Battle City

Arkana

In the anime, Dark Magician Girl first appeared in the second season when the Pharoah was facing Arkana. Arkana had just Dark Magician onto the field via Dark Magic Curtain at the cost of half of his Life Points. But the Pharoah was aware that it also allowed him to Special Summon a Dark Spellcaster-Type monster, so he also chose to give up half of his Life Points for him to be able to summon Dark Magician Girl (Note: In the OCG, Dark Magic Curtain can only Special Summon Dark Magician, and even then, only for the original user of it). Her original ATK is only 2000 and at this point, Arkana's Dark Magician had 2500 ATK, so he chose to he attack with his Dark Magician. But her Special Ability granted her 300 attack points for every Dark Magician in either player's Graveyard. Because Arkana's first Dark Magician, as well as Yugi's Dark Magician are both in the Graveyard, she gained 600 extra ATK points, for a total of 2600. Arkana's Dark Magician was destroyed, and since he couldn't think of another move, Yugi took his turn to attack directly with Dark Magician Girl, ending the duel.

Strings

She was next summoned when Strings, controlled by Marik, had summoned Slifer the Sky Dragon and stopped the Pharaoh from attacking for two turns with Nightmare's Steelcage. The Pharaoh sacrificed Kuriboh to summon her then played the Magical Hats to hide her. He also placed Magic Cylinder and Spellbinging Circle under the hats. Slifer the Sky Dragon attacked the hat she was in but it was revealed that he could hide Trap Cards under the same hat the monster was in. Magic Cylinder absorbed the attack and Spellbinding Circle weakened Slifer. Then Magic Cylinder redirected the attack back at him. But Strings still had Revival Jam and Jam Defender in play from earlier, so the attack was redirected towards Revival Jam who then Special Summoned himself from the Graveyard. And, thanks to Strings having Card of Safe Return in play, this allowed Strings to draw three more cards, powering up Slifer the Sky Dragon even more. On the next turn Slifer the Sky Dragon attacked Dark Magician Girl, destroying her. (Note: Almost all of the above cards have different effects than in the real TCG & OCG.)

Yami Bakura

During the battle against Bakura when Bakura had his Dark Necrofear (ATK 2200) out the Pharaoh sacrificed his Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts to summon her, and join his Gamma The Magnet Warrior on the field and immediately equipped her with Magic Formula, raising her ATK by 500 to 2500, and he then had her attack, destroying Dark Necrofear (Note: In the real TCG, Dark Necrofear's special ability would have been activated). But that was what Bakura wanted, so that he could play Dark Sanctuary. The Pharaoh tried to attack with Gamma The Magnet Warrior but due to the Evil Ghost effect of Dark Santuary his attacks would fail and he would not only lose Life Points equal to half of the attacking monster's ATK, but Bakura would gain the Life Points Yugi lost. Not knowing if all of his monsters were possessed by the Evil Ghost, the Pharaoh ended his turn. Bakura then activates Destiny Board and it displayed the letter F. Bakura then plays The Dark Door, so both could only attack once per turn. Bakura explains that when all five letters of the Destiny Board are displayed. that he would lose everything and he ends his turn by summoning Earthbound Spirit and sacrificing it to maintain Dark Sanctuary. The Pharaoh summons Kuriboh in Defense Position and has Dark Magician Girl attack, but now the Evil Ghost was in her instead and the Pharaoh loses more Life Points to Bakura. Bakura explains that he can poses a different monster each turn. The Pharaoh ends his turn and Bakura adds the letter I to his Destiny Board. The Pharaoh questions out loud how Bakura can finish his message if every letter is a magic card and a duelist can only have five magic or trap cards in play at once, so with The Dark Door using up a slot, it couldn't be done, but Bakur only laughs and explains that Dark Sanctuary allows him to have more then five cards in play (In the Japanese he says he can play Spell and Trap Cards in his Monster Card Zones). Bakura then summons and sacrifices Sangan to maintain Dark Sanctuary. Sangans effect lets Bakura draw one card (Note: In the real TCG, Sangan's effect lets you take a monster of 1500 or less ATK from the your Deck, and add it to your hand.). The Pharaoh summons Big Shield Gardna in Defense Position, and attacks with Gamma the Magnet Warrior, but Bakura activates Dark Spirit of the Silent which changes the attacking monster to Dark Magician Girl, activating the Evil Ghost again costing the Pharaoh more Life Points. Bakura takes his turn adding the letter N to his Destiny Board and summons Souls of the Forgotten to sacrifice for Dark Sanctuary. The Pharaoh then makes a come back by playing Collected Power to transfer the effects of some Magic Cards cards to Kuriboh (Note: In the TCG, Collected Power only effects Equip Spell Cards) and then plays Exile of the Wicked to destroy Kuriboh and the Evil Ghost along with it. Yugi plays Monster Reborn and revives Bakura's Dark Necrofear under his control. Dark Sanctuary is then destroyed and the Pharaoh attacked Bakura directly. Bakura plays the letter A onto his Destiny Board but the Pharaoh tells him that without Dark Sanctuary he can't play the last letter, but Bakura turns the tides again by summoning Jowgen the Spiritualist and discarding one card from his hand to activate his special ability, destroying all Special Summoned monsters on the field, in this case Dark Necrofear. When Dark Necrofear is destroyed, Dark Sanctuary returns to the field. Bakura ends by sacrificing Jowgen the Spiritualist to maintain Dark Sanctuary. Yugi and the Pharaoh decide that they had to play their Egyptian God Card. So, they sacrificed Gamma The Magnet Warrior, Big Shield Gardna, and Dark Magician Girl to summon Slifer the Sky Dragon.

Yami Marik

During the final battle with Yami Marik, Yami Marik has Egyptian God Slime and Bowganian on the field, and a Spell/Trap Card face down. The Pharaoh has Obelisk the Tormentor and Big Shield Gardna. He sacrifices Big Shield Gardna to summon Dark Magician Girl. He has her attack Bowganian but Marik activates Jam Defender to redirect the attack to Egyption God Slime who had 3000 DEF. This costs Yugi and the Pharaoh 1000 Life Points. Marik draws and plays Mining for Magical Stones which he uses to retrieve Monster Reborn from the Graveyard. He also places a card face-down and summons Swallowtail Spike Lizard in Defense Position. Yugi takes his turn, and places two cards face-down and summons Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts in Defense Position. On Mariks turn Swallowtail Spike Lizard's effect grants Marik 1000 Life Points. He then plays Monster Reborn to revive the The Winged Dragon of Ra and pays 1000 Life Points to transform it into Egyptian God Phoenix, to destroy Obelisk the Tormentor but Yugi activates his face-down Monster Reborn to revive Slifer the Sky Dragon and redirect Mariks attack toward it (Note: In the TCG, Monster Reborn can only be activated in your own turn and it does not redirect attacks). The Winged Dragon of Ra returns to the Graveyard but Marik plays Surprise Attack from Beyond to revive it again. He activates it's other special ability, merging with it, and leaving only one Life Point behind. This raises The Winged Dragon of Ra's ATK to 699. Marik then declares that he will sacrifice all of his monsters to the The Winged Dragon of Ra but the Pharaoh activates his face-down, which grants Marik 1000 Life Points but allows him to sacrifice one of Mariks monsters. The Pharaoh sacrifices Egyptian God Slime to Obelisk the Tormentor, and states that. because it was a Fusion monster, that it would count for two sacrifices. Obelisk the Tormentor's special ability activates, causing it to attack with infinite power. But Marik continues to sacrifice Bowganian and Swallowtail Spike Lizard, raising The Winged Dragon of Ra's ATK to 4899. He then plays Class System, making it impossible for Obelisk the Tormentor to destroy The Winged Dragon of Ra, because it does not have a higher Level. Marik attacks Obelisk the Tormentor with The Winged Dragon of Ra, but the Pharaoh activates his face-down Magical Dimension, saying he needed one Spellcaster monster to activate it, and Dark Magician Girl would do, so he sacrifices Obelisk the Tormentor (negating the attack) and Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts, allowing him to summon Dark Magician from his hand (Note: In the TCG,, Magical Dimension only requires 1 sacrifice, and you get to destroy one monster on the field). The Pharaoh plays Ragnarok, qhich requires two Spellcasters on the field to work: in this case, Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. He then discards from play every monster in his hand, Deck and Graveyard to activate it. It then destroys all monsters on Mariks side of the field, even The Winged Dragon of Ra. Marik Ishtar takes over and surrenders the duel.

Pyramid of Light

In the Yu-Gi-Oh!: Pyramid of Light movie the Pharaoh tried to have Magician's Valkyria powered up with Mage Power destroy Seto Kaiba's Blue-Eyes White Dragon, but he activated Attack Guidance Armor diverting the attack to his own Peten the Dark Clown, destroying it. Because Kaiba had Deck Destruction Virus in play, it activated, sending ten cards from Yugi's Deck to the Graveyard, and among them was Dark Magician Girl. He later brought her back with Monster Reborn, and the played Sage's Stone, which allows to Special Summon Dark Magician from his Deck, since he has Dark Magician Girl on his side of the field. He then he sacrificed her and Dark Magician to Special Summon Sorcerer of Dark Magic. Her presence in the Graveyard boosted Sorcerer of Dark Magic's ability, which enabled him to lower an opposing monster's ATK by 500 for every one of his fallen comrades in the Graveyard (Namely, Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl and Magician's Valkyria. This enabled him to defeat Kaiba's Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. (Note: In the TCG, Sorcerer of Dark Magic has no such ATK-lowering ability).

Waking the Dragons

Grimo

At the beginning of the third season Gurimo, has The Seal of Orichalcos, The A. Forces (called Allied Forces by mistake), three Bronze Knight Tokens, three Shield Wall Tokens and Warrior Dai Grepher (This gave the Bronze Knight Tokens an ATK of 1800 and Warrior Dai Grepher an ATK of 3000) on his side of the field. The Pharaoh had Queen's Knight, Dark Magician and once face-down card on his side of the field. Gurimo attacks and destroys Dark Magician with Warrior Dai Grepher, and then proceeds to attack Queen's Knight with a Bronze Knight Token, but the Pharaoh activates Magical Academy, which sacrifices Queen's Knight (negating the attack) and allows him to Special Summon Dark Magician Girl from his hand as well as increased her ATK by 500. Her special ability also gives her her another 300 ATK, because of Yugi's Dark Magician in his Graveyard, for a total of 2800. Gurimo can't do anything else so the Pharaoh's turn starts, and he plays Diffusion Wave-Motion allowing Dark Magician Girl to attack all of Gurimo's monsters, ending the duel (Note: In the real TCG Diffusion Wave-Motion can only be played with a Spellcaster of Level 7 or higher).

A Dream

When Yugi and the Pharaoh are transported inside the Millennium Puzzle (during some sort of a dream), and after they meet Kuriboh, they follow him, who leads them to her. She see her shadow running and follow her and she leads them into a portal to the Dominion of the Beasts where they see a giant eye eating monsters. They go into the castle and see a three dragons locked inside crystals. She tells them that the Dominion of the Beasts was being destroyed by the Great Leviathan. She says that the monsters need their help. Yugi asks how and she leads them to the trapped Eye of Timaeus and instructs them to remove the sword and call Timaeus's name. They did so and it broke free. They woke up, but Yugi found the Eye of Timaeus card in their Deck.

(In the English dub, Dark Magician Girl in heard instructing Seto Kaiba to release The Fang of Critius also.)

Rafael

During the duel between Yugi and Rafael, Rafael had Guardian Treasure (allowing him to draw two cards every turn instead of one), Purity of the Cemetery (Inflicts 100 Life Points damage for each card in the opponent's Graveyard, and is destroyed if it's owner has a monster in the Graveyard), Guardian Grarl in Attack Position equipped with Gravity Axe - Grarl, giving him an ATK of 3000, Backup Gardna in Defense Position (DEF: 2200) and two cards face-down. The Pharaoh has Kuribabylon on his side of the field. He sacrifices Kuribabylon to summon Dark Magician Girl, and then Special Summons The Eye of Timaeus, which then fuses together with Dark Magician Girl, to create Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight who has and ATK of 2800. He discards one card from his hand activating Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight's special ability, allowing him to destroy one monster on his opponents's side of the field, and he chooses Guardian Grarl, but Rafael activates Self Tribute, paying 1000 Life Points to negate it. Rafael activates his face-down card, Exchange. They each swap their one remaining card. Rafael gets Necromancy and the Pharaoh gets The Seal of Orichalcos. Yugi says it is evil, and persuades the Pharoah at first from playing it. The Pharaoh's turn starts and he loses 600 Life Points due to Purity of the Cemetery leaving him with 2200. He discards a card from his hand to destroy Guardian Grarl again, but Rafael activates Crystal Seal trapping Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight unless he can raise it's ARK to 3000 or more. The Pharaoh sets a monster face-down in Defense Position and ends his turn. Rafael plays Rod of Silence - Kay'est on Backup Gardna raising it's DEF by 500 to 2700 and allowing him to Special Summon Guardian Kay'est who hasan ATK of 1000. He attacks the face-down monster with Guardian Grarl and it is revealed to be Big Shield Gardna, but since it only has a DEF of 2600, it is destroyed. He then proceeds to attack directly with Guardian Kay'est, knocking his Life Points down to 1200, before ending his turn. The Pharaoh draws and plays Card of Sanctity, so they both draw until they have six cards in their hands. But he still could see only one way to win. Despite Yugi's protest, the Pharaoh plays The Seal of Orichalcos and it raises Magician Girl the Dragon Knight's ATK to 3300, so it shattered the Crystal Seal. But Timaeus vanishes from play, leaving the Dark Magician Girl behind. Rafael explains that The Seal of Orichalcos and Timaeus don't mix. Dark Magician Girl is changed by The Seal of Orichalcos gaining 500 ATK for a total of 2500. Yugi also vanishes into the Millennium Puzzle. The Pharaoh plays Hand Control, and if he can declare the name of a card in his opponent's hand, he can force it's activation. He knows Rafael took Necromancy from him earlier when Exchange was played, so he forces Rafael to play it. It then brings back Big Shield Gardna, Berfomet, Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts, and Kuribabylon. He immediately separates Kuribabylon into the five Kuriboh Brothers, and Tributes Berformet and Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts to summon the Dark Magician. They all gain 500 ATK points from The Seal of Orichalcos. The Pharaoh merges the five Kuriboh Brothers into Kuribabylon again, and because it gains all of the ATK of the Kuriboh Brothers, it now has a startling ATK of 4500. He uses it to attack and destroy Guardian Grarl, diminishing Rafael's Life Points to 1500, and because it entered the Graveyard, Purity of the Cemetery is also destroyed. He then proceeds to attack Guardian Kay'est with Dark Magician but Rafael used Aid to the Doomed, which if he already lost a monster that turn, he can stop all further attacks for the rest of the turn at the cost of discarding two cards from his hand. The Pharaoh ends his turn. Rafeal draws two cards, and activates Monster Reincarnation to take Guardian Grarl from his Graveyard, and put it back into his Deck (Note: Called Monster Rebirth by mistake, also in the real TCG you have to discard one card from your hand to activate it, and it returns a Monster Card to the hand). He then plays Swords of Revealing Light to stop the Pharaohs attacks for three turns and sets one card face-down. The Pharaoh Tributes Big Shield Gardna to summon Catapult Turtle but before he could use it Rafeal activates Limit Tribute, so they can only Tribute one monster each turn. The Pharaoh ends his turn. Rafael draws two cards and plays Nightmare Binding on Kuribabylon to prevent it from being Tributed and lowering it's ATK by 800 to 3700, before added those 800 points to his own Life Points, giving him 2300. The Pharaoh uses his turn to Tribute Dark Magician via Catapult Turtle's effect, dealing half of his ATK, 1500, to Rafeals Life Points reducing it to 800, and then ending his turn. With Dark Magician in the Graveyard, Dark Magician Girl gains 300 more ATK for a total of 2800. Rafeel draws his two cards and sets one face-down, ending his turn. The Pharaoh declares that he will Tribute the Dark Magician Girl. Inside the Puzzle, Yugi begs him not to do it but the Pharaoh doesn't hear him. Rafeal activates his face-down Shrink, which cuts Dark Magician Girl's ATK in half to 1400, so only half of that, 700, gets removed from Rafeals Life Points leaving him with 100. The Pharaoh ends his turn and the Swords of Revealing Light disappear. Rafeal draws two cards and plays Celestial Sword to Special Summon Guardian Eatos, whom he then equips Celestial Sword. Rafeal uses her special ability to remove Dark Magician Girl, along with Dark Magician, Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts, Berfomet and Big Shield Gardna. All of their ATK power is then absorbed by Guardian Eatos, raising her ATK to 10,000 and she attacks Catapult Turtle and Kuribabylon, finishing the Pharaoh off.
