Jack Atlas stole this card from Yusei Fudo along with the first Duel Runner Yusei made, before acquiring his fame in New Domino. The start of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime revolves around Yusei trying to get to Jack to win back the card.

After Yusei escapes into Neo Domino City, Jack gives him the card, but Yusei insists that he Duel Jack for it. As they Duel, Jack Summons both "Red Dragon Archfiend" and "Stardust Dragon", but Yusei manages to take control of Stardust. The dragons clashing caused the Crimson Dragon to appear prematurely ending their Duel. Yusei is arrested before he can reclaim the card.

At the Facility, Tenzen Yanagi tells Yusei about Signers and the Five Dragons, which leads Yusei to deduce "Stardust Dragon" is one of these sacred dragons.

Jack later returns the card to Yusei and ask him if he'll be participating in the Fortune Cup.

Yusei plans saving "Stardust Dragon" for the final game in the Fortune Cup against Jack, but adds it to his Deck to help reach out to Akiza Izinski in his Duel with her.

In the Japanese anime, while Summoning "Stardust Dragon", Yusei chants "Clustering hopes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Take flight, Stardust Dragon!" while Jack chants "Behold the wings guided by the great winds! Synchro Summon! Reverberate. Stardust Dragon!"

In the Japanese anime, "Stardust Dragon's" attack is "Shooting Sonic" and its effect is "Victim Sanctuary". In the English anime its attack name is "Cosmic Flare".
