Kaiba and Alister's Face-Off
+
Kaiba's Duel with Alister continues as Alister unleashes his ace monster. Faced with Alister's hatred and refusing to fail as Alister did, Kaiba stakes the fate of Mokuba and himself on one draw.

* The Duel continues, but it changes quickly from a second to another.
+
Summary
* Mokuba has managed to stabilize the plane and has contacted KC to come to help.
+
With phoned-in assistance, Mokuba manages to stabilize the plane and contact KaibaCorp to come to help. But the vision of the KaibaCorp choppers and planes enrages Alister, convincing him that Kaiba really is exactly like his step-father. The "Seal" breaks the plane's windows and damages the autopilot controls again. Alister empties Kaiba's field and hand and then Summons his ace monster, "Air Fortress Ziggurat", a monster based on the Dyna Dude action figure that Alister keeps as a memento of his brother. Despite the odds, Kaiba is able to bring out "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and counterattack with "Tyrant Wing". Kaiba claims that if he'd been in Alister's place, he'd definitely have done the impossible to save his brother. Alister, confident of his victory and the demise of all three of them, ends his turn early. Kaiba draws "The Fang of Critias" and fuses it with "Tyrant Wing" into "Tyrant Burst Dragon". Then he uses it to power up his "Blue-Eyes" into the "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon" form to win the Duel with seconds to spare, and "The Seal of Orichalcos" claims Alister's soul. Moments before falling, he smiles after a look at Mokuba, seeing instead the brother that he protected so long ago.

The 3 Dragons Reunite
Kaiba rushes to the controls after the Duel. His determination to save his brother calls the the Legendary Dragon in his deck and the three Legendary Dragons appear to help safely land the plane. Yami Yugi and Téa encounter Joey and Tristan, all four having witnessed the plane spectacle and rushed to the scene. The plane manages to land in one piece and Kaiba disembarks, surprised to meet Yami Yugi in a such a place. He declares that they might be "useful" for his purposes, after hearing from Roland, who lands with one of the choppers with bad news for Kaiba: Doma has bought the whole of the company and taken it over.

*Summons "Kinetic Soldier" (1350 → 1850 ATK / 1800 DEF) in Attack Position.

*Activates "Soldier Revolt", sending every Card in Seto's Hand & side of the Field to the Graveyard.

*Activates "Sky Union", Tributing "Science Soldier", "Cyber Soldier of Darkworld", and "Kinetic Soldier" to Special Summon "Air Fortress Ziggurat" (2500 → 3000 ATK / 2000 DEF) in Attack Position.

*Due to "Soldier Revolt's" effect, Alister cannot conduct a Battle Phase this turn, so he ends his turn.

*Activates "Air Fortress Ziggurat's" effect to Special Summon a "Robot Token" (0 → 500 ATK / 0 DEF) in Defense Position.

Seto Kaiba's Turn
<u>Turn 7: Alister</u><br />
*Alister draws.
+
Alister activates the Magic Card "Junk Dealer", Special Summoning up to two Warrior and/or Machine-Type monsters from his Graveyard in Attack Position and halving their original ATK, but they cannot attack or be Tributed for a Tribute Summon this turn. He Special Summons the Warrior-Type "Science Soldier" and the Machine-Type "Cyber Soldier of Dark World" ("Science Soldier": 800 → 400 → 900/800) ("Cyber Soldier of Darkworld": 1400 → 700 → 1200/1400). Alister Normal Summons "Kinetic Soldier" (1350 → 1850/1800) in Attack Position. As it is the Main Phase and Alister controls a face-up "Science Soldier", "Cyber Soldier of Darkworld" and "Kinetic Soldier" he activates his face-down Trap Card "Soldier Revolt", sending every card in Kaiba's hand to the Graveyard and destroying every card he controls, but Alister cannot conduct his Battle Phase this turn. "XYZ-Dragon Cannon" and Kaiba's Set card are destroyed. Alister activates the Magic Card "Sky Union", Tributing three monsters he controls to Special Summon "Air Fortress Ziggurat" from his Deck. He Tributes "Science Soldier", "Cyber Soldier of Darkworld", and "Kinetic Soldier" to Special Summon "Air Fortress Ziggurat" (2500 → 3000/800) in Attack Position. The effect of "Air Fortress Ziggurat" prevents it from being affected by Kaiba's Magic and Trap Cards. During the End Phase, the effect of "Air Fortress Ziggurat" activates, Special Summoning a "Robot Token" (0 → 500/0) in Defense Position. While Alister controls a "Robot Token", the effect of "Air Fortress Ziggurat" prevents Kaiba from targeting monsters Alister controls for attacks, except a "Robot Token".
*Uses "Air Fortress Ziggurat" to attack Kaiba directly, but Kaiba activates "Magical Trick Mirror", targeting "Junk Dealer" in Alister's Graveyard for its effect: he Special Summons "Judge Man" back from his Graveyard with half its original ATK points (2200 → 1100 ATK / 1500  DEF) (NOTE: Kaiba discarded "Judge Man" to his Graveyard due to Alister's "Soldier Revolt" the previous turn or from the previous episode, where he activate "XYZ-Dragon Cannon's" effect, discarding 3 cards to destroy Alister's 3 Tank Tokens).

*"Air Fortress Ziggurat" attacks and destroys Kaiba's "Judge Man" (Kaiba: 2000 → 100 Life Points).

*Activates "Air Fortress Ziggurat's" effect to Special Summon a "Robot Token" (0 → 500 ATK / 0 DEF) in Defense Position.

Seto Kaiba's Turn
+
<u>Turn 8: Kaiba</u><br />
*Seto draws.
+
Kaiba draws "Pot of Greed". Kaiba activates the Magic Card "Pot of Greed" to draw two cards. Kaiba Sets a card.
*Activates "Cross Sacrifice" (replace by "Soul Exchange" in the Dub), Tributing Alister's two "Robot Tokens" to Summon "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (3000 ATK / 2500 DEF) in Attack Position.

Alister's Turn
+
<u>Turn 9: Alister</u><br />
*Draws "Emergency Provisions".
+
"Air Fortress Ziggurat" attacks Kaiba directly, but as his opponent's monster declared an attack, Kaiba activates his face-down Trap Card "Magical Trick Mirror", activating a Magic Card from his opponent's Graveyard. He chooses to activate the "Junk Dealer" in Alister's Graveyard, Special Summoning the Warrior-Type "Judge Man" from his Graveyard in Attack Position with half its original ATK (2200 1100/1500). A replay occurs and "Air Fortress Ziggurat" attacks and destroys "Judge Man" (Kaiba: 2000 → 100 LP). During the End Phase, the effect of "Air Fortress Ziggurat" Special Summons a "Robot Token" (0 → 500/0) in Defense Position.
*Sets a Card.

*Activates "Air Fortress Ziggurat's" effect to Special Summon a "Robot Token" (0 500 ATK / 0 DEF) in Defense Position.

Seto Kaiba's Turn
+
<u>Turn 10: Kaiba</u><br />
*Seto draws.
+
Kaiba activates the Magic Card "Soul Exchange", allowing him to Tribute monsters owned by his opponent as if they were his own. Kaiba Tributes Alister's two "Robot Tokens" to Tribute Summon "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (3000/2500) in Attack Position.
*Uses "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to attack and destroy Alister's "Robot Token".

*Sets a Card.

Alister's Turn
+
<u>Turn 11: Alister</u><br />
*Draws "Spell Canceller".
+
Alister draws "Emergency Provisions". Alister Sets a card. During the End Phase, the effect of "Air Fortress Ziggurat" Special Summons a "Robot Token" (0 → 500/0) in Defense Position.
*Activates his Set Quick-Play Spell Card "Toy Robot Box", discarding a card to Special Summon another 3 "Robot Tokens" (0 → 500 ATK / 0 DEF) in Defense Position.

*Tributes a "Robot Token" to Summon "Spell Canceller" (1800 → 2300 ATK / 1600 DEF) in Attack Position. As long as this monster is out, Kaiba is forbidden from activating any Spell Cards.

*Uses "Air Fortress Ziggurat" to Attack "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", but Seto activates "Tyrant Wing", equipping it to "Blue-Eyes" and boosting his monster's Attack by +400 ("Blue-Eyes White Dragon": 3000 → 3400 ATK / 2500 DEF). "Air Fortress Ziggurat" is destroyed (Alister: 1400 → 1000 Life Points).

Seto Kaiba's Turn
+
<u>Turn 12: Kaiba</u><br />
*Draws "The Fang of Critias" and subsequently activates it, fusing it with "Tyrant Wing" to Summon "Tyrant Burst Dragon" (3200 ATK / 3000 DEF).
+
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon" attacks and destroys Alister's "Robot Token". Kaiba Sets a card.
**Since "Tyrant Wing" has been removed from the field, "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" loses the 400 ATK boost it got from "Tyrant Wing" ("Blue-Eyes White Dragon": 3400 → 3000 ATK / 2500 DEF).

*Fuses "Tyrant Burst Dragon" with "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to create "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon". ("Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon": 3400 ATK / 2500 DEF).

*Due to "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon's" effect, it can attack all of Alister's monsters once each. "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon" attacks and destroys Alister's "Spell Canceller" and his 2 "Robot Tokens" (Alister 1000 → 0 Life Points).

Seto wins.

<u>Turn 13: Alister</u><br />
* Cut from the English version is a short scene where Roland orders the helicopters, saying they have to save Kaiba and Mokuba, and then a shot of the Kaiba Corp USA building.
+
Alister draws "Spell Canceller". Alister activates his face-down Quick-Play Magic Card "Toy Robot Box", discarding a card to Special Summon three "Robot Tokens" (0 → 500/0 for all) in Defense Position. Alister Tributes a "Robot Token" to Tribute Summon "Spell Canceller" (1800 → 2300/1600) in Attack Position. The effect of "Spell Canceller" prevents Magic Cards from being activated and negates the effects of all Magic Cards. "Air Fortress Ziggurat" attacks "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", but as his opponent's monster declared an attack, Kaiba activates his face-down Trap Card "Tyrant Wing", equipping it to a monster he controls and increasing its ATK by 400, also it can attack twice during the same Battle Phase while his opponent controls a monster. He chooses to equip it to ("Blue-Eyes White Dragon": 3000 → 3400/2500). "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" destroys "Air Fortress Ziggurat" (Alister: 1400 → 1000 LP).
* Cut from the dub is a sequence of where Mokuba exclaims over Alister's monster, and stares up at it from behind his brother. Then Alister says this Monster is his trump Card, as a shot of his hand holding his brother Mikey's toy is superimposed over the Ziggurat.

* Cut from the dub are shots of Air Fortress Ziggurat's guns zeroing on Kaiba.

* Also cut from the dub is a shot Ziggurat exploding when Kaiba destroys it.

Notes
+
<u>Turn 14: Kaiba</u><br />
*During this episode, Kaiba activates "Junk Dealer" in Alister's Graveyard thanks to the effect of "Magical Trick Mirror", and Special Summons "Judge Man" back from his own Graveyard. In the English anime, probably due to a mistake in translation, Seto declares "Judge Man" comes back in Defense Position to protect [Seto's] Life Points. However this is clearly not the case, as when Alister's "Air Fortress Ziggurat" attacks "Judge Man" Seto is shown to lose 1900 LP in Battle Damage, bringing his total to 100 Life Points.
+
Kaiba draws "The Fang of Critias". Kaiba activates "The Fang of Critias", fusing it with "Tyrant Wing" to Special Summon "Tyrant Burst Dragon" (???/???) in Attack Position ("Blue-Eyes White Dragon": 3400 → 3000/2500). The effect of "Tyrant Burst Dragon" allows it to attack all monsters Kaiba's opponent controls once each. Kaiba activates the effect of "Tyrant Burst Dragon", equipping it to "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to increase its ATK by 400 and allow it to attack all monsters Alister controls once each ("Blue-Eyes White Dragon": 3000 → 3400/2500). In the dub, this is referred to as Kaiba fusing "Tyrant Burst Dragon" with "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to Special Summon "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon". "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon" attacks and destroys Alister's "Spell Canceller" and his two "Robot Tokens" (Alister 1000 → 0 LP).

Kaiba's Duel with Alister continues as Alister unleashes his ace monster. Faced with Alister's hatred and refusing to fail as Alister did, Kaiba stakes the fate of Mokuba and himself on one draw.

Summary[edit]

With phoned-in assistance, Mokuba manages to stabilize the plane and contact KaibaCorp to come to help. But the vision of the KaibaCorp choppers and planes enrages Alister, convincing him that Kaiba really is exactly like his step-father. The "Seal" breaks the plane's windows and damages the autopilot controls again.

Kaiba rushes to the controls after the Duel. His determination to save his brother calls the the Legendary Dragon in his deck and the three Legendary Dragons appear to help safely land the plane. He declares that they might be "useful" for his purposes, after hearing from Roland, who lands with one of the choppers with bad news for Kaiba: Doma has bought the whole of the company and taken it over.

Meanwhile, a computer reports to Dartz that the takeover has been completed.

Featured Duel: Alister vs. Seto Kaiba[edit]

Duel continues from previous episode.

Kaiba has 2000 Life Points remaining and controls "XYZ-Dragon Cannon" (2800/2600) in Attack Position and one Set card.

Alister has 1400 Life Points remaining and controls "The Seal of Orichalcos" and one Set card.

Turn 7: Alister

Turn 8: Kaiba
Kaiba draws "Pot of Greed". Kaiba activates the Magic Card "Pot of Greed" to draw two cards. Kaiba Sets a card.

Turn 9: Alister
"Air Fortress Ziggurat" attacks Kaiba directly, but as his opponent's monster declared an attack, Kaiba activates his face-down Trap Card "Magical Trick Mirror", activating a Magic Card from his opponent's Graveyard. He chooses to activate the "Junk Dealer" in Alister's Graveyard, Special Summoning the Warrior-Type "Judge Man" from his Graveyard in Attack Position with half its original ATK (2200 → 1100/1500).

Turn 10: Kaiba
Kaiba activates the Magic Card "Soul Exchange", allowing him to Tribute monsters owned by his opponent as if they were his own. Kaiba Tributes Alister's two "Robot Tokens" to Tribute Summon "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (3000/2500) in Attack Position.

Turn 11: Alister
Alister draws "Emergency Provisions". Alister Sets a card. During the End Phase, the effect of "Air Fortress Ziggurat" Special Summons a "Robot Token" (0 → 500/0) in Defense Position.

Turn 12: Kaiba
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon" attacks and destroys Alister's "Robot Token". Kaiba Sets a card.

Turn 13: Alister

Turn 14: Kaiba

Featured cards[edit]

The following cards appeared in this episode. Cards in italics debuted here.

Differences in adaptations[edit]

 • Cut from the dub is a short scene where Roland orders the helicopters, saying they have to save Kaiba and Mokuba, and then a shot of the Kaiba Corp USA building.
 • Cut from the dub is a sequence of where Mokuba exclaims over Alister's monster, and stares up at it from behind his brother. Then Alister says this Monster is his trump Card, as a shot of his hand holding his brother Mikey's toy is superimposed over the Ziggurat.
 • Notably, the effect of "Tyrant Burst Dragon" is depicted as dramatically different in the dub. In the Japanese version, it can equip to a monster to increase that monster's ATK by 400 and allow it to attack all monsters the opponent controls. In the dub, Kaiba claims to fuse it with "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", creating "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon". When "Tyrant Burst Dragon" was released in the TCG/OCG, its effect reflected the Japanese version, but "Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon" would later be released with a Summoning conditions and effects reflecting its use in this episode.
 • Also cut from the dub is a shot of "Air Fortress Ziggurat" exploding when Kaiba destroys it.

Errors[edit]

 • During this episode, Kaiba activates "Junk Dealer" in Alister's Graveyard thanks to the effect of "Magical Trick Mirror", and Special Summons "Judge Man" back from his own Graveyard.
 • Due to another translation error, Alister said "Toy Robot Box" required him to discard three cards but he only needed to discard one.
