"Alien School #8" is the fifty-fifth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. It first aired in Japan on April 23, 2023.
It's an usual morning for Yuamu. She does her work at UTS, and then rushes to school. Her school is currently holding a student council election. Through an unexpected turn of events, Yuamu and Asaka will now have a Duel to decide which one of them will be the student council president.
Summary[edit]
In UTS, the aliens are waiting in line to explain their problems to Yuamu. The aliens inside the building complain to Yuamu about their problems, which nearly overwhelms her. Later on, a stressed out and overworked Yuamu sighs as she faces her head on the desk with her hands on it, saying that she is just handing out consultations that don't give any money. She is soon called by Tazaki, who informs her that she is late for school. As she rushes out of the building, Tazaki bows as he says "Have a good day!".
At Alien Middle School #8, Ganiyo introduces the class to Yudias, who is extremely nervous during his introduction. Yuamu facepalms as Manya comments that Yudias is too nervous. Bochi cheers on for Yudias. Ganiyo encourages the students to get along and become friends with Yudias as a request. Asaka informs the class that she is running for Student Council President. Yudias asks what a Student Council President is. Bochi answers that it is someone who's at the top of the school, to Yudias' surprise. Yuamu says it's like being a president and Yudias thinks it's amazing. Asaka asks everyone if they're feeling satisfied in the school and feeling trapped in the Alien Residential Area, then declares that she is the one who can fix all of that. First, she will change the school and later the world. She tells everyone to remember her name. Yuamu remembers Yuna being exploded into a card by the crystal as she says Asaka's name and everything that happened in thought. As the students chant Asaka's name, Rovian is on the rooftop with her guitar.
Elsewhere, Damamu asks Yuhi why they're skipping school. Yuhi says there's nothing fun about going to school. Damamu bets that they and Yuhi are skipping to find something fun to do. Yuhi tells them that isn't why he is skipping. Damamu floats in front of him, saying that whenever he's with Yuhi, it's fun. Yuhi sees two aliens Rush Dueling each other, causing him to remember all the duels and the road. He wonders what he felt just now.
The next day, Yuamu sees Yudias calling out for everyone to vote for her as Council President, including all the aliens passing out flyers. Yuamu freaks out and panickingly asks Yudias what he is doing. Yudias explains to her that he is telling people to consider and vote for her as president. Yuamu denies this, but Yudias shouts at her with his megaphone about what she is saying and says that the person at the top of Alien Middle School 8 should be the president of UTS. George whispers to Yuamu that there are some students afraid of Asaka. Jouge tells her that there are a lot of people who trust her. Yudias shouts to Yuamu on his megaphone that he and the students are counting on her. Yuamu yells that they don't want them to.
Several days later, Yuhi is at the tsukumen restaurant with Damamu and Ofuruno. He stares at his tsukumen, still thinking about the road in his memories. Menjaburo asks what's wrong. Yuhi replies about the road, but quickly hides it. Ofuruno realizes that today is the Student Council Elections. A serpent-like alien says that Asaka is facing off against Yuamu. Yuhi didn't know Yuamu was voting for student council. Ofuruno tells him that George is supporting his sister.
Now, it is time for Ganiyo to announce the results. Yuamu wonders why this happened in her thoughts. The lights go out on stage and Ganiyo announces who the next Student Council President will be while the drum rolls. The students vote for Yuamu and/or Asaka. Bochi asks Manya why didn't she run her office. Manya tells him that she'd work without paying. Yuhi and friends peek through the door to see the events. Then, it is revealed that both Asaka and Yuamu have the same number of votes, much to everyone's shock. Yuamu turns down the position and allows Asaka to be the president. Asaka refuses to accept the position out of Yuamu's pity on her pride as a Mutsuba, so she challenges Yuamu to a Rush Duel to see who will win as Student Council President. Yuamu is shocked while Yuhi's friends are excited.
Nearby the school, Asaka and Yuamu shout out their names and insert their Decks into their Duel Disks and call "Go Rush!!". Asaka declares her turn and draws, her hand containing "Demolition Survey", "Demolition Barricade", "Demolition Soldier Sakan Yasan", and "Demolition Dragon Blasthamut". She summons "Demolition Soldier High Kanko" with 1200 ATK and "Demolition Soldier Sakan Yasan" with 1300 ATK. She activates "Demolition Survey" and sends the top two cards of her Deck to the Graveyard ("Fusion" and another "Sakan Yasan") and if there is a Field Spell among them, she can add it to her hand. Yudias asks "No Field Spells, yes?" Asaka sacrifices two to tribute summon. She chants "Cry! Resound! O dragon of black steel! Blow up granite and blast through basalt! Demolition Dragon Blasthamut, begin operation!" while Demolition Dragon Blasthamut is being summoned, with 2500 ATK. London compliments that Asaka is going full aggro with Blasthamut since Demolition Survey was a dud. Asaka tells him to "bring his might" to bear from the beginning because that's the Machine Cavalry Way and she ends her turn.
Yuamu declares her turn and draws, her hand containing "RB Draphone", "Platinum Burn Dragon", "Multi-Mode Dragon", "Dragosite", and "Applizard". She tells herself that she doesn't want to lose this duel, if she wins she becomes president. Asaka is annoyed and tells her to withdraw from their match and she has forgotten all about the spirit of Rush Duels. The girls won't know who will be the winner until the very end. Asaka yells at Yuamu that if she's forgotten that, she doesn't deserve to duel. Yuamu is shocked but she agrees. Asaka will not withdraw. Yuamu, determined, says that if that's what Asaka wants, she'll finish this as fast as possible. With fiery eyes, it definitely ends in her win. She then summons "Applizard" with 1500 ATK, "Dragosite" with zero ATK, and "Multi-Mode Dragon" with 800 ATK. She activates the effect of "Multi-Mode Dragon", drawing and sacrificing a card. She tributes "Dragosite" to Tribute Summon "Platinum Burn Dragon" with 1900 ATK. She sends the top two cards of her deck to the Graveyard to activate Platinum Burn Dragon's effect. It gains 200 ATK until the end of this turn, where the monster's ATK increases to 2100. Then, she can add one "Burst Wave - Platinum Band" from her Graveyard to her hand and it gains two levels during the Main Phase. With the Level 8 Platinum Burn on Yuamu's field, she activates the Field Spell "Burst Wave - Platinum Band". She sets two cards and moves to battle. With Platinum Band's effect, all face-up Level 6 or lower Dragons on Yuamu's field can attack directly. Yudias points out that all three of Yuamu's monsters are six or below. London knows that their total ATK is 4400. Bochi and Manya realize that if Yuamu attacks directly, it will be her win. Badlove worriedly shouts Asaka's name. Yuamu told Asaka that she'd finish this quickly.
Asaka activates the Trap "Demolition Barricade", causing Platinum Burn Dragon's attack to negate. For the rest of this turn, all Level 7 or lower monsters cannot declare attacks. Yuhi worries about his sister's three attacks. Damamu thinks the trap is cool. Since Yuamu couldn't finish her attack, she ends her turn. Asaka declares her turn and draws, her hand containing "High Kanko", "Constructor Battler Big Roller", "Demolition Shutter", "Demolition Soldier Toby Shock", and "Demolition Soldier Hell Met". The Field Spell is active, so Asaka uses Blasthamut's effect. All monsters on Yuamu's field are destroyed. Asaka exclaims "Quarry Explosion!" and for every monster destroyed by the effect, Yuamu will be dealt 300 damage. As a result, Yuamu's LP reduces to 3100. Yuamu gasps in surprise that Asaka used her Platinum Band against her. Asaka will use everything she has at her disposal. She will become Student Council President and top dog of the school no matter what. Yuamu activates the trap "RB Draphone". She sends the top two cards of her Deck to the Graveyard. Then, she can Special Summon one "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" or "Red Boot Boost Dragon" from her Graveyard. She Special Summons "Red Boot Boost Dragon" in Defense Position. Yudias, George, and Jouge are amazed. Asaka summons "Demolition Soldier Hell Met" with 400 ATK and sends "Toby Shock" from her hand to the Graveyard and pays 500 LP, causing her LP to reduce to 3500. She adds "Fusion" from her grave to her hand. Manya addresses that Yuamu is still pretty amazing for being able to summon "Red Boot" even though all her monsters were destroyed and Asaka paying the LP cost with no hesitation to add "Fusion" back. Asaka uses "Demolition Dragon Blasthamut" and "Demolition Soldier Hell Met" as materials to Fusion Summon. She chants "Blasting through the limits of sorrow and beyond grief... Emerges new life! Demolition Charge Dragon Dangerous Blasthamut!". It appears that the fusion has 3000 ATK. Everyone is shocked. Asaka exclaims that this is the power of her resolve, the pledge she made to dedicate her future to Yuna and That Guy. She flashbacks that in those days, Yuna's eyes were always drawn to That Guy. But even if she pushed her feelings aside, the time she and her friends spent was still something to be treasured. That's when the blue crystal took That Guy and Yuna and Asaka did nothing but watch. Asaka now must become student council president and change the school. She will eventually take back everyone's pride and Mutsuba's land. Yuamu says Asaka's name in amazement. Asaka equips "Demolition Shutter" to "Demolition Charge Dragon Dangerous Blasthamut". She explains that a monster equipped with "Demolition Shutter" can't be destroyed by battle. If there is a face-up Field Spell, both this Equip and the monster is equipped to can't be destroyed by effects. But there is no way Yuamu could out such an invincible monster. Asaka activates Dangerous Blasthamut's effect and chooses one monster on her field and up to two monsters on Yuamu's and destroy them. She destroys "Red Boot Boost Dragon". London acknowledges that "Dangerous Blasthamut" can't be destroyed thanks to the equip. Asaka deals 500 damage to Yuamu for every monster destroyed, reducing Yuamu to 2600 LP.
Yuamu worries that she'll lose, but she still doesn't want to become president since it's frustrating. Yudias cheers on for Yuamu and encourages her that she doesn't know until the end. He then reveals to her that everyone voted for her. The students shout "Fight on, Yuamu Ohdo!" Yudias relies to Yuamu that a warrior entrusted with the feelings of their friends becomes stronger no matter how fierce the battle may be. Just as Asaka is about to finish this off with "Dangerous Blasthamut", Yuamu activates the trap, "Dralight Format", in which "Dangerous Blasthamut" loses 100 ATK for every LIGHT Dragon in her Graveyard for a total of 600. Asaka's monster falls to 2400 ATK, as a result. Then all of Yuamu's dragons return to her Deck. Asaka declares "Dangerous Explosion!" as her monster fires missiles at Yuamu, reducing her LP to 200. Asaka ends her turn. Yuamu declares her turn and draws, her hand containing "Dragon's Burst Fusion", "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon", "Booster Wyvern", "Beta Burn Dragon", and "Alpha Burn Drake". She summons "Alpha Burn Drake" with 600 ATK, "Beta Burn Dragon" with 1400 ATK, and "Booster Wyvern" with 300 ATK. She then uses Beta Burn Dragon's effect and deals Asaka 100 damage for every monster on her field as Asaka's LP reduces to 3400. Yuamu sacrifices two monsters to tribute summon "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" with 2500 ATK. She activates Booster Wyvern's effect and deals Asaka 600 damage as her opponent's LP falls to 2800. Asaka can't even feel these bug bites from damage. Then, Yuamu uses "Dragon Burst Fusion". She uses "Blue Tooth" and "Booster Wyvern" as materials to tribute summon. She chants "Blue as the sky and sea flies a miraculous dragon with a speed faster than wind or sound! Come out! Blue Tooth Enhanced Burst Dragon!" This reveals that Yuamu's fusion monster has 3000 ATK. Yuamu explains to Asaka that if one of the materials used was "Blue Tooth", Dragon Burst Fusion's effect also lowers Dangerous Blasthamut's ATK by 1500 until the end of the turn. Asaka declares that no amount of power or explosions will ever smash "Dangerous Blasthamut" to smithereens. Yuamu has a hunch all of a sudden. She is sure that there's definitely a road forward and sees the same road Yuhi saw earlier. Asaka realizes that Yuamu has the same eyes as That Guy's. Yuamu sends a monster from her field to the Graveyard to activate Blue Tooth Enhanced Burst Dragon's effect, then she can destroy one face-up card on the field. The card she will destroy is the "Burst Wave Platinum Band". Yudias is shocked that Yuamu destroyed her own card. The effect also lets Yuamu summon "Blue Tooth" from the Graveyard. She sends "Hacking Dragon" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard to use Blue Tooth's effect, much to Asaka's horror. Yuamu tells her that if there's no Field Spell active, that Equip Spell of hers is useless. All monsters with 1500 or less ATK on Asaka's field are destroyed. Yumau delcares "Data Erasing of Destruction" as "Blue Tooth" fires a blue beam at "Dangerous Blasthamut". "Blue Tooth" gains 300 ATK as it increases to 2800. Yuamu declares "Burst Streaming of Destruction" as "Blue Tooth" fires a huge, fiery blue beam at Asaka. As a result, Asaka has reduced to zero LP and the attack blows off her feet. Yuamu has won the Duel.
Later, Asaka has no regrets since she decided to vote Yuamu as Student Council President. Yuamu confesses that she doesn't want to be president and passes the vote to Asaka. Asaka refuses since Yuamu won the Rush Duel. Yuamu holds her hand and begs for her to put aside her Machine Cavalry Way and pride for a moment. She encourages everyone to support Asaka, which they all agree with and chant Asaka's name. Yuamu recalls what Yudias said earlier and tells it to Asaka. Asaka reluctantly accepts to be Student Council President. Yuamu leaps onto Asaka and hugs her as a thank you. Meanwhile, Phaser orders Manabu and Nyandestar to find That Guy's card.
Featured Duel: Yuamu Ohdo vs. Asaka Mutsuba[edit]
The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.
Turn 1: Asaka
Asaka's hand contains "Demolition Survey", "Demolition Barricade", "Demolition Soldier High Kanko", "Demolition Soldier Sakan Yasan" and "Demolition Dragon Blasthamut". Asaka Normal Summons "Demolition Soldier High Kanko" (1200/1500) and "Demolition Soldier Sakan Yasan" (1300/800). As Asaka controls two or more Wyrm Type monsters she activates the Spell Card "Demolition Survey", sending the top two cards of her Deck to the Graveyard, and if she sends a Spell Card(s) she can add a Field Spell Card from her Graveyard to her hand. She sends the Normal Spell Card "Fusion" and another copy of "Sakan Yasan" to the Graveyard. Asaka Tributes "High Kanko" and "Sakan Yasan" to Tribute Summon "Demolition Dragon Blasthamut" (2500/2000). Asaka Sets a card.
Turn 2: Yuamu
Yuamu's hand contains "RB Draphone", "Platinum Burn Dragon", "Multi-Mode Dragon", "Dragosite" and "Applizard". Yuamu Normal Summons "Applizard" (1500/0), "Dragosite" (0/1500), and "Multi-Mode Dragon" (800/1200). Yuamu activates the effect of "Multi-Mode Dragon", drawing a card. She draws "Dralight Format". Yuamu Tributes "Dragosite" to Tribute Summon "Platinum Burn Dragon" (1900/0). Yuamu activates the effect of "Platinum Burn Dragon", sending the top two cards of her Deck to the Graveyard to increase its ATK by 200 until the end of the turn, then she can add a "Burst Wave - Platinum Band" from her Graveyard to her hand and increase the Level of "Platinum Burn Dragon" by 2 during this Main Phase. She sends "Red Boot Boost Dragon" and "Burst Wave - Platinum Band" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard ("Platinum Burn Dragon": 1900 → 2100/0) and adds "Burst Wave - Platinum Band" from her Graveyard to her hand ("Platinum Burn Dragon": Level 6 → Level 8). As Yuamu controls a Level 7 or higher Dragon Type monster, she activates the Field Spell Card "Burst Wave - Platinum Band". The effect of "Platinum Band" allows Level 6 or lower Dragon Type monsters to attack directly. Yuamu Sets two cards. "Platinum Burn Dragon" attacks Asaka directly via the effect of "Platinum Band", but as Yuamu's Level 7 or lower monster declared an attack while Asaka controls a Level 7 or higher Wyrm Type monster she activates her Set Trap Card "Demolition Barricade", negating the attack and preventing Yuamu from attacking with Level 7 or lower monsters this turn.
Turn 3: Asaka
Asaka draws "High Kanko", "Constructor Battler Big Roller", "Demolition Shutter", "Demolition Soldier Toby Shock", and "Demolition Soldier Hell Met". As there is a face-up Field Spell Card on the field, Asaka activates the effect of "Blasthamut", sending two Wyrm Type Normal Monsters from her hand to the Graveyard to destroy all face-up monsters Yuamu controls, then inflict 300 damage to Yuamu x the number of monsters destroyed. She sends "High Kanko" and "Big Roller" to the Graveyard and destroys "Multi-Mode Dragon", "Platinum Burn Dragon" and "Applizard" (Yuamu: 4000 → 3100 LP). As a face-up Dragon Type monster Yuamu controls was destroyed by Asaka's attack or card effect, she activates her Set Trap Card "RB Draphone", sending the top two cards of her Deck to the Graveyard, then if she controls no monsters she can Special Summon "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" or "Red Boot Boost Dragon" from her Graveyard. She sends "Captcha Dragon" and "Swipe Sleipnir" to her Graveyard and Special Summons "Red Boot Boost Dragon" from her Graveyard in Defense Position (2400/1600).[Notes 1] Asaka Normal Summons "Demolition Soldier Hell Met" (400/400). Asaka activates the effect of "Hell Met", send a card from her hand to the Graveyard except "Fusion" and paying 500 LP to add "Fusion" from her Graveyard to her hand, then she can add a Field Spell Card from her Graveyard to her hand. She sends "Toby Shock" (Asaka: 4000 → 3500 LP) and adds "Fusion" to her hand. Asaka activates the Spell Card "Fusion", Fusion Summoning using monsters she controls as material. She fuses "Demolition Dragon Blasthamut" and "Demolition Soldier Hell Met" to Fusion Summon "Demolition Charge Dragon Dangerous Blasthamut" (3000/2500) in Attack Position. Asaka activates the Equip Spell Card "Demolition Shutter", equipping it to a Wyrm Type monster she controls. She equips "Demolition Shutter" to "Dangerous Blasthamut". The effect of "Demolition Shutter" prevents the equipped monster from being destroyed by battle while it is in Attack Position, and prevents itself and the equipped monster from being destroyed by card effects while a card is in a Field Zone. Asaka activates the effect of "Dangerous Blasthamut", destroying one face-up card she controls and one or two monsters Yuamu controls, then inflicting damage to Yuamu equal to the number of monsters destroyed by this effect x 500. She chooses to destroy "Dangerous Blasthamut" and "Red Boot", but due to the effect of "Demolition Shutter", "Dangerous Blasthamut" is not destroyed, so only "Red Boot" is destroyed (Yuamu: 3100 → 2600 LP). "Dangerous Blasthamut" attacks Yuamu directly, but as Asaka's monster declared an attack, Yuamu activates her Set Trap Card "Dralight Format", reducing the ATK of the attacking monster equal to the number of LIGHT Attribute Dragon Type monsters in her Graveyard x 100 until the end of the turn, then shuffling all LIGHT Attribute Dragon Type monsters from her Graveyard into the Deck. Yuamu has six LIGHT Attribute Dragon Type monsters in her Graveyard ("Applizard", "Dragosite", "Multi-Mode Dragon", "Platinum Burn Dragon", "Captcha Dragon" and "Swipe Sleipnir"; "Dangerous Blasthamut": 3000 → 2400) and shuffles them into the Deck (Yuamu: 2600 → 200 LP).
Turn 4: Yuamu
Yuamu draws "Dragon's Burst Fusion", "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon", "Booster Wyvern", "Beta Burn Dragon" and "Alpha Burn Drake". Yuamu Normal Summons "Alpha Burn Drake" (600/1000), "Beta Burn Dragon" (1400/0) and "Booster Wyvern" (300/300). As "Beta Burn Dragon" was Normal Summoned this turn and Yuamu controls another Dragon Type monster she activates its effect, inflicting damage to Asaka equal to the number of monsters she controls x 100. Asaka controls "Dangerous Blasthamut" (Asaka: 3500 → 3400). Yuamu Tributes "Alpha Burn Drake" and "Beta Burn Dragon" to Tribute Summon "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon (2500/1500). As Yuamu Normal or Special Summoned "Booster Wyvern" this turn and controls "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" or "Red Boot Boost Dragon", she activates its effect, inflicting 600 damage to Asaka (Asaka: 3400 → 2800 LP). Yuamu activates the Spell Card "Dragon's Burst Fusion", Fusion Summoning by sending face-up Dragon Type monsters from her field to the Graveyard as material, then if she sent "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" to the Graveyard by this effect she can reduce the ATK of one face-up monster Asaka controls by 1500 until the end of the turn. She fuses "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" and "Booster Wyvern" to Fusion Summon "Blue Tooth Enhanced Burst Dragon" (3000/2000) in Attack Position, then chooses to reduce the ATK of "Dangerous Blasthamut" ("Dangerous Blasthamut": 3000 → 1500/2000). Yuamu activates the effect of "Blue Tooth Enhanced Burst Dragon", send one monster she controls to the Graveyard to destroy one face-up card on either field, then if she sent a monster whose original Level is 7 or higher to the Graveyard to meet the requirement she can Special Summon one "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" from your Graveyard face-up to your field. She sends the Level 9 "Enhanced Burst Dragon" to the Graveyard and destroys "Platinum Band", then Special Summons "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" from her Graveyard (2500/1500) in Attack Position. Yuamu activates the effect of "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon", sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard to destroy all monsters Asaka controls with 1500 or less ATK, then "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" gains 300 ATK for each monster destroyed by this effect. She sends "Hacking Dragon" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard and destroys the 1500 ATK "Dangerous Blasthamut" ("Blue Tooth": 2500 → 2800/1500). "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" attacks Asaka directly (Asaka: 2800 → 0 LP).
