Gem Dragon[1] is a small series of Dragon monsters whose Japanese names consist of the name of a precious gem, followed by the kana for "Dragon": ドラゴン. All of its members are either LIGHT or WIND monsters, except for the DARK "Labradorite Dragon". The original series are also all Normal Monsters. This series also includes "Hyozanryu", since its Japanese name is literally translated as "Diamond Dragon".
The series is closely related to the "Primoredial" archetype. The effect of "Carboneddon" also references and supports this series, thus linking them with the "Bonding" archetype.
"Fire Opal Head" is also similar thematically to this series, but is a Dinosaur monster.
