Video game debutYu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation
Ryou, Bakura

Bakura Ryou is a Duelist Construct of Yami Bakura from the Yu-Gi-Oh! series in the Virtual Dueling System. He is also the opponent that the player faced in Stage 4-2 of the Classic Campaign mode in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation. The player has to defeat him in a Duel in order to unlock the next stage and progress Campaign mode.

Appearance[edit]

As a Duelist Construct, his outfit is what he wore one time during the Battle City arc in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series. Also, the necklace around his neck is based on the Millennium Ring which is one of the seven Millennium Items.

Etymology[edit]

His surname "Ryou" can mean "cool, refreshing," "distant," or "reality". It is a variant of "Ryo". In the German version, his surname "Ryou" was omitted.

Rewards[edit]

There are a total of six rewards that the player can earn and received after defeating the Duel Construct in a Duel. The first two rewards are cards that come from the Duel Construct's Deck and the third reward is a recipe for their Deck. Then the fourth, fifth and sixth rewards repeated the same process of the three earlier rewards, but in a harder difficulty with a different Deck. In addition, the sixth reward will allow the player to have the Duel Construct's avatar and the ability to Duel them anytime between the two difficulty.

Deck[edit]

Yami Bakura plays a Deck called Final Destiny, relying on the instant-win effect of "Destiny Board". This Deck also has Fiend monsters, many of which have a situational effect, except for "Headless Knight" who is a Normal Monster. "Battle Fader" will end a Battle Phase when the opponent's monster declares a direct attack, "Dark Ruler Ha Des" negate the effects of monsters destroyed by battle with the owner's Fiend monsters, "Doomcaliber Knight" can Tribute itself to negate a monster's effect activation and destroy it, and lastly, "Mask of Darkness" who is a Flip monster that can add a Trap from the owner's Graveyard to its hand after being flipped-up.

After the player defeat Bakura's Final Destiny Deck three times, the next difficulty and Deck is unlocked. "Dark Necrofear" is a card that Yami Bakura used alongside with "Destiny Board" to take control of the opponent's monster.

The Dark Necrofear Deck focuses on Summoning the signature card "Dark Necrofear", and it must first be Special Summoned by banishing 3 Fiend monsters in the owner's Graveyard. Once "Dark Necrofear" is on the owner's field as a monster, if it was in the owner's Graveyard during the End Phase after it have been destroyed this turn (either by battle or card effect) while still acting as the owner's possession, it can target the opponent's monster and equip itself to the targeted monster. While that targeted monster is equipped to "Dark Necrofear", the effect of "Dark Necrofear" will take control of that target. "Dark Necrofear" isn't the only monster that can take control of a monster as "Tragoedia" can do so after sending a monster with same Level as that targeted monster and "Number 11: Big Eye" is a Xyz Monster that can detach one material to take control of the targeted monster, but "Big Eye" cannot attacked after using its effect this turn. Also, this Deck other strategy is to essentially relies on DARK Fiend monster that can Special Summoned themselves from the hand and swarm the field with their presence.
