Pharaonic Deck
While Dueling Kaiba, the Controller uses a Pharaonic/Blue-Eyes Deck, which centers on utilizing the abilities and manipulations of his Egyptian-themed "Pharaonic" monsters to put his opponents into a lockdown strategy. He uses the abilities of his "Spirit Tablet Sanctuary" Field Spell to render his opponent's monsters useless by forcing them into Attack Position, reducing their ATK to 0, and negating their effects with a Spirit Tablet Counter while his own monsters are unaffected by the effects. By allowing his field to be empty, the Controller uses the abilities of his "Pharaonic Balancekeeper" to quickly Fusion Summon his "Pharaonic Highruler" by using the required Fusion Material Monsters from his Deck, which in turn, he can use the effects of each "Pharaonic" monster sent through the effects of his "Highruler".
The Controller's Deck is based on the ancient Shadow Games from Ancient Egypt. Each of his "Pharaonic" monsters are also based off of the Sacred Guardians of Egypt and their respective Millennium Items. Through the combinations of his "Pharaonic" monsters and using his "Spiritual Release" Trap Cards, the Controller can force his opponent to call out their monsters and give up 500 LP to remove the Spirit Tablet Sanctuary from their monsters. When that happens, the Controller can call out a monster with the effects of his "Pharaonic Sorcerer" and his "Spiritual Release" Trap Cards. Fittingly, he can Summon a copy of his "Dragon Spirit of White" monsters, as his "Pharaonic Sorcerer" and the "Dragon Spirit" pay homage to Kaiba, his past life, and his all-powerful Dragon that he used to defeat his opponents.

Seto Kaiba | It's Time to Duel!! | No result |
Yami Yugi usually plays the same Strategy Deck as Yugi Muto, due to occupying the same body. He plays very flexible strategies, preparing him for any situation. Two Types that can be seen consistently throughout Yugi's Decks are the Fiend-Type and the Spellcaster-Type, possibly to reflect Yami's mystical and somewhat dark nature. It becomes focused on the Summoning of the Egyptian Gods and the "Dark Magician" monsters in later arcs.

Kaiba runs a Power Deck, focusing on a Beatdown strategy featuring vicious-looking monsters, most of them being Fiend-Type and of the DARK Attribute. The Spells and Traps in his Deck normally serve to disrupt and counter any strategies his opponents would use. In later arcs, the Deck includes cards that give it the traits of a Virus Control Deck, and then a Swarm Deck. As his Decks evolve, he switches his focus from Fiends to Warriors and Dragons, while continuing to Summon his signature card, "Blue-Eyes White Dragon".
