  • In Yu-Gi-Oh!, this card is the signature card of Seto Kaiba. Much of his deck centers around ways of quickly summoning it; indeed, even his private jet is modeled around the dragon.

Duelist Kingdom/Pre-Duelist Kingdom Arc

  • When this card first appeared, it was famous for the fact that only four of them were ever printed. Yugi Muto's grandfather, Solomon Muto had one of them and when Kaiba saw it, he attempted to buy it, but was refused. Kaiba later stole the card from Yugi, and used it in a shadow game with Yami Yugi. Towards the end of the duel, he slips this card onto the top of his deck, and attempts to use it to destroy Yugi's "Summoned Skull", but the dragon refuses, as it belongs to Yugi's grandpa. The dragon destroyed itself upon the command, and Yugi resurrected it with "Monster Reborn" to attack Kaiba directly, winning the duel.
  • By Kaiba's next appearance (in the DEATH-T arc), he has the remaining three copies of this card all in his deck (acquired by illegal means). Confident of his deck, he challenged Solomon to a duel, and although Solomon drew his "Blue-Eyes" first, Kaiba destroyed it with his own three "Blue-Eyes", winning the duel. Afterwards, he tears the card in half so that it cannot ever be used against him, as a duelist can only have three copies of any card in his deck.
  • When Kaiba duels Yugi at the final battlefield of DEATH-T, he summons one of these to destroy Yugi's "Gaia the Fierce Knight". He later summons the other two to destroy "Horn Imp" and "Dark Magician". All three were destroyed when Yugi summoned "Exodia".
  • In Episode 1 of the second series anime, Kaiba learned that Solomon Muto had the fourth Blue-Eyes card he was searching for after hearing a conversation that Yugi and Joey were having. He tried to buy the card, but Solomon refused. Kaiba then challenged Solomon to a duel and defeated him. Later Yugi and his friends learned about this and found Solomon badly injured from the duel. To the horror of Yugi, Solomon, and Yugi's friends, Kaiba tore up the fourth Blue-Eyes card in front of their eyes, as he believes this way no Blue-Eyes could ever be used against him. Kaiba would then use this card in his duel against Yugi. He would summon this card after Yugi destroyed "Saggi the Dark Clown" with "Gaia the Fierce Knight". He would then use "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to destroy Yugi's "Gaia the Fierce Knight","Horn Imp", and "Beaver Warrior" before summoning a second "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". Yugi's "Swords of Revealing Light" were able to stop the two dragons for a while. Kaiba would summon his last copy to destroy Yugi's "Dark Magician" before the effect of Swords of Revealing Light expires. Yugi would then destroy all three Blue-Eyes with Exodia after gathering all five pieces in his hand. In the Uncut edition of the anime released by 4Kids, the attack is called Burst Stream of Destruction.
  • During the Duelist Kingdom arc, Ghost Kaiba stole this card, along with the rest of Kaiba's deck, to use against Yugi. After summoning the first one, Yugi tried to put his monsters in Defense Position, but Ghost Kaiba used "Defense Paralysis" to keep all of Yugi's monsters in Attack Position. The first Blue-Eyes was then sent to destroy Yugi's "Curse of Dragon", but Yugi then hid his "Dark Magician" from it using "Magical Hats". The "Blue-Eyes" hit an empty hat next, before hitting a hat with "Spellbinding Circle" beneath it, reducing its ATK by 700. Yugi then brought his "Dark Magician" out to destroy it. The impostor Kaiba then launched a second Blue-Eyes to destroy the Dark Magician. The real Kaiba then hacked into the duel's hologram computers and started to decrease its ATK shortly when it was Ghost Kaiba's turn again, but only managed to reduce its ATK to 2000 due to Pegasus. It was still strong enough to destroy Yugi's "Feral Imp", but before the attack hits, Kaiba called out to Yugi as he did not want Yugi to lose to an imposter of himself. The "Blue-Eyes" heard the call of its true master and shattered itself, leaving the impostor with an empty field. The third "Blue-Eyes" was eventually summoned after a few turns, and attacked, but Yugi activated "Mirror Force," sending the attack back towards the impostor, who negated it with "Negate Attack". Yugi then used "Monster Reborn" to summon one of the "Blue-Eyes" in the Graveyard and strengthened it with "Mystical Elf"'s effect, and it then destroyed the impostor's third "Blue-Eyes", winning Yugi the duel.
  • During his duel with Yugi atop Pegasus' castle, Kaiba summoned one of these to destroy Yugi's "Griffore". It was later fused with the two others to create "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon".
  • When he dueled Maximillion Pegasus for his brother's soul, Kaiba drew this card on his first turn, but did not play it. On his second turn he tried to summon this card, but hewas forced to hand it over to Pegasus due to the effect of Pegasus' "Prophecy" card. Pegasus used "Toon World" to transform it into the "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon". Kaiba later drew a second one, and used it to attack the "Toon Dragon", but failed due to "Toon" monsters not being able to be destroyed by normal monsters. After Pegasus powered up his "Toon Dragon" with "Shine Palace", he tried to use it to destroy Kaiba's "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", but Kaiba used "Negate Attack" to save his monster. Kaiba then used "Shadow Spell" to hold the Toon Dragon down, and attacked it with his own " Blue-Eyes" again, successfully destroying the "Toon Dragon" this time. Pegasus then proceeded to seal it with "Dragon Capture Jar", and attempted to control it with "Dragon Piper", but Kaiba destroyed "Dragon Piper" with "Swordstalker" before this could happen.
  • After Solomon regained his soul and got out of the hospital, Rebecca Hawkins came and asked for her grandfather's copy of this card back. The gang had a problem with this as Kaiba destroyed it. When Rebecca challenged Solomon to a duel, Yugi declared he would duel her instead. After Yugi surrendered the duel, Rebecca demanded the card back. Solomon reluctantly showed it to her and to her shock it is torn in half and is held back up with tape. Rebecca then believes that Solomon tore it in half, but Solomon tries to tell her he would never do such a thing, but Rebecca stubbornly refused to believe him until her grandfather appeared and told her to behave herself. Arthur made it clear that Solomon was telling the truth and Rebecca realizing this forgives him.
  • When Kaiba entered his own virtual reality game during the Legendary Hero storyline, he summoned this card to destroy a virtual "Two-Headed King Rex", but it was absorbed by a "Dragon Capture Jar" designed by the Big 5 before he got captured himself. After he was freed by Mokuba, he summoned this card to destroy "Witty Phantom (character)". A bunch of Armed Ninjas tried to capture it with the same Dragon Capture Jar, but Kaiba is prepared this time. He sends out Trap Master to destroy the jar and free his Blue-Eyes trapped in the jar. The two dragons then destroyed all of the "Armed Ninjas". Later he would summon this card against the Big Fives' "Five-Headed Dragon", and eventually fused it into the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon".

Battle City/Virtual World Arcs

  • This card was used again in Kaiba and Yugi's first tag-team duel against Lumis and Umbra. Kaiba was able to summon all three copies of this card with two copies of "The Flute of Summoning Dragon" along with a "Hyozanryu" (Since "Lord of D." was face-up on the field). Kaiba later tributed all three of his "Blue-Eyes" to summon "Obelisk the Tormentor".
  • When Téa Gardner was held hostage by the Rare Hunters to force Yugi into dueling the brainwashed Joey Wheeler, Kaiba flung this card into the hand of the Rare Hunter holding Téa, knocking the remote control for the bombs out of his hand and saving her.
  • Toward the end of the Battle City semi-finals, Kaiba was overcome by a vision of his past during his duel with Ishizu Ishtar, which drove him to tribute "Obelisk the Tormentor" and "Gadget Soldier" to summon this card. This action negated Ishizu's "Blast Held by a Tribute". Kaiba then attacked Ishizu directly with the Blue-Eyes, winning him the duel.
  • In the beginning of the Virtual World storyline, the Big Five used a virtual Kaiba dueling to explain the Deck Master system. Virtual Kaiba chose this card as his Deck Master, and used a combination of ""Lord of D." and "The Flute of Summoning Dragon" to bring the other two to the field. He then moved this card into the field, and fused it into the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" via "Polymerization". Though it is only shown once, "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"'s Deck Master Ability is apparently to allow any Fusion Monsters that includes it as one of the ingredients to attack instantly (as normally, Fusion Monsters cannot attack on the turn of their summoning).
  • Kaiba summoned this card towards the end of his duel with Leichter, using "Lord of D."'s Deck Master ability to pay 500 LP and sacrificing "Possessed Dark Soul" and a set Defense Position monster to summon this card. Being a level eight monster, it was able to attack and destroy Leichter's "Satellite Cannon", winning Kaiba the duel as "Satellite Cannon" has 0 ATK during the opponent's turn.
  • During his duel with Noah Kaiba, Kaiba used "Kaiser Sea Horse"'s Deck Master Ability to tribute "Different Dimension Dragon" in order to summon this card. The summoning of this card then snapped Mokuba out of the trance he was under and he then returned to Seto's side. Kaiba then had this card attack and destroy "Gradius" which in turn destroyed "Gradius' Option" as well. On the last turn of the duel, Kaiba activated "Last Turn" so that the Blue Eyes and Noah's "Shinato's Ark" would decide the victor of the match. The "Blue-Eyes" then destroyed the ark, but this in turn released "Shinato, King of a Higher Plane", which then destroyed this card and won Noah the duel as per the effect of "Last Turn".
  • When Yami Yugi took over for Kaiba in his duel against Noah, he summoned Kaiba's destroyed "Blue-Eyes" with "Monster Reborn", then used "Polymerization" to fuse it with the two in his hand (as he had merged his deck with Kaiba's) into the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon". After the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" had attacked and destroyed"Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi" with the help of "Quick Attack", Yugi used "De-Fusion" to turn it back into three separate "Blue-Eyes". Yugi then had the three "Blue-Eyes" attack Noah directly, winning him the duel.
  • After returning to Battle City, Kaiba summoned this card in his duel against Yami Yugi in the finals by lowering the "Blue Eyes"' level with "Cost Down" and sacrificing a token created from using "Cloning" on Yugi's "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts". The "Blue-Eyes" then proceeded to destroy Yugi's "Gazelle". Later, Kaiba brought out "Lord of D." to protect this card from Yugi's card effects. Later he played "The Flute of Summoning Dragon" to bring his other two "Blue-Eyes" to the field. This first "Blue-Eyes" attacked Yugi's "Dark Magician", but the attack was negated by "Magician's Selection" whose other effect then destroyed "Lord of D.". The second one destroyed Yugi's "Beta The Magnet Warrior". The third one attacked "Red-Eyes B. Dragon", but Yugi activated "Spellbinding Circle", weakening it and allowing "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" to counterattack and destroy it instead. Kaiba later resurrected the "Blue-Eyes" in his Graveyard with "Monster Reborn" and then fused his three "Blue-Eyes" together into the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" with "Polymerization". Yugi eventually turned it back into three "Blue-Eyes" with "De-Fusion". This increased "Dark Paladin"'s ATK to 4900 due to its own effect. The three "Blue-Eyes" were then all destroyed by "Dark Paladin" (empowered by "Diffusion Wave-Motion"), winning Yugi the duel.
  • When he dueled Joey Wheeler for third place in Battle City, Kaiba summoned this card by using "Cost Down" to lower "Blue-Eyes"' level so that it would require only one sacrifice, and then used "Enemy Controller" to steal Joey's "Tiny Guardian". He then used "Tiny Guardian" as the sacrifice for this card. The "Blue-Eyes" attempted to attack Joey directly, but Joey activated "Scapegoat", resulting in it attacking a "Goat Token" instead. "Blade Knight" then destroyed another "Sheep Token". On Kaiba's next turn, the "Blue-Eyes" then destroyed "Battle Warrior" while his "Kaiser Sea Horse" and "Blade Knight" destroyed the last "Sheep Tokens". Joey then used "Graverobber" to steal Kaiba's "Enemy Controller" so that he could use it to destroy the "Blue-Eyes". Joey then used "Monster Reborn" to resurrect the "Blue-Eyes", and then used it to destroy Kaiba's "Blade Knight". Kaiba then sacrificed "Kaiser Sea Horse" to summon his second "Blue-Eyes" ("Kaiser Sea Horse" counts as two tributes for the tribute summon of a LIGHT monster), which then attacked Joey's "Blue-Eyes", resulting in both being destroyed. Kaiba then resurrected one with his own "Monster Reborn". On Kaiba's next turn, he used "Stop Defense" to switch "Hayabusa Knight" into Attack Position. He then used this card to destroy Joey's "Hayabusa Knight", but Joey activated "Nutrient Z" before the damage was subtracted from his Life Points. Joey later attempted to target it with "Time Wizard", but Kaiba saved it with "Interdimensional Matter Transporter". After "Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon" destroyed "Thousand Dragon" (thanks to "Quick Attack"), the "Blue-Eyes" on the field finished the duel by attacking Joey directly, defeating him.

Doma/KC Grand Prix Arcs

  • When he dueled Alister (at first disguised as Maximillion Pegasus), Kaiba summoned this card by sacrificing "Spear Dragon" and a token created from the effect of "Cloning". Alister then used the summoning of this card to activate "Toon Mask", tributing his "Toon Masked Sorcerer" to summon "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon". Kaiba then activated "Shrink" to halve the "Toon Dragon"'s ATK until the End Phase. He then activates "Charm of Lamentation". The "Blue-Eyes" then attacked Alister-Pegasus' "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon", but "Toon Dragon" dodges it. Kaiba then used the effect of "Charm of Lamentation" to draw a card. Next turn this card attacked "Toon Dark Magician Girl", but once again the attack misses. However this allowed Kaiba to draw a card due to "Charm of Lamentation". Kaiba then used "A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon" to return this card to his hand and destroy "Toon World". Alister then revealed himself to Kaiba and Mokuba. Later Kaiba used "White Dragon Ritual" to sacrifice the "Blue-Eyes" from his hand to summon "Paladin of White Dragon". Next he used "Monster Reborn" to summon it back to the field. ""Paladin" then destroyed "Pitch-Dark Dragon" which in turn weakened "Gorlag" due to there being one less FIRE monster out. "Blue-Eyes" then destroyed "Gorlag" which in turn destroyed "Versago the Destroyer" too due to another of "Gorlag"'s effects. Afterwards, Kaiba sacrificed "Paladin of White Dragon" to bring another "Blue-Eyes" to the field. Alister then used "Aetonix Flame" to destroy both dragons and summon back his "Gorlag" who again powered up by "The Seal of Orichalcos" and its own effect. Alister then used "Fire Whip" to resurrect the "Blue-Eyes" in Kaiba's Graveyard onto his side of the field as FIRE attribute monsters. This in turn increased "Gorlag"'s ATK to 3000. However Alister then had to end his turn as "Aetonix Flame" forbids him from attacking. Both dragons and "Gorlag" were then destroyed by "Doom Virus Dragon"'s effect.
  • During his rematch with Alister, Kaiba summoned this card by using "Soul Exchange" to sacrifice Alister's two Robot Tokens. It destroyed one Robot token next turn. Later Alister tries to destroy this card with "Air Fortress Ziggurat", but Kaiba activates "Tyrant Wing" to increase this card's ATK to 3400, resulting in this card counterattacking and destroying "Air Fortress Ziggurat". A bit later, Kaiba merges his "Tyrant Wing" with "The Fang of Critias" to Fusion Summon "Tyrant Burst Dragon" which causes this card to lose the power up from "Tyrant Wing". Kaiba then removed his "Tyrant Burst Dragon" from play to activates its effect, giving this card 400 more ATK and allowing it to attack every monster Alister had out once each. This card then destroyed "Spell Canceller" and the two remaining "Robot Tokens", winning Kaiba the duel.
  • In his and Yugi's duel with Dartz, Kaiba summoned this card by sacrificing "Paladin of White Dragon". He later used "Polymerization" to fuse this card with the two "Blue-Eyes" in his hand to create the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon".
  • During the KC Grand Prix, when he dueled Zigfried von Schroeder, Kaiba had all three of these cards at the top of his deck as revealed through the effect of "Goddess Urd's Verdict" much to Zigfried's shock. Zigfried then used "Goddess Verdandi's Guidance" to make Kaiba place this monster in face-down Defense Position. Finally he used "Goddess Skuld's Oracle" to remove it from play. "Nibelung's Ring" forced Kaiba to discard another one, but he resurrected it with "Monster Reborn". Kaiba then had it attack "Valkyrie Zwei", but Zigfried activated "Fortune Chariot"'s effect, destroying it to prevent his monster's destruction, but still taking the damage he would have received. Next turn, Kaiba had this card attack "Valkyrie Brunnhilde", but Zigfried decreased "Brunnhilde"'s DEF by 1000 to prevent her destruction. Zigfried then used "Enchanted Sword Nothung" to remove the "Blue-Eyes" from play. Kaiba later discarded his third "Blue-Eyes" through the effect of "Graceful Charity". Kaiba then removed from play this card and "Pitch-Dark Dragon" from the Graveyard to summon "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End". Towards the end of the duel, Kaiba uses "Dimension Fusion" to bring all three back. After "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End" attacked "Brunnhilde" and failed to destroy it, Kaiba had one of the three "Blue-Eyes" attack "Valkyrie Brunnhilde", but Zigfried lowered its DEF by 1000 to prevent his monster's destruction, but still taking Battle Damage. The second then destroyed "Valkyrie Brunnhilde" since its DEF was now 0. The third then attacked Zigfried directly, winning Kaiba the duel.

Millennium World/Ceremonial Battle Arcs

  • When Yami Bakura challenged Kaiba to a duel atop the KC office building, Kaiba summoned this card with a combination of "Lord of D." and "The Flute of Summoning Dragon". He attempted to use it to attack Bakura's "Diabound Kernel", but the attack was negated by Bakura's "Spirit Shield". Bakura then equip "Grief Tablet" to "Lord of D.", rendering its effects useless. Bakura then used a doppelganger of Diabound Kernel created from "Spirit Illusion" to weaken the "Blue-Eyes" and attempted to attack it with the original, but Kaiba activated "Attack Guidance Armor" to redirect the attack to "Lord of D.", destroying it instead. Kaiba later sacrificed the weakened "Blue-Eyes" alongside "Vorse Raider" to summon a second "Blue-Eyes". Kaiba then used that "Blue-Eyes" to destroy "Diabound Kernel". However, Bakura used "Rebirth Tablet" to resurrect "Diabound Kernel" and then used "Mirror Tablet" to strengthen it by half of the ATK of this card. The last effect of "Mirror Tablet" then forced the second "Blue-Eyes" to attack "Diabound Kernel", resulting in the "Blue-Eyes"' destruction. Kaiba then resurrected the "Blue-Eyes" with "Monster Reborn", but Bakura (his mission to absorb the Blue Eyes' attack power was now accomplished) left without finishing the duel.
  • During this arc, this card is revealed to be the spirit of Kisara, as well as the patron monster of the Priest Seto (who Kaiba is a reincarnation of), and is identified as the only monster whose power is greater than that of the "Egyptian Gods". This is proven when Kaiba summons the three Blue-Eyes (representing the souls of himself, the priest Seto, and Kisara) and fuses them together into the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon".

  • In episode 21, this card appeared in a flashback duel that Gerard had against an unknown opponent. This card attacked Gerard and this somehow defeated him. Gerard blamed his loss on "Skyscraper" and stopped loving dueling as such, but after seeing Jaden use the card in the next episode, during his Duel against Bastion, he regained his love for dueling and decided to move on from the loss.
  • In episode 50, this card is seen in a flashback of episode 34.

  • This card appears briefly in the opening duel of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light, where Kaiba uses "Polymerization" to fuse the "Blue-Eyes" on his field with the ones in his hand to Fusion Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon". During his second duel with Yugi, Kaiba summons this card through the effect of "Paladin of White Dragon". Yugi then tries to destroy this card with "Magician's Valkyria" who was powered up by the effect of "Mage Power", however Kaiba used "Attack Guidance Armor" to redirect the attack to "Peten the Dark Clown", destroying it instead. Kaiba then uses "Polymerization" to fuse the "Blue-Eyes" on his field with the ones in his hand together again, turning them into the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon".
  • In the Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters, there is Duel Armor that fuses with "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to give the armor's user the ability to destroy Dragons as long as the user has the "Sword of Divinity" with them.
