Grandfather of Yugi Muto.
Owns a game shop, and lives with Yugi.

Nowadays he is a healthy elderly man who is fairly nice, but during his younger days, he was a virtuoso when it came to any and all kinds of games, and was reputed to be invincible.
He is resented by Otogi's father due to something that happened between them during these years.

He is a remarkable duelist as well, and he cherishes and loves his cards.
According to Yugi, he has apparently never lost, even while he is not using rare cards.
He had an even battle against Kaiba, but despite using his Blue-Eyes White Dragon - a card of which there were only 4 copies in the world at the time - he was defeated when Kaiba used his 3 copies of Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Sugoroku's own copy was then torn down, leaving only three of them in existence.

During the battle between Yugi and Pegasus, he was sealed in a video as the penalty game of Pegasus' Dark Game, and used as a hostage to force Yugi out onto his battlefield.
