After Amnael was revealed to be Professor Banner, he explained to Jaden, Syrus and Chumley what happened to him. Years ago, Banner had discovered an ancient tomb that contained the Sacred Beast cards. He devoted his life to unlocking their power, but an accident caused him to breathe in a poison. Before he died, he created a Homunculus, an artificial human, to place his soul in, so that he would live to on to do his research. Basically, he was a clone, but he needed the power of the Sacred Beasts to survive because his body was dissolving. Jaden didn’t feel like he could duel him anymore, but he had to because his friends (Chazz, Alexis, and Atticus) were in trouble.
Banner (2800 LP): played the magic card, Chaos Greed. As long as he has more then 4 cards removed from the game and no cards in his graveyard, Banner can draw two cards instead of one. He also placed two cards face down to end his turn.
Jaden (1000 LP): played Pot of Greed, to draw two cards, and then summoned Clayman (800). He also equipped him with the magic card, Clay Wrap. He then played Polymerization fuse Clayman with Burstinatrix to summon Rampart Blaster (2000/2500). With Clayman and Clay Wrap in the graveyard, Jaden got to destroy a card on Banner’s side of the field, so he destroyed Elemental Absorber. He attacked with Rampart Blaster, but Banner played his trap card, Macro Cosmos. It removed Chaos Distill from the game and let him summon Helios the Primordial Sun (1100). He also used his face down magic card, Planet Alignment, which destroyed Rampart Blaster and dealt 300 damage to Jaden. Jaden ended his turn with one card face down.
The Macro Cosmos had transported them into a world of space. Jaden saw Chazz, Alexis and Atticus floating around the area. Banner explained that its Jaden’s destiny to be defeated and that he wasn’t going to lose to a Slifer. Jaden boasted about the matches he’s won, but Banner explained that they were all fixed. Banner said that he rigged all of Jaden’s matches so that he would face Banner. In other words, Jaden doesn’t have what it takes to defeat him.
Banner: played the magic card, Yellow Process-Kitolnecs. It let him sacrifice Primordial Sun to summon Helios Duo Megistus (0/0), whose attack points are multiplied by 200 for every card in his graveyard (2400). He attacked Jaden directly, but Jaden used his trap, A Hero Emerges, which forces Banner to pick a card from Jaden’s hand, and if it was a monster, he got to summon it. After choosing, Jaden summoned Bladedge (2600), which destroyed Megistus, but then Banner used her special ability. After Megistus is destroyed, she comes back with 300 extra attack points (2700), so now she destroyed Bladedge.
Jaden (600 LP): summoned Bubbleman, which let him draw two cards because it was the only monster on the field. He also used Fusion Recovery to bring Clayman and Polymerization to his hand, and then played Polymerization to fuse Bubbleman with Avian to summon Elemental Hero Mariner (1400). After placing two cards face down, Jaden used Mariner’s ability. If there is more then one spell or trap on his field, Mariner can attack directly. It did so and Jaden ended his turn.
Banner offered Jaden to join his side and conquer the world, but Jaden refused to join anyone who was evil.
Banner (1200 LP): attacked with Megistus, but Jaden used his trap, Mirror Gate, which switched the sides of both monsters. Banner countered it by playing the magic card, Grand Convergence, which destroyed all monsters on the field and did 300 damage to Jaden. Megistus came back (3000) and he attacked again, but Jaden played his other face down, Flute of Summoning Kuriboh, to summon Winged Kuriboh (300/100). When he’s destroyed all damage goes to zero.
Jaden (300 LP): summoned Clayman in defense mode and placed one card face down.
Banner: played the magic card, Red Process-Rubedo, which let him sacrifice Megistus to summon Helios Tris Megistus (0/0), whose attack points are multiplied by 300 for every card removed from the game (3900). Tris destroyed Clayman, and then Jaden used his trap, Hero Signal, to summon Sparkman (1600/1400) in defense mode. Tris’ special ability allows it to attack immediately after a monster is summoned, so it destroyed Sparkman as well.
Jaden was starting to doubt his skills. He was starting to think Banner really did fix his matches, but then he realized that he had friends. They’ve counted on him to save them and now its all come down for this to save the world.
Jaden: played the magic card, Miracle Fusion, to fuse Burstinatrix, Clayman, Sparkman, Bubbleman and Avian together in his graveyard. It summoned Elemental Hero Electrum (2900), and when he’s summoned, all monsters removed from the game go back to the owners deck. Banner received all the cards he removed and Tris’ attack points went down to 0. Electrum attacked and Jaden won the duel.
Afterwards, the Spirt Gates had closed and Banner told Jaden he lied. Jaden did win all those matches. Banner deceived him because he had to test him for his real final challenge. Banner became a Shadow Rider because he wanted to stop the real threat, the leader of the Shadow Riders. He gave Jaden his Ancient Tome and then dissolved into the wind. Jaden realized that Banner has given his life to help them, and as he opened the book, Chazz, Alexis and Atticus returned to their world. Jaden hoped that whatever threat came their way, he could defeat it.
