"Gearfried" is a series of Warrior monsters that represent the various forms and evolutions of the card "Gearfried the Iron Knight".

Each member of the series (except "Gilti-Gearfried the Magical Steel Knight" and "Lightray Gearfried") has an effect that revolves around Equip Cards, varying from being unable to use equips to instant monster destruction upon being equipped to using an equip to negate Spell and Trap Cards that target monsters.

In the anime, Joey Wheeler recited the story of Gearfried; he wore a special armor, which comes in the form of "Gearfried the Iron Knight", to lock away his tremendous power. His true strength is then revealed in the form of "Gearfried the Swordmaster" through the use of "Release Restraint".

"Gearfried the Iron Knight" appears as a character in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Arena, and "Phoenix Gearfried" appears in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2010: Reverse of Arcadia .
