Blue Angel and Prototype Ai-B's Duel is the eighth Duel of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime, conducted between Blue Angel and Prototype Ai-B.

Prior events

As Playmaker infiltrated SOL Technologies' data bank, he was met with two Ai Duelists. To relieve the pressure on Playmaker, Blue Angel engaged the second Ai Duelist, Ai-B, in a Duel while Playmaker Dueled the first.

The Duel

Turn 1: Blue Angel
Blue Angel activates the Field Spell Card "Trickstar Light Stage", adding a "Trickstar" monster from her Deck to her hand. She adds "Trickstar Lilybell". As "Lilybell" was added to Blue Angel's hand except by drawing it, she activates its effect, Special Summoning it (800/2000) from her hand. Blue Angel Normal Summons "Trickstar Candina" (1800/400). As "Candina" was Normal Summoned, Blue Angel activates its effect, adding a "Trickstar" card from her Deck to her hand. She adds "Trickstar Vision". Blue Angel sets "Lilybell" and "Candina" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Trickstar Holly Angel" (2000/↙↘) to the Extra Monster Zone. Blue Angel activates the Spell Card "Trickstar Vision", Special Summoning a "Trickstar" monster from her hand, but its ATK becomes halved, also it has its effects negated, then each player draws a card. She Special Summons "Trickstar Narkissus" (1000 → 500/1800), then both players draw a card. Blue Angel Sets a card. Blue Angel activates the effect of "Trickstar Lycoris" in her hand, revealing it, then targeting a different "Trickstar" monster she controls to Special Summon it, then return that monster to the hand. She targets "Narkissus", Special Summons "Lycoris" (1600/1200) to the zone the bottom-left Link Arrow of "Holly Angel" points to, and returns "Narkissus" to her hand. Each time a "Trickstar" monster is Normal or Special Summoned to a zone "Holly Angel" points to, its effect inflicts 200 damage to Ai-B (Ai-B: 4000 → 3800 LP). Each time a "Trickstar" monster Blue Angel controls inflicts battle or effect damage to Ai-B, the effect of "Light Stage" inflicts 200 damage to him (Ai-B: 3800 → 3600 LP). As Ai-B took effect damage, Blue Angel activates the effect of "Narkissus" in her hand, Special Summoning it (1000/1800). She Special Summons it in Defense Position.

Turn 2: Ai-B
Ai-B draws. Each time a card is added to Ai-B's hand, the effect of "Lycoris" inflicts 200 damage to him for each (Ai-B: 3600 → 3400 → 3200 LP). As Ai-B took damage by a "Trickstar" monster's effect, the effect of "Holly Angel" activates, increasing its ATK equal to the damage he took, until the end of this turn ("Holly Angel": 2000 → 2200 ATK). Ai-B activates the Continuous Spell Card "Abyss Invitation". Ai-B activates the effect of "Tentacluster Darkwhip" in its hand, paying 500 LP to Special Summon it (100/500) (Ai-B: 3200 → 2700 LP). Each time Ai-B activates a monster effect in his hand or GY, the effect of "Narkissus" inflicts 200 damage to him immediately after it resolves (Ai-B: 2700 → 2500 → 2300 LP). As "Nautilus" was Link Summoned, Ai-B activates its effect, Special Summoning a "Tentacluster" monster from his hand to his zone "Nautilus" points to. Ai-B activates the effect of "Nautilus", targeting all monsters it points to and destroying them. He targets two copies of "Blastsucker". Ai-B activates the effect of "Blastsucker" in his GY, banishing it to inflict 400 damage to Blue Angel (Blue Angel: 2400 → 2000 LP, Ai-B: 2300 → 2100 → 1900 LP). As a player took 500 or less effect damage by the effect of another card, the effect of "Abyss Invitation" activates, inflicting 200 damage to Blue Angel (Blue Angel: 2000 → 1800 → 1600 → 1400 LP). As Ai-B took damage by a "Trickstar" monster's effect, the effect of "Holly Angel" activates, increasing its ATK equal to the damage he took, until the end of this turn ("Holly Angel": 2400 → 2600 ATK). Ai-B activates the Continuous Spell Card "Flexible Tentacluster", and activates its effect, targeting one of his banished "Tentacluster" monsters and Special Summoning it in Attack Position. He targets and Special Summons "Blastsucker" (400/400). "Blastsucker" attacks "Lycoris". As Ai-B's monster declared an attack, Blue Angel activates her face-down Trap Card "Trickstar Cascade", returning a "Trickstar" card she controls to the hand to negate the attack. She returns "Light Stage" and negates the attack of "Blastsucker".

Turn 3: Blue Angel
Blue Angel Normal Summons "Candina" (1800/400). As "Candina" was Normal Summoned, Blue Angel activates its effect, adding a "Trickstar" card from her Deck to her hand. She adds "Trickstar Temptation". Blue Angel sets "Narkissus" and "Lycoris" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Trickstar Black Catbat" (2000/←→) to the zone the bottom-left Link Arrow of "Holly Angel" points to (Ai-B: 1500 → 1300 LP). As a player took 500 or less effect damage by the effect of another card, the effect of "Abyss Invitation" activates, inflicting 200 damage to Blue Angel (Blue Angel: 400 → 200 LP). As Ai-B took damage by a "Trickstar" monster's effect, the effect of "Holly Angel" activates, increasing its ATK equal to the damage he took, until the end of this turn ("Holly Angel": 2000 → 2200 ATK). As Ai-B took damage by a "Trickstar" monster's effect, the effect of "Black Catbat" activates, reducing the ATK of all face-up monsters he controls by 200 for each monster "Black Catbat" points to, until the end of this turn. "Black Catbat" points to "Candina" ("Blastsucker": 400 → 200 ATK). As Blue Angel controls a "Trickstar" monster, she activates the Quick-Play Spell Card "Trickstar Temptation", targeting a monster on the field whose current ATK is different from its original ATK and returning it to the hand. He targets and returns "Blastsucker". "Holly Angel" attacks "Nautilus". Each turn, the first time Ai-B would take battle damage from an attack involving his "Tentacluster" monster, the effect of "Flexible Tentacluster" prevents him from taking it. The attack continues and "Nautilus" is destroyed. "Black Catbat" attacks Ai-B directly (Ai-B: 1300 → 0 LP).

Aftermath

After the Duel, Blue Angel was able to follow Playmaker to the data bank, where he witnessed him and Akira Duel.
