The Millennium Items in the tablet

The Millennium Items are seven treasures in Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories. They are based on the Millennium Items from the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga.

History[edit]

Ancient Egypt[edit]

The map in the Forbidden Ruins with the locations of the Millennium Items

The Millennium Items represent a pact where whoever gathers them together in the Forbidden Ruins may use them to summon Nitemare and gain supreme power.

Heishin discovered the Forbidden Ruins, where he read of the pact and found a map to the location of the Millennium Items, which he planned on using to gain power to rule the world. Heishin obtained the Millennium Rod and used it to attack the palace in search of the Millennium Puzzle. Simon Muran gave the Puzzle to the Prince and instructed him to run. However when he was unable to escape Heishin, Simon instructed him to shatter the Puzzle. This caused the Prince's soul to be sealed within the Puzzle.

Heishin proceeded to collect the other five Millennium Items and unleashed a portion of their powers of darkness. He held onto the Rod himself, lacked the Puzzle, and placed the other five in temples at areas he conquered to protect his holdings.

20th-century Japan[edit]

The Millennium Puzzle and the other Millennium Items in their cards

KaibaCorp hosted the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament, which happened to gather the holders of all seven Millennium Items.

Among the participants were Yugi, who had solved the Millennium Puzzle, causing the Prince to reside in his mind, and Shadi, who used the Millennium Key to allow Yugi to delve deep into his mind to meet with the Prince. The Prince then gave six blank Millennium Item Cards to Yugi.

In the subsequent rounds of the tournament, Yugi defeated the other Millennium Item holders in Duel Monsters, causing their Items to be sucked into the cards. Once he had collected the other six Items into their cards, they reacted with the Millennium Puzzle and sent the Prince back to his time.

Return to ancient Egypt[edit]

At the Forbidden Ruins, the Prince and Sadin found the map Heishin had used to find the locations of the Millennium Items. Seto told them what it was and that it could still be used to find the temples where Heishin was keeping the Items.

The Prince, who still held the Millennium Puzzle, defeated the High Mages at the temples, taking each of their five Millennium Items. Seto then guided him to the Dark Shrine, where he defeated Heishin, taking the Millennium Rod. With all seven Items, the Prince and Seto took them to the Forbidden Ruins, but Seto revealed he had double crossed the Prince and used him as a pawn to gather all seven Items for him. The Prince defeated Seto in a Duel and prepared to destroy the Items, but Heishin appeared and threatened to kill Seto unless the Prince handed the Items over.

Heishin placed the seven Millennium Items in the tablet, causing DarkNite to be awakened. However DarkNite felt in no way compelled to obey Heishin. Heishin cited the pact and said he had the Millennium Items. However DarkNite said he made no pact with Heishin and could not see the Items, which were not present, having just been used to summon him. He turned Heishin into a card and burned it, then turned to the Prince and Seto, planning on turning them into cards too. However the Prince was able to present the Millennium Item cards, representing the pact with DarkNite, in an attempt to send DarkNite back. DarkNite negotiated that the course of the pact be decided with the cards, so the Prince Dueled and defeated both his DarkNite and Nitemare forms.
