrasts Yuga Ohdo's "Sevens Road" series.
    • Both series have a DARK monster as a boss, but while the "Sevens Road" series are all DARK Spellcaster monsters, the Chameleons are Reptiles, and have a member for each standard Attribute in the game.
    • Both series' boss monster power themselves up in accordance to cards in the Graveyard, but while "Sevens Road Magician" powers himself up temporarily and in larger amount per variable according to the amount of different monster Attributes in the user's Graveyard, "Ecdysis Caesarleon" powers itself up continuously and in smaller amount per variable according to the amount of cards in the user's Graveyard.
  • "Mechaleon" is the only member of the theme that originated from the OCG/TCG; the other members are all Rush Duel originals.
