The Regional Duel Monsters Championship are mentioned as being a lower stage than the National Duel Monsters Championship, and are usually the considered qualifiers to the National Tournaments.

A Regional Championship was won by Weevil Underwood in the English Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. (In manga and Japanese anime, Weevil won the Japanese National Duel Monsters Championship).
