- Use "De-Synchro" to use this card's effect twice and cripple your opponent further.
- You can counter this card's effect with "Mirror of the Ice Barrier".
For Synchro Summoning
- In a Disaster Dragon Deck, you can play Future Fusion, ditching 2 Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon's, and two Red-Eyes Wyvern's, and any other dragon you wish. At the end of the turn, special summon both Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon's, and use their abilities to special summon the appropriate dragons for Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier. Example : Another Red-Eyes Wyvern, Troop Dragon, and Delta Flyer.
- In a Disaster Dragon deck, one possible way to Synchro Summon this card is this: have "Trigon" and "Totem Dragon" in your Graveyard, while you control no monsters and have a "Debris Dragon" in your hand. Then, when your turn comes, Special Summon Totem Dragon with its effect (assuming that the only monsters in your Graveyard are Dragon-Type), Normal Summon Debris Dragon and activate it's effect to Special Summon Trigon from your Graveyard and Tune the three monsters for a Trishula. The advantage of this method is that you only need to Normal Summon one time, as opposed to Normal Summoning twice, or even three times for the Synchro Material Monsters and then worry about keeping them on the field while you Summon the other two on consecutive turns.
- As far as having Totem Dragon and Trigon in your Graveyard is concerned, this can be accomplished either by sending them there via the effect of "Future Fusion", "Dragon Ravine", "Foolish Burial" (only one of them), or simply by searching them out with "Masked Dragon" (or Drawing and Setting them) and having them either attacked by your opponent's monster(s) or sent to the Graveyard by a card effect. You could also Tribute them to Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Prime Material Dragon, etc. If you Summon REDMD this way, you can then activate it's effect to revive either one (preferably Trigon, due to its higher DEF stat) from the Graveyard and use Debris Dragon to bring out the other one on your turn. This way, you'll get a Trishula and have a REDMD, PMD, etc. on your field.
- Discard either Trigon or Totem Dragon to send the other one from your Deck to the Graveyard with the effect of Dragon Ravine.
- Make sure to use cards like "Giant Trunade"/"Mystical Space Typhoon"/"Stamping Destruction" or have "Trap Stun"/"Seven Tools of the Bandit" set to ensure that this play is not interrupted.
- Discard either Trigon or Totem Dragon to send the other one from your Deck to the Graveyard with the effect of Dragon Ravine.
- As far as having Totem Dragon and Trigon in your Graveyard is concerned, this can be accomplished either by sending them there via the effect of "Future Fusion", "Dragon Ravine", "Foolish Burial" (only one of them), or simply by searching them out with "Masked Dragon" (or Drawing and Setting them) and having them either attacked by your opponent's monster(s) or sent to the Graveyard by a card effect. You could also Tribute them to Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Prime Material Dragon, etc. If you Summon REDMD this way, you can then activate it's effect to revive either one (preferably Trigon, due to its higher DEF stat) from the Graveyard and use Debris Dragon to bring out the other one on your turn. This way, you'll get a Trishula and have a REDMD, PMD, etc. on your field.
- Another way to Synchro Summon this card in a Disaster Dragon Deck is to use "Masked Dragon", "Debris Dragon", and "Totem Dragon". You need to have "Totem Dragon" in your Graveyard (see above) and "Debris Dragon" in your hand. Set "Masked Dragon". Even if it is attacked and destroyed by your opponent's monster(s) and sent to the Graveyard, just Special Summon another one (or another Level 3 Dragon like "Exploder Dragon"). Then, when your turn comes, Normal Summon "Debris Dragon", use it's effect to Special Summon "Totem Dragon" from the Graveyard and Tune the three monsters for a Trishula.
- Use "Urgent Tuning" during the Battle Phase after your monsters have finished attacking to have this card's effect activate and be able to attack.
- In a Blackwing Deck, have "Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor" Special Summoned by "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame"'s Effect, then Special Summon "Blackwing - Bora the Spear" from your Hand to Synchro Summon this Card.
- In a Cyberdark Deck, Normal Summon "Cyberdark Horn", "Cyberdark Keel" or "Cyberdark Edge" and Equip it with "Dragunity Phalanx" while you have a Level 3 Monster on your Field.
- One Option would be using Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to Special Summon the Level 3 Dragon-Type Monster.
- In a Dragunity Deck, with "Dragunity Phalanx" and "Blackwing - Zephyrus the Elite" in your Graveyard, Normal Summon "Dragunity Legionnaire" and Equip "Phalanx" to it. Have "Phalanx" Special Summon itself then Return a Spell/Trap Card to Special Summon "Zephyrus" from the Graveyard.
- Use the Effect of Dragon Ravine to Send "Phalanx" and "Zephyrus" to the Graveyard by Discarding "Zephyrus" and Sending "Phalanx" to the Graveyard.
- In a T.G. Deck, normal summon Junk Syncron special summon T.G. Striker, then special summon two T.G. Werewolf form the hand.
- In a Fish Synchro Deck, use the effect the of "Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth" to Special Summon 1 "Royal Swamp Eel", 1 Level 2 Monster, 1 Level 3 or Level 4 Monster and 1 Level 1 Monster to the Field to Synchro Summon this Card.
- ("Oyster Meister" or "Ocean's Keeper") + ("Piranha Army" or "Nimble Sunfish"), ("Metabo-Shark" or "Unshaven Angler") + ("Deepsea Macrotrema") are Examples for this Combination.
- In a Gravekeeper's Deck, use "Gravekeeper's Spy" to Special Summon a Level 4 "Gravekeeper's" Monster from your Deck. Then Normal Summon a Level 1 Tuner Monster (Preferably an "Effect Veiler") to Synchro Summon this Card.
- In an Infernity Deck, use the Effect of "Infernity Mirage" or "Infernity Launcher" to Special Summon 1 "Infernity Beetle" and 1 "Infernity Necromancer". Use "Necromancer's" Effect to then Special Summon "Infernity Archfiend" from your Graveyard and Synchro Summon this Card.
- In a Nordic Deck, use the 2 Level 3 Tokens Special Summoned by the Effect of "Tanngrisnir of the Nordic Beasts" and a *Level 3 (*See Below) "Vanadis of the Nordic Ascendant" to Synchro Summon this Card.
- Using the Effect of "Vanadis of the Nordic Ascendant", its Level will Become 3 by Sending a Level 3 "Tanngrisnir of the Nordic Beasts" or "Tanngnjostr of the Nordic Beasts" from your Deck to your Graveyard.
- Using a Different Method, "Mara of the Nordic Alfar" can Send "Garmr of the Nordic Beasts", "Ljosalf of the Nordic Alfar" or "Tyr of the Nordic Champions" and "Tanngrisnir of the Nordic Beasts" or "Tanngnjostr of the Nordic Beasts" from your Hand to your Graveyard to Synchro Summon this Card.
- In a Plant Synchro Deck, Send "Dandylion" to the Graveyard with "Hand Destruction" or "Foolish Burial" and Special Summon 2 "Fluff Tokens". Normal Summon Debris Dragon and Special Summon "Dandylion" from your Graveyard to Synchro Summon this card. "Dandylion" will then Special Summon 2 more "Fluff Tokens".
- You can Activate "Synchro Strike" to Increase its ATK by 2000 Since it was Synchro Summoned using 4 Synchro Material Monsters.
- In a Synchro Summon Deck, while you have a "Quillbolt Hedgehog" in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon "The Tricky" by Discarding "The Fabled Cerburrel", Special Summoning it and "Quillbolt Hedgehog" to Synchro Summon this card.
- Using a Different Method, while "Tuningware" is in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon "Cyber Dragon", then Normal Summon "Junk Synchron" and Special Summon "Tuningware" from your Graveyard using its Effect to Synchro Summon this card and Draw 1 Card.
- In a WATER Deck, use "Water Hazard" to Special Summon a Level 4 WATER Monster from your Hand. Normal Summon "Deep Sea Diva" and Special Summon a Level 3 Sea Serpent-Type Monster from your Deck using its Effect to Synchro Summon is Card.
- Alternatively, you could Special Summon "Aqua Spirit"/"Fenrir", Followed by the Above Combination with "Diva".
- In a Fairy/Agent Deck, Special Summon "The Agent of Creation - Venus" with "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen"/"Celestial Transformation"/"Photon Lead", then Special Summon 2 "Mystical Shine Balls". Normal Summon "The Agent of Mystery - Earth" and its effect will activate to add "Master Hyperion" to your hand if "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field, then Synchro Summon this card and activate its effect and Special Summon "Master Hyperion" to destroy up to 2 cards on the field. Now you have 2 powerful monsters.

For Synchro Summoning
- In a Frog Deck, this Card can be Synchro Summoned 3 at a time using the Effect of "Substitoad" and "Fishborg Blaster":
- By Controlling a "Substitoad" while a "Ronintoadin" and "Fishborg Blaster" are in your Graveyard, Special Summon "Ronintoadin" and "Fishborg Blaster" using their Effects (Preferably Discarding a "Frog" Monster for "Fishborg Blaster") and Tribute "Ronintoadin" to Special Summon "Des Frog" from your Deck using the Effect of "Substitoad". Special Summon "Ronintoadin" Again and Tribute it Again to Special Summon a "Beelze Frog" from your Deck using the Effect of "Substitoad" to Synchro Summon this Card using "Fishborg Blaster", "Beelze Frog" and "Des Frog". Tribute "Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" for "Substitoad"'s Effect and Repeat the Process.
- This Combination can be Restarted by using "Pot of Avarice", "Burial from a Different Dimension" and "Moray of Greed".
