- This effect can only be activated once per Damage Step.[1]
Q&A Rulings
- Q: Can you Chain something like "Rush Recklessly" to the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily"?
- A: During the Damage Step, cards like "Rush Recklessly" can only be activated before damage calculation. You cannot Chain "Rush Recklessly" to the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily" which activates during damage calculation.[2]
- Q: Can the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily" be activate more than once during the same Battle Phase?
- A: This effect can be activated more than once during the same Battle Phase, but not during the same Damage Step. This effect can only be activated once per battle. Therefore, when you attack with "Injection Fairy Lily" you can only activate its effects once, and when it is attacked, you can activate its effects once for each monster that attacked it.[3]
- Q: When paying LP to make your LP exactly 0, when do you lose the Duel?
- A: If your LP becomes 0 to pay a cost, then you will immediately lose the Duel. Therefore, if you have exactly 3000 LP, you can activate her effect, but you lose the Duel immediately before damage calculation.[4]
- Q: During damage calculation in the Damage Step, can you make multiple chains?
- A: You can only have one Chain during damage calculation. For example, if the effects of "Kuriboh" and "Injection Fairy Lily" are activated, the effect of "Kuriboh" can be activated in a Chain to the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily", but the effect of "Kuriboh" cannot be activated in a new Chain after the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily" resolves.[5]
- Q: Can "Divine Wrath" and "Gladiator Beast War Chariot" be activated during the Damage Step?
- A: You can activate "Divine Wrath" and "Gladiator Beast War Chariot" during the Damage Step in chain to an Effect Monster's effect. You can also activate these cards during damage calculation, for example, in chain to the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily".[6]
- Q: I attacked my opponent's "Injection Fairy Lily" with "Performapal Odd-Eyes Minitaurus". In this case, if the effects of both of those monsters are activated during damage calculation, how is the Chain built?
- A: The effect of "Performapal Odd-Eyes Minitaurus" that can be activated during damage calculation is a Trigger Effect, whereas the effect of Injection Fairy Lily is a Quick Effect. Therefore, in this scenario, you will first choose whether or not to activate the effect of "Performapal Odd-Eyes Minitaurus", and if you do, your opponent can chain the effect of Injection Fairy Lily to it. The effect of "Performapal Odd-Eyes Minitaurus" cannot be activated by chaining to the effect of Injection Fairy Lily.[7]
- Q: "Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon" is face-up in my opponent's Monster Zone. In this situation, during my Main Phase 1, I activate the effect of "Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora" targeting my "Injection Fairy Lily". If my "Injection Fairy Lily" battles this turn, can I activate its effect during damage calculation?
- A: In this scenario, the effect of your opponent's "Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon" prevents you from activating monster effects during the Battle Phase. Therefore, you cannot activate the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily".[8]
TCG Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Konami before the introduction of Problem-Solving Card Text. Since the introduction of the new text structure, individual card rulings for the TCG are no longer issued or actively maintained.[9] They have never been formally overturned as a whole and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules and do not contradict card text. |
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Turbo Rocket: If “Turbo Rocket” attacks “Injection Fairy Lily” and the controller of “Injection Fairy Lily” pays 2000 LP to activate its effect, the damage dealt by the effect of “Turbo Rocket” will be 200 because it looks at the ATK of the monster after damage calculation is over.
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[10] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - You can activate this card's effect during both players' Damage Steps, at damage calculation. You can activate it only once per Damage Step, but if "Injection Fairy Lily" is involved in multiple battles in the same turn, you can activate it once during each battle.
- The ATK increase only lasts for that 1 Damage Steps. If this card is involved in multiple battles during the same turn, you must pay 2000 LP each battle if you wish to keep increasing its ATK.
- Activating this card's effect does not cause a replay.
- You may activate this card's effect even when it is attacking directly.
- If your "Injection Fairy Lily" is in battle with the opponent's "Injection Fairy Lily" the turn player must decide to use its effect or not first. The opponent can then activate their "Injection Fairy Lily" effect. If both effects are activated, it forms a chain.
- If this card is equipped with "Heart of Clear Water" and you activate its effect to increase its ATK, the "Heart of Clear Water" is immediately destroyed.
- The effect of "Mirror Wall" will reduce "Injection Fairy Lily"'s ATK by half before you decide to use its effect or not. So if you activate its effect, its ATK will be 3200. If 2 copies of "Mirror Wall" are active, its ATK will be 3100.
Mentions in other Rulings
- Buster Rancher: If "Injection Fairy Lily" is equipped with "Buster Rancher", and you use her effect to increase her ATK, "Buster Rancher" is destroyed. If "Injection Fairy Lily" battles a monster equipped with "Buster Rancher", and her effect is used to increase her ATK, then "Buster Rancher"'s effect activates and increases the ATK of the other monster.
- Diffusion Wave-Motion: You can activate "Injection Fairy Lily"'s effect when she is attacked by a Level 7 Spellcaster-Type monster selected with "Diffusion Wave-Motion" because her effect is applied during damage calculation.
- Fairy Box: The current ATK is reduced to 0, including all Equip Spell Cards. Trap Cards and Quick-Play Spell Cards cannot further increase the monster's ATK this battle. A monster effect such as "Injection Fairy Lily" can increase its own ATK after "Fairy Box" is successful.
- Kuriboh: "Kuriboh" is activated during damage calculation. If your opponent attacks with "Injection Fairy Lily" and activates her effect, you can chain "Kuriboh" to reduce the damage to zero.
- Last Turn: ...You can use the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily" and other monster effects during the special Battle Phase.
- Metalmorph: If your monster that is equipped with “Metalmorph” attacks your opponent’s “Injection Fairy Lily”, if your opponent activates “Injection Fairy Lily’s” effect it will be resolved first, and then after “Injection Fairy Lily’s” ATK is increased by 3000 your monster will gain additional ATK equal to half of “Injection Fairy Lily’s” total ATK.
- Reflect Bounder: Effects such as..."Injection Fairy Lily" happen after "Reflect Bounder"'s effect, because "Reflect Bounder"'s effect happens before damage calculation.
- Secret Pass to the Treasures: ...If you use "Secret Pass to the Treasures" on "Injection Fairy Lily", and attack directly, you cannot activate the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily".
- Shooting Star Bow - Ceal: "Shooting Star Bow - Ceal" decreases the current ATK. So if "Injection Fairy Lily" is equipped with "Shooting Star Bow - Ceal" and activates her effect, her ATK is 2400 ((400 - 1000) + 3000 = 2400).
- Skyscraper: If your opponent's monster's ATK is increased during the Damage Steps, like "Injection Fairy Lily"...your "Elemental Hero" will gain the +1000 ATK for "Skyscraper".
- Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce: You can equip "Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce" to "Injection Fairy Lily" and you can use her effect for each attack.
