The Duel Off - Part 2, known as Summon Wildman! Judai VS Misawa (Part 2) in the Japanese version, is the twenty-second episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. It aired in Japan on March 2, 2005, and in the US on November 23, 2005.

Episode Summary
Gerard downloaded the information he needed from the library computer. All of the profiles on the missing students showed that they had transferred to a different school, but there was no return address. This means that Duel Academy has actually been trying to cover up the situation. He copied the information to a disk and planned to release it to a tabloid to ruin the reputation of the Academy. Meanwhile, Jaden and Bastion continued their duel, even though Bastion stopped Jaden from using Polymerization.
After he finished his research, Gerard left the library. As he passed the stadium, he decided to check out the duel. Jaden explained that he’s different from Bastion because he likes to make his strategies at home, while Jaden plays with his gut and makes his moves on the field.
Although Jaden's strongest monsters (his Fusion Monsters) were all but disabled, he still managed to hold his own by summoning the next strongest monster in his Deck: the Elemental Hero Bladedge. He also combined Bladedge with his Field Spell Card, "Skyscraper", which brought back Gerard's awful Dueling memories.
Jaden used Bladedge to destroy Bastion's Water Dragon and begin his comeback. However, the comeback was short-lived; Bastion was quick to weaken Bladedge, then destroy it, along with "Skyscraper". But Jaden wasn't done yet. He had one trick left up his sleeve. He summoned Elemental Hero Wildheart and combined it with Cyclone Boomerang to inflict the winning damage to Bastion.
After being declared the winner, Jaden and Bastion promised to have another duel soon. Alexis watched as Gerard was leaving and stopped him in the hallway. Gerard talked about how he hates his profession and that he wants to go back to dueling, after watching Jaden duel. He also decided not to reveal the info about the Academy and promised that they will find her brother.
And now, much to Dr. Crowler's dismay, Jaden will be representing Duel Academy at the upcoming school duel against North Academy.

- Switches Sparkman to defense mode
Bastion's Turn
- Summons Mathematician (1500/1500). When Mathematician is summoned in any way, Bastion discards the top card from his Deck
- Water Dragon destroys Sparkman
- Mathematician destroys Avian

- Summons Elemental Hero Bubbleman (800/1200). Jaden draws 2 cards due to its effect
- Activates Bubble Blaster, increasing Bubbleman's ATK by 800
- Bubbleman destroys Mathematician (Bastion 1500)
- When Mathematician is destroyed by battle, Bastion can draw 1 card from his deck.

- Jaden activates Hero Signal, which can only be activated when a monster was destroyed in battle. Jaden Special Summons Elemental Hero Clayman (800/2000) in defense position

- Activates The Warrior Returning Alive, returning Bubbleman to his hand
- Summons Bubbleman (800/1200)
- Activates Bubble Shuffle, switching Bubbleman and Water Dragon into defense position. Jaden now can tribute Bubbleman to summon Elemental Hero Bladedge (2600/1800)
- Activates Skyscraper, increasing all Elemental Hero's ATK by 1000 when attacking stronger monsters.
- Bladedge increases its ATK to 3600 and destroys Water Dragon
- When Bladedge destroys a monster in defense position, the difference is dealt to the opponent (Bastion 500)
- Since Water Dragon was destroyed, Bastion can now revive 2 Hydrogeddons and 1 Oxygeddon
- Bastion activates Last Magnet, which can only be activated when one of his monsters is destroyed by battle. It equips to Bladedge, decreasing its ATK
- Clayman increases its ATK to 1800, destroying Oxygeddon
Bastion's Turn
- Activates Litmus Doom Ritual, tributing his Hydrogeddons to summon Litmus Doom Swordsman (0/0). Litmus Doom Swordsman is unaffected by Trap cards and when a Trap card is face up, it gains 3000 ATK and DEF
- Since Last Magnet is face up, Litmus Doom Swordsman gains 3000 ATK/DEF
- Litmus Doom Swordsman attacks Bladedge (Jaden 1600)(NOTE: Bastion could ahve won the Duel here by attacking Clayman instead)
- Since Last Magnet was destroyed, Litmus Doom Swordsman's ATK/DEF is decreased to 0
- Hyozanryu attacks Clayman (Jaden 1300)
- Activates A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon, returning Hyozanryu into his hand to destroy Skyscraper
- Sets a card
Jaden's Turn
- Summons Elemental Hero Wildheart (1500/1600)
- Bastion activates Spirit Barrier, reducing all battle damage to 0 as long as a monster remains on his side of the field
- Since a Trap Card is face up, Litmus Doom Swordsman's ATK/DEF becomes 3000
- Jaden activates Cyclone Boomerang, equipping to Wildheart and increasing its ATK by 500
- Wildheart attacks Litmus Doom Swordsman and destroys itself (Jaden 300)
- Since Cyclone Boomerang was destroyed while equipped to Wildheart, all Spell and Trap cards on the field are destroyed and for each one, Bastion loses 500 LP (Bastion 0)
Jaden wins.
