"The Commander Exposed" is the fifty-eighth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. It will air in Japan on May 14, 2023.

Having obtained MIK's most vital secret, Manabu pays a visit to UTS but is marked as a traitor and captured. When Zuwijo shows up out of nowhere, UTS welcomes him back with open arms. Manabu doesn't agree with this, so he challenges Zuwijo to a Duel in order to prove himself!

Featured Duel: Manabu Sogetsu vs. Zuwijo zir Velgear

Turn 1: Zuwijo

Zuwijo's hand contains "Requiem Strike Back", "Diffuse Nebula", "Voidvelgr Hoplites", "Meteorlarva", and "Voidvelgr Kyrie". Zuwijo Normal Summons "Hoplites" (1500/0), "Meteorlarva" (600/0), and "Kyrie" (200/500). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Meteorlarva", allowing him to send cards from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard equal to the number of Galaxy monsters he controls. Zuwijo controls 3 Galaxy monsters, so he sends "Fusion", "Dark Hole", and "Voidvelgr Requiem" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard. Zuwijo Sets 2 Cards. Zuwijo activates the effect of "Kyire", allowing him to send a Level 7 or lower Galaxy monster he controls to the Graveyard to add "Voidvelgr Requiem" or "Voidvelgr Chrysaor" from his Graveyard to his hand, then he can choose a face-up card he controls and prevent it from being destroyed by card effects until the end of this turn. Zuwijo sends "Hoplites" to the Graveyard and adds "Requiem" from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo Tributes "Meteorlarva" and "Kyrie" to Tribute Summon "Requiem" (2500/2000).

Turn 2: Manabu

Manabu Maximum Summons "Blazebolt Chemistorm Fenghuang Volcalize Phoenix, "Blazebolt Chemistorm Fenghuang Volcalize Phoenix (L)", and "Blazebolt Chemistorm Fenghuang Volcalize Phoenix (R)", entering Maximum Mode (3500 MAXIMUM ATK). Manabu activates the effect of "Vocalize Phoenix" since it is in Maximum Mode, allowing him to send a FIRE or Pyro monster from his hand to the Graveyard to inflict 1000 damage to Zuwijo, and if he does, this turn, "Vocalize Phoenix" cannot be destroyed by Zuwijo's Trap effects and it inflicts piercing battle damage. Manabu sends "Chemical Distill" from his hand to the Graveyard (Zuwijo: 4000 → 3000 LP). Manabu activates "Volcalize Compound" since he controls a FIRE monster, allowing him to shuffle a Aqua, Pyro, or Thunder monster from his Graveyard into his Deck to draw a card, then if Manabu controls a monster in Maximum Mode or a face-up Equip Spell Card, he can draw an additional card. Manabu shuffles "Chemical Distill" from his Graveyard into his Deck and draws 2 cards. Manabu activates "Chemicalize Structure Force", equipping it to an Aqua, Pyro, or Thunder monster he controls. Manabu equips "Chemicalize Structure Force" to "Vocalize Phoenix". The effect of "Chemicalize Structure Force" causes the equipped monster to gain 300 ATK for each monster with a different Type on the field, and if the equipped monster is a Maximum Mode, it cannot be destroyed by Zuwijo's card effects ("Vocalize Phoenix": 3500 → 4100 MAXIMUM ATK). Manabu Sets 1 Card. "Vocalize Phoenix" attacks and destroys "Requiem" (Zuwijo: 3000 → 1400 LP) ("Vocalize Phoenix": 4100 → 3800 MAXIMUM ATK).

Turn 3: Zuwijo

Zuwijo Normal Summons "Voidvelgr Pale Rider" (1600/0) and "Dark Prophet" (0/0) ("Vocalize Phoenix": 3800 → 4100 MAXIMUM ATK). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Dark Prophet" since it was Normal Summoned this turn, allowing him to shuffle 3 DARK Galaxy monsters from his Graveyard into his Deck to add "Fusion" from his Graveyard into his Deck. Zuwijo shuffles "Hoplites", "Meteorlarva", and "Kyrie" from his Graveyard into his Deck and adds "Fusion" from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo activates "Fusion", allowing him to Fusion Summon a monster from his Extra Deck using face-up monsters he controls as materials. Zuwijo fuses "Pale Rider" and "Dark Prophet" to Fusion Summon "Voidvelgr Apocalypse (2500/2000). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Apocalypse", allowing him to send a card from his hand to the Graveyard to have it gain 1000 ATK and prevent it from being destroyed by card effects this turn, then if "Apocalypse" was Special Summoned this turn, Zuwijo can add "Dark Hole" from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo sends "Voidvelgr Peltest" from his hand to the Graveyard ("Apocalypse": 2500/2000 → 3500/2000) from his Graveyard to his hand and adds "Dark Hole" from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo activates "Dark Hole", destroying all monsters on the field. Due to the effect of "Apocalypse", it is not destroyed, and due to the effect of "Chemicalize Structure Force", "Vocalize Phoenix" is not destroyed. Zuwijo activates "Voidvelgr Shroud", equipping it to a Galaxy monster he controls. Zuwijo equips "Shroud" to "Apocalypse". The effect of "Shroud" causes the equipped monster to gain 100 ATK for each Spell/Trap Zuwijo controls, and while the equipped monster is face-up on the field, Spell/Trap cards Zuwijo controls cannot be destroyed by Manabu's card effects ("Apocalypse": 3500/2000 → 3800/2000). Zuwijo Normal Summons "Voidvelgr Kyriacos" (1000/1000). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Kyriacos", allowing him to change its Battle Position to have a face-up DARK Galaxy monster he controls gain 1000 ATK until the end of this turn. Zuwijo changes "Kyriacos" from Attack Position to face-up Defense Position and chooses "Apocalypse" ("Apocalypse": 3800/2000 → 4800/2000). "Apocalypse" attacks "Vocalize Phoenix", but since a Pyro monster Manabu controls was targeted for an attack, activates his Set "Chemicalize Despise" since a Pyro monster he controls was targeted for an attack, then if the attacking monster has a lower level the attack target, Manabu can destroy that monster.

Turn 4: Manabu

Manabu activates the effect of "Vocalize Phoenix", sending "Hot the Combustion Spirit" from his hand to the Graveyard (Zuwijo: 1400 → 400 LP). Manabu activates "Chemicalizing Impact", allowing him to send 2 cards from his hand to the Graveyard to have a face-up monster he controls gain 1000 ATK until the end of this turn, then if Manabu sent 2 Aqua, Pyro, and/or Thunder monsters to the Graveyard for the requirement of this effect, that monster gains an additional 1000 ATK until the end of this turn. Manabu sends "Melt the Aqueous Spirit" and "Bolt the Conduction Spirit" from his hand to the Graveyard and chooses "Vocalize Phoenix" ("Vocalize Phoenix": 4100 → 5100 → 6100 MAXIMUM ATK). Manabu activates the effect of "Vocalize Phoenix [L]", allowing him to shuffle a FIRE Thunder monster from his Graveyard into his Deck to destroy a face-up Level 9 or lower monster Zuwijo controls, then if "Vocalize Phoenix" is in Maximum Mode, Manabu can destroy an additional monster Zuwijo controls. Manabu shuffles "Bolt" from his Graveyard into his Deck and destroys "Apocalypse" and "Kyriacos" ("Vocalize Phoenix": 6100 → 5800 MAXIMUM ATK). Since a Galaxy monster Zuwijo controls was destroyed by a card effect, he activates his Set "Diffuse Nebula", allowing him to Special Summon a DARK Galaxy monster from his Graveyard in Attack Position, then he can shuffle a monster from Manabu's Graveyard into his Deck. Zuwijo Special Summons "Requiem" (2500/2000) from his Graveyard and shuffles "Melt" from Zuwijo's Graveyard into his Deck. "Vocalize Phoenix" attacks "Requiem", but since a "Voidvelgr Requiem" Zuwijo controls was targeted for an attack while his LP are 2500 or less than Manabu's, Zuwijo activates his Set "Requiem Strike Back", negating that attack, then inflicting damage to Manabu equal to the attacking monster's ATK (Manabu: 4000 → 0 LP).
