Episode 174 - Activate, Clear World! Ferocious Negative Effect

Episode Summary

Atticus challenges the real Yusuke Fujiwara to duel in hopes of freeing of everyone that was trapped in the Dark World, but is quickly at a disadvantage because of his opponent's "Clear" cards. Eventually, Jaden and Jesse arrive and witness the duel. During this time Fujiwara reveals that everyone was being pulled in the dark world, because he viewed existing a human individual only brought pain. Atticus eventually forces the duel to a draw, but, to everyone's shock it turns out that large portion of the duel was an illusion Fujiwara created, and returns to the point where the duel really was and the defeats Atticus. He then faces off against Jaden and Jesse in a Triangle Duel.

Clear Phantom's effect activates, destroying Red-Eyes Wyvern, while also sending the top three cards of Atticus' Deck to the Graveyard.

Nightshroud activates Memory Snatcher, so Atticus cannot verify the cards in his Graveyard.

Nightshroud's Turn

Summons Clear Rage Golem (1600/1800) in Attack Mode.

Attacks Atticus directly with Clear Rage Golem.

Attcius activates Offensive Guard, which halves Clear Rage Golem's ATK, while letting himself draw one card. (Atticus 3200)

Clear Rage Golem's effect activates, handing Atticus 300 damage for every card in Atticus' hand. (5x300=1500) (Atticus 1700)

Sets one card.

Atticus' Turn

Activates Swing of Memories, but can't remember Red-Eyes B. Dragon's name in the Graveyard.

At this point, Jaden and Jesse arrive and Atticus remembers Red Eyes B. Dragon's name and Summons it with Swing of Memories. (2400/2000)

Attacks Clear Rage Golem with Red Eyes. (Nightshroud 2600)

Sets one card.

At the end of the turn, Red-Eyes B. Dragon is destroyed by the Swing of Memories effect, but Atticus removes Red-Eyes Wyvern from play to Special Summon Red Eyes B. Dragon again. (2400/2000)

At this point, Nightshroud is revealed to be Yusuke Fujiwara under Nightshroud's control.

Yusuke's Turn

Activates the Field Spell, Clear World, which makes the owner of certain monsters take a negative effect, depending on the Attribute.

Activates Clear Sacrifice, removing Clear Rage Golem and Clear Phantom from play to Normal Summon Clear Vice Dragon (0/0) without a tribute in Attack Mode

Even though Clear World is on the field, all Clear monsters are treated as if they have no Attribute, so Yusuke takes no negative effect

Attacks Red-Eyes B. Dragon with Clear Vice Dragon, whose effect makes its own ATK double that of its target (4800/0)

Atticus activates Burst Breath, destroying Red-Eyes B. Dragon and Clear Vice Dragon

(From this point on, the duel is just an illusion for Yusuke to see Atticus' darkness of heart; the real duel ending is at the bottom...)

Summons Hunter Dragon (1700/100) in Attack Mode.

Since Hunter Dragon is a DARK Attribute, Clear World makes Atticus unable to attack with Hunter Dragon.

Yusuke's Turn

Activates face-down Nihilistic Summoning Technique, which Special Summons Clear Rage Golem back with 0 ATK

Equips Clear Rage Golem with Attribute Mastery and declares DARK, so any DARK monster Clear Rage Golem battles be destroyed without damage calculation

Equips Clear Rage Golem with Attribute Bomb and declares DARK, so whenever Clear Rage Golem destroys a DARK monster, Atticus takes 1000 damage.

Attacks Hunter Dragon with Clear Rage Golem, and by the combined effects of Attribute Mastery and Attribute Bomb, it is destroyed and Atticus takes 1000 damage (Atticus 700)

Atticus' Turn

Activates Dark Factory of Mass Production, returning Red-Eyes B. Dragon and Hunter Dragon from his Graveyard to his hand.

Summons Red-Eyes B. Chick (800/500) and tributes it to Special Summon Red-Eyes B. Dragon in Attack Mode. (2400/2000)

Activates Inferno Fire Blast, making a direct attack on Yusuke's Life Points with Red-Eyes B. Dragon. (Yusuke 200)

Sets one card.

Yusuke's Turn

Attacks Red-Eyes B. Dragon with Clear Rage Golem, destroying it by Attribute Mastery's effect, since it is a DARK monster.

Atticus activates Red-Eyes Burn, making both players take Red-Eyes B. Dragon's ATK as damage (Atticus 0) (Yusuke 0)

A draw, but this was all an illusion brought on by Nightshroud to uncover Atticus' darkness of heart.

Atticus activates Burst Breath in an attempt to destroy the pair, but Yusuke discards Attribute Mastery to negate the activation of Burst Breath.
