Yu-Gi-Oh[edit]

  • This card is Level 5 in the manga and Level 4 in the anime.
  • This card is known as "Dama Águila" in the American Spanish dub, "Dama Arpía" in the Spanish dub, "Donzela Harpia" (but more commonly "Harpia") in the Brazilian dub, spelled "Harpy Lady" in the English manga, and mistranslated to "Dama Feliz" (which means "Happy Lady" due to the Japanese pronunciation of "Harpy" sounding like "Happy") in the Spanish manga.
  • This card's artwork in the English dub matches its later TCG artwork with less revealing clothing.

Duelist Kingdom[edit]

  • In episode 3, Mai Valentine uses this card when she challenges Rex Raptor to a game (if Rex wins, Mai will do whatever he wants, but if Mai wins, he has to clear out of his own room and give it to Mai). The challenge was that Mai had to guess what will be the cards under her Deck from top to bottom. This card was the second card that Mai guessed correctly on. Thanks to her Aroma Tactics, Mai was able to win and throw Rex out.
  • In episode 6, Mai uses this card during her Duel against Joey Wheeler. After this card is summoned, it gained a Field Power Bonus. Mai then uses this card to attack and destroy Joey's "Masaki the Legendary Swordsman" as EARTH cards lose their Field Power Bonus if they battle against a WIND monster. Joey's "Tiger Axe" then attacks this monster, but this card destroys "Tiger Axe" due to the latter being an EARTH monster. Mai then equips this monster with "Cyber Shield", increasing its ATK by 500. This card then attacks and destroys Joey's set "Kojikocy". On Mai's next turn, she activates "Elegant Egotist" to Tribute this card and Special Summon "Harpie Lady Sisters".
  • In episode 25, Mai uses this card during her Duel against Téa Gardner. After summoning this card, Mai uses this monster to attack and destroy Téa's "Petit Angel". On the next turn, Téa attacks this monster with "Fairy's Gift", but Mai activates "Rose Whip" to equip it onto this card and increase its ATK by 300. This card then destroys "Fairy's Gift". On the sixth turn, this monster attacks Téa's "Shining Friendship", but Téa activates "Waboku" to prevent "Shining Friendship" from being destroyed and negate all Battle Damage that would've been inflicted to her. Later Mai equips this monster with "Cyber Shield", increasing its ATK by 500. She then activates "De-Spell" to destroy the "Silver Bow and Arrow" that was equipped onto "Shining Friendship". This card then attacks and destroys Téa's set "Magician of Faith". This activates the latter's Flip Effect, allowing Téa to add "Silver Bow and Arrow" from her Graveyard back to her hand. After equipping "Shining Friendship" with "Elf's Light" and "Silver Bow and Arrow", Téa activates "De-Spell" to destroy "Cyber Shield" and decrease this card's ATK by 500. Téa's "Shining Friendship" then attacks and destroys this monster (although Mai could've used "Harpie's Feather Duster" to make Téa's attack backfire at that point but ultimately chose not to). Mai chose to surrender the duel after this card got destroyed, so Téa won the duel by default.[1]
    • During the Duel, a second copy of this card can be seen in Mai's hand.
  • In episode 28, three copies of this card can be seen when Mai is shown organizing her Deck for her upcoming Duel against Yugi Muto.
  • In episode 29, Mai uses this card during her Duel against Yami Yugi. She summons this card on the first turn of the Duel. Yugi's "Gaia The Fierce Knight" then attacks this card, but Mai activates "Mirror Wall", negating the attack and halving the ATK of "Gaia the Fierce Knight". Mai then equips this monster with "Cyber Shield", increasing its ATK by 500. This card then attacks and destroys "Gaia The Fierce Knight". Yugi's "Summoned Skull" then attacks this card, but Yugi forgot "Mirror Wall" is a Continuous Trap Card. As a result, "Mirror Wall" negates the attack and halves the ATK of "Summoned Skull". Yugi sets "Spellbinding Circle" and intends to activate it when this card attacks. Mai then activates "Harpie's Feather Duster" to destroy "Spellbinding Circle". Yugi then switches "Summoned Skull" to Defense Position and summons "Feral Imp" in Defense Position. Mai then equips this card with "Rose Whip", increasing its ATK and DEF by 300. This card then attacks and destroys "Feral Imp". Later Mai's "Harpie's Pet Dragon" attacks and destroys Yugi's "Summoned Skull". Later Mai activates "Shadow of Eyes" to switch Yugi's "Dark Magician" to Attack Position and force it to attack this card. "Mirror Wall" then negates the attack and halves the ATK of "Dark Magician". Mai then activates "Harpie's Feather Duster" to destroy Yugi's set "Mirror Force". "Harpie's Pet Dragon" then attacks and destroys Yugi's "Dark Magician". In the next episode, Mai explains to Yugi that a Duelist can learn more from a loss than a win and this is enough to convince Yugi to let Yami Yugi Duel without any problems. Yugi then activates "Brain Control" to take control of "Harpie's Pet Dragon". He then summons "Catapult Turtle" and uses its effect to Tribute "Harpie's Pet Dragon" and destroy "Mirror Wall" as well as inflict damage to Mai equal to half of "Harpie's Pet Dragon's" ATK. Mai later activates "Elegant Egotist" to Tribute this card to Special Summon "Harpie Lady Sisters". Later Mai draws another copy of this card, but she chooses not to summon it yet. This proves to be a mistake for Mai as Yugi then Ritual Summons "Black Luster Soldier" which attacks and destroys "Harpie's Pet Dragon". Mai notes in her mind that if she had summoned her second copy earlier then her "Harpie's Pet Dragon" would have been able to destroy "Black Luster Soldier". Unwilling to see her Harpies be destroyed, Mai forfeits the Duel, so Yugi wins by default.
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Mai has when she notes to herself that she initially came to the Duelist Kingdom just for excitement. However after she met Yugi, her life had changed as she had been given the warmth of friendship.

Legendary Heroes[edit]

  • In episode 44, Mai uses this card during her coliseum duel against Joey Wheeler. She summons this monster in Attack Position. Joey's "Flame Swordsman" then attacks this monster, but Mai activates "Mirror Wall" to negate the attack and halve the ATK of "Flame Swordsman". Mai then equips her monster with "Rose Whip" in order to increase its ATK and DEF by 300. This card then attacks "Flame Swordsman", but Joey reveals himself as he recognized Mai and her cards. Mai then stops her monster's attack and decides to help Joey, Yugi Muto and Mokuba Kaiba by having this monster get Niwatori so that they could use it to get through the desert.
  • In episode 45, Mai summons this card when she and her friends summoned monsters to fight the monster who were guarding the "Castle of Dark Illusions". She then equips this card with "Rose Whip" to increase its ATK and DEF by 300. This card, "Giltia the D. Knight", and "Dark Magician" then attack and destroy the many monsters that were attacking. Later a fiery dragon attacks the flying machine and Mai recognizes it as "Darkfire Dragon". Mai them equips "Cyber Shield" onto this card and uses it to attack and destroy "Darkfire Dragon". Due to the machine already malfunctioning and breaking apart, Yami Yugi summons "Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress 1" to take the gang to the castle. Mai then activates "Elegant Egotist" to Tribute this card and Special Summon "Harpie Lady Sisters", who immediately take "Dark Magician" and "Giltia the D. Knight" with them to the castle. Later during the battle against the "Mythic Dragon", Mai summons this card and uses "Elegant Egotist" to transform this card into the "Harpie Lady Sisters", but the monsters were immobilized as the area the heroes were in doesn't allow non-Dragon-type monsters to attack.

Battle City[edit]

  • In episode 80, this card appears in a flashback Jean-Claude Magnum has when he reminds Mai Valentine on the deal they made a year ago. Mai used this card in her Duel against Magnum in the said flashback. She equips "Rose Whip" to this card, increasing its ATK and DEF by 300. This move wins Mai the Duel.
  • In episode 91, this card appears within Mai's backstory flashback when she reflects on her lonely childhood and the life she had before Duelist Kingdom. Mai noted that her only companions were her "Harpie Lady" cards back then before she met people who would become her real friends.

Virtual World[edit]

  • In episode 99, this card appears when Yami Yugi was building his Deck for his Duel against Gansley.
  • In episode 104, this card can be seen when Joey Wheeler was building his Deck for his Duel against Johnson.

Waking the Dragons[edit]

  • In episode 151, Yugi Muto and his friends get attacked by bikers, but Mai throws "Harpie's Feather Duster" and this card along with some other cards at the bikers, knocking them off of their bikes. When Joey picks up one of the cards that Mai threw at the bikers, he recognizes this card immediately as this card. Mai then quickly takes this card out of Joey's hand and drives off. Mai later uses this card during her Duel against Joey. She Normal Summons this card in Attack Position. This card then gains 500 ATK due to "The Seal of Orichalcos". In the next episode, Mai Normal Summons another copy of this card. The second copy then gains 500 ATK due to "The Seal of Orichalcos". One copy then attacks and destroys Joey's "Alligator's Sword". The second copy then attacks directly. On Mai's next turn, one copy attacks and destroys Joey's "Rocket Warrior". The second copy then attacks directly, but Joey activates "Scapegoat" to Special Summon four Sheep Tokens. Mai then activates "Nighmare Tri-Mirror" to Special Summon four "Copy Tokens" (as Joey Special Summoned four monsters) with the same stats and appearance as this card, but forbid them from attacking on the turn they were summoned (the copies still gain 500 ATK from "The Seal of Orichalcos"). Later "Panther Warrior" then attacks a copy, but Mai activates "Harpie Lady Sparrow Formation" to negate the attack. In the following episode, Joey uses "The Fiend Megacyber" to attack and destroy one copy. At the end of Mai's Battle Phase, she moves her remaining copy and "Copy Tokens" to her Spell & Trap Zone. On Mai's next turn, one copy attacks and destroys Joey's set "Fiber Jar". This activates the Flip Effect of "Fiber Jar", but Mai activates "Harpie's Feather Storm" to negate the effect of "Fiber Jar" and end the Battle Phase. In the next episode, the surviving copy and the two remaining tokens are banished due to the effect of "Time Magic Hammer".
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Joey has when he explains to his friends that the person who saved them from the group of bikers was Mai (because he saw that one of the cards that their rescuer threw at the bikers was this card and he saw a glimpse of the rescuer's face).
    • In the first above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback explained by Mai. Mai uses this card during her Duel against Maximillion Pegasus. Mai had six copies of this card on her side of the field. Mai then activates "Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation" to destroy Pegasus' "Thousand-Eyes Restrict" (whose ATK was 3800 due to it being equipped with "Harpie's Pet Dragon" and having the latter monster's effects) and inflict its total ATK as damage to Pegasus, winning Mai the duel.[2]
    • In the second above-mentioned episode, this card appears in a flashback Duel Mai has when she notes the fear of failure is dominating her heart. In this Duel, she was dueling against a Masked fighter-like opponent. This card attacks directly, winning Mai the duel.[3]
  • In episode 165, Mai gets surrounded by a bunch of bikers while she goes off to find Joey. Mai then summons this card and uses it to knock the bikers off their bikes with this card's "Rose Whip" before riding off.
    • This card also appears in a flashback Duke Devlin has when recognizing Valon.
  • In episode 172, two copies of this card appear in a flashback Joey Wheeler has remembers Dueling back in Industrial Illusions and Mai Valentine using "Harpie Lady Sparrow Formation" to negate his attack.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX[edit]

  • In both the Japanese version and the dubbed anime, this card's artwork uses the TCG artwork with less revealing clothing.

Scripted Duels[edit]

  • In the non-canon duel YCS Providence 2012 Special: Mai, Joey and Yugi vs. Pegasus and Bakura, Mai uses this card against Pegasus. She Normal Summons this card on the first turn. On her next turn, "Harpie Lady" is used for the activation requirement of "Elegant Egotist", which Special Summons two more "Harpie Ladies" from her hand. One of the Special Summoned "Harpie Ladies" and the Normal Summoned "Harpie Lady" are Tributed for the Tribute Summon of "Harpie's Pet Dragon". The presence of the remaining "Harpie Lady" increases the ATK of "Harpie's Pet Dragon" and is also equipped with "Cyber Shield", increasing its ATK/DEF by 500 to allow it to destroy Pegasus' "Dark Rabbit" by battle. Later, Mai's "Harpie Lady" is attacked by Pegasus' "Harpie's Pet Dragon", although Mai activates "Mirror Wall", allowing "Harpie Lady" to destroy "Harpie's Pet Dragon". The same turn, "Harpie Lady" is also attacked by Pegasus' "Relinquished" (which was equipped with "Amazoness Chain Master" by "Relinquished's" own effect), although "Relinquished" is not destroyed by battle due to its own effect. The same turn, "Harpie Lady" is equipped onto Pegasus' "Thousand-Eyes Restrict" by "Restrict's" own effect. Later, "Harpie Lady" is destroyed by Mai's "Harpie's Feather Duster".
