After Aster's defeat at Adrian's hand, Jaden and co. continue their search for Jesse. Zane then challenges Jaden to a duel in order to restore his resolve. Unfortunately, Zane underestimates Jaden's depression, where it is to the point where it interferes with his dueling ability, to the extent where he can't even use Polymerization or any Fusion Summoning cards as it reminds him of the heinous acts of committed during his possession. Before he is able to defeat Jaden, Zane is interrupted by his heart problems. As Jaden explores the remnants of the villages that he destroyed during his possession, he runs into Guardian Baou, who continuously mocks him for his "descent" from being the Supreme King of the alternate dimension and thus decides to fill the vacancy. Jaden and Baou duel with Jaden having a serious disadvantage due to his reluctance to use Fusion Summoning cards.
Activates the effect four times to destroy all Jaden's cards (4000/2800) (Note: in the real game this effect can only be used once per turn, and only against a monster)
Attacks Jaden directly (Jaden 0)
Note
Jaden could have won by summoning Elemental Hero Sparkman. Equipping it with Spark Blaster to change the position of Armored Cybern to attack, attacking it and setting Hero Barrier (all the cards were in Jaden's hand). Therefore, Zane couldn't equip CED with Armored Cybern, so he can't destroy Jaden's cards, so he would activate Power Bond, summoning CED, and attack with it, but then Jaden would activate Hero Barrier, negating the attack, and then, at the End Phase, Zane would lose the duel due to Power Bond's effect.
Also, Zane technically didn't win the duel as just as he was about to attack, his heart started acting up, and the duel was cancelled; this is a result of the the Cyberdark cards
