Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL

The ATK-doubling effect of this card occurs after activation, as opposed to during Damage Step.

Anime

Pre-World Duel Carnival

  • In episode 1, Yuma Tsukumo is shown looking at this card while he was rebuilding his Deck for his upcoming Duel against Shark. Yuma openly questions to himself how he would be able to use this card for his upcoming Duel.
    • This card can also be seen after Yuma collides with a Litterbot.
  • In episode 2, Yuma uses this card during his Duel against Shark. After "Number 39: Utopia" attacks "Number 17: Leviathan Dragon" (whose ATK was 3000 due to its effect being used twice) and Yuma activates the effect of "Utopia" to negate the attack, Yuma activates this card to double the ATK of "Utopia" and let it attack again.
    • This card also appears in Astral's thoughts when he explains in detail to Yuma about the "Numbers" and how they work.
    • This card also appears in a flashback Yuma has when he explains to Astral he has a combo in mind that can beat Shark.
  • In episode 7, this card is shown after Yuma's Deck case falls out of his school bag and his cards fall out.
  • In episode 10, this card is seen when Caswell Francis checks Yuma's Deck for his "Number" monsters (which were not present at the time due to Astral not being around at the time).

World Duel Carnival Preliminaries

  • In episode 38, Yuma uses this card during his Duel against Nistro and Dextra. After "Number 39: Utopia" (whose ATK was 1900 due to the effect of Dextra's "Photon Papilloperative") attacks "Photon Papilloperative" (whose ATK was 1100 due to the second effect of "Berserk Scales") and Yuma activates the effect of "Utopia" to negate the attack, Yuma activates this card to double the ATK of "Utopia" and let it attack again. Yuma then activates "Double Tension" to double the ATK of "Utopia" once more since it was making a second attack.
  • In episode 44, this card is shown when Yuma is rebuilding his Deck.

World Duel Carnival Finals

  • In episode 59, Yuma uses this card during his Duel against Nistro. After "Number 39: Utopia" attacks "Heroic Champion - Excalibur" and Nistro activates the latter's effect to double its ATK, Yuma activates the effect of "Utopia" to negate the attack. Yuma then activates this card to double the ATK of "Utopia" and let it attack again.
    • This card also appears in a flashback Nistro has when he reveals he and Dextra used to do everything Mr. Heartland told them to do, but after seeing Yuma's Dueling style, his burning Dueling spirit was reignited.
  • In episode 69, Yuma uses this card during his Tag-Team Duel with Shark and Kite Tenjo against Dr. Faker. After "Number 39: Utopia" attacks "Number 53: Heart-eartH" and Faker activates the third effect of "Heart-eartH" to increase its ATK by the current ATK of "Utopia", Yuma activates the effect of "Utopia" to negate the attack. Yuma then activates this card to double the ATK of "Utopia" and let it attack again. At the end of the Damage Step, this card's effect expires.
  • In episode 72, this card appears in a series of flashbacks Kite has when he realizes no matter what kind of hopeless situation Yuma gets into in Duels, he will always fight back and never give up.

Mythyrian Numbers War

  • In episode 112, this card can be seen on Yuma's desk as he mourns the loss of Astral.
  • In episode 113, Yuma uses this card during his Tag-Team Duel with Trey against Erazor. He sets this card via the effect of "Reservation Reward". Yuma intended to use this card after "Number 39: Utopia" attacks "Number 3: Cicada King" and he used the effect of "Utopia" to negate the attack. This would allow Yuma to use this card to double the ATK of "Utopia" and let it attack again with "Reservation Reward" doubling the ATK of "Utopia" again and letting "Utopia" inflict piercing damage. However when Yuma activates the effect of "Utopia" in response to its attack, Erazor activates the effect of "Cicada King" to negate the effect of "Utopia" and increase its DEF by 500, causing the attack to fail. Later, "Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis" (whose ATK was 5900 due to "Chronomaly Pyramid Eye Tablet" and "Chornomaly Atlandis" being equipped with "Utopia") attacks "Cicada King" and Yuma activates "Overlay Stopper" to negate the attack. Yuma then activates this card to double the ATK of "Chronomaly Atlandis" and let it attack again. Subsequently, "Reservation Reward" doubles the ATK of "Chronomaly Atlandis".
    • This card also appears in a flashback Yuma has when he remembers he used this card with "Utopia" during the duel where he first met Astral.
    • This card also appears in a flashback Trey has when he realizes what Yuma's strategy with "Reservation Reward" and this card is.
  • In episode 116, this card is shown when Yuma is rearranging his Deck.
  • In episode 120, Yuma sets this card during his Duel against Eliphas. In the next episode, "Number 39: Utopia Roots" attacks "New Order 13: Etheric Amon" (whose ATK was 8200 through its own effect) and Yuma activates the effect of "Utopia Roots" to negate the attack. The effect of "Utopia Roots" then attaches the Overlay Unit that "Utopia Roots" detached to "Etheric Amon" (increasing its ATK by 100) and makes the ATK of "Utopia Roots" equal to the difference in Ranks between "Utopia Roots" and "Etheric Amon" times 100 multiplied by the number of Overlay Units on "Etheric Amon". Yuma then activates this card to double the ATK of "Utopia Roots" and let it attack again.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Shark when he realizes if the ironic fate that the friends he made as a human are now his enemies exist after he discovers he and Rio Kastle are truly Barians and that he is one of the enemies Yuma, Astral, and Kite are fighting against.
  • In episode 123, Yuma uses this card during his Duel against Mr. Heartland (the former taking over for Kite). When "Number 39: Utopia" attacks "Number 1: Infection Buzz King" and Mr. Heartland activates "Overlay Hunt" to negate the effects of "Utopia" and attach its Overlay Units to "Infection Buzz King" instead, Yuma activates "Stop Hammer" to negate the attack and reduce the ATK of "Utopia" by 500. Yuma then activates this card to double the ATK of "Utopia" and let it attack again. At the end of the Damage Step, this card's effect expires.
    • This card also appears in a series of flashbacks Yuma has when he states that he wants the chance to duel alongside Astral again as that's what happiness is for him.

Barian Emperor Onslaught

  • In episode 143, Yuma uses this card during his Duel against Nash. He draws this card via Shining Draw by the effect of Nash's "Draw of Fate", which had also negate the attack "Number 39: Utopia" (whose ATK was 4000 by the effects of "Friller Shark", "Damage Take-Over", and "ZW - Sylphid Wing") made on "Chao Xyz Barian Hope" (whose ATK was 3000 through its own effect). Yuma then activates this card to double the ATK of "Utopia" and let it attack again. "Utopia" then attacks "Barian Hope", but Yuma, at this point, realizes that the Door's prophecy meant he will lose himself if he wins the Duel since he will use the Numeron Code to erase the life Shark has lived up until now. As such, Yuma activates the last effect of "Sylphid Wing" to attach it to "Utopia" as an Overlay Unit and activates the effect of "Utopia" to negate the attack. After Nash activates "Glory of the Seven Emperors" (which attaches the remaining four "Chaos Over Hundred Numbers" to "Barian Hope"), Astral remarks that, had Yuma not negated the attack, "Glory of the Seven Emperors" would have caused Yuma to receive all battle damage from the attack and lose the Duel.
  • In episode 144, this card appears in a series of flashbacks Yuma has when he asks Astral what reason they have been fighting up until now if Astral is going to throw away the possibility of carving a new future by destroying Barian World.
