Yu-Gi-Oh! - Duel 003

Hard Beat! is the third chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series.

Yugi is forced to sell tickets for Sozoji's concert or suffer consequences. Not wanting to put his friends through Sozoji's horrible singing or have them pick a fight, Yugi insists that he's fine and won't tell them what he's been made do.

Reason for challenge

Sozoji not only forced Yugi into hearing his awful singing, but also beat up Hanasaki for giving Yugi the tickets to the concert rather than selling them. When Yugi found out about this, he became Yami Yugi and challenged Sozoji to a Shadow Game.

The Sound Pierrot doll used in this game.

• Two "Sound Pierrot" dolls were placed on a table. The dolls dance when a sound occurs nearby.
• The first person to make a sound and cause the clown to dance loses.
• If Yugi loses, he gives Sozoji his life.
• If Sozoji loses, he is subject to a Penalty Game.

The game

• Sozoji notices that, when Yugi pulled the headphones out upon his transformation, the jack landed on the rim of a glass.
• If the jack were to fall, it would make a noise and cause Yugi to lose.
• Sozoji gets so excited waiting for the jack to fall, that his heart starts pounding.
• The clown dances, but the jack hasn't fallen: the sound of Sozoji's heartbeat, amplified by the speakers, caused the sound. Sozoji loses.

Penalty Game

"Beat Festival". Sozoji is forced to hear his heartbeat get louder and louder.
