Heartland is a city in a near future, where the main events of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL take place.
It gets its name from the large tower in the center of the city with a heart adorning the top. The exact location of Heartland is unconfirmed, but is most likely somewhere in Japan. In several parts of it, it resembles New Domino City, especially the pier as several highways tower over it, which may be a reference to the turbo lanes of New Domino City, or may be a sign that Turbo Duels are being considered to take place within the ZEXAL universe. By the river, there is a place that looks like the same sight where the duel between Yami Yugi and Strings took place. The Mayor of Heartland is Mr. Heartland.
Heartland will be the setting for the World Duel Carnival that will take place later on in the series.
